Wow, your analysis is right on! I was at two homes this week on the local agent tour of new listings. Both agents are established, very successful agents with Coldwell Banker. When I inquired about the media they used for their two listings, both were satisfied with JUST PHOTOS! You are accurate in your account of how agents who have been in the business for years get referrals and get by with "old-style" modes of doing business. I'm going to search your channel for some more info. I caught your interview with Mike Sherrard a couple years ago - inspiring! Thank you!

Appreciate the comment and for watching. Like any industry and era, there are waves of change, there is a time that those will adapt and those will fall back. "In times of change learners inherit the earth; while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists." - Eric Hoffer

OMG Soomin! This is EXACTLY the sort of content I've been looking for and you are so articulate with this messaging. It helped me put all of the pieces together. According to NAR, the average realtor in the US is a 60 year old white female so everything you've said makes a lot of sense but also I've been thinking of how I can successfully approach this field as a 31 year old black female millenial. I'm sitting for my real estate exam soon and recently I've been posting on FB, watching youtube content on various brokerages to join and at one point it seemed next to impossible to choose the best fit for me because they ALL either claim to offer similar things or the pros/cons of each type of brokerage almost balances out for example, joining a cloud brokerage vs brick/mortar. One may offer better commission but the other may offer more hands-on training but your also thinking about local competition in the back of your mind. Now that I've watched this content, I'm fairly certain of the type of brokerage I'm going to choose as I continue my journey to success. THANK YOU!

Thank you for your words. I think there are competitive advantages to certain brokerages, but more than anything it is about aligning yourself with someone or some group that shares the same philosophy of how you feel YOU will need to build your business. If you feel that the traditional means are your access to success, you will want to find a group that does so, if you feel a more modern approach is needed, then you NEED to align yourself with such. The emphasis needs to be more on partnership than a brokerage. Let's connect. 714.926.5730

    A. I absolutely agree… B. I got my first listing less than two weeks ago from cold calling an expired list. What’s the take away. Well, I definitely don’t want to call expireds forever…but I think the point is, that anyone who is determined to get to work, they won’t be a statistic. Perhaps this information will help someone who would have otherwise failed. Perhaps you would have succeeded no matter what you did. That said, I love your story, and I love how much success you have had. Shot my first video a week ago, and currently editing it. Love to jump on a call and chat about exp.

Good stuff Josh, the common denominator for all success is determination certainly. I make it clear that it is NOT that the traditional means dont work, it is that they are not efficient. For example the time it takes to knock on X amount of doors or make X amount of cold calls, I can do that continuously, while i am sleeping, 24/7 with the right medium and content. So it is a matter of replacing inefficient with more efficient because we only have so much time a day. So as you continue with what is working for you, you can begin to lay the foundation of newer strategy as It seems you are doing. SOLID Josh, cheering you on.

Here's the thing. If you're coming into this industry with no capital, then these old school methods are an absolute must.

Thank you for watching, explain. I spent a few hundred dollars on branding and marketing to begin, the rest was sweat equity and execution.
