Glad others are making these comments. Tired of pointing it out myself. While Roman is correct, these machines are very capable and would decimate their courses, the fact they did not even make the effort to show it is disappointing. Was expecting Alex and Kase and or even Tommy to be out there with these machines running them on the back lot making a bit of drama with them. Not Roman whining cause he is cold and has had enough with the boring toys. 🙄

2020 Defender HD10 owner here. I am pretty sure what happened at 9:20 was the Electronic Belt Protection system. When it detects slow driving, with lots of resistance going forward, (in this case going over those little ruts while creeping uphill while in hi range) the throttle is cut. This is done to help prevent the driver from putting lots of power while in hi range and blowing the belt. From my experience, it only happens in hi range. A message usually appears on the gauge telling the driver "Low range recommended".

Appreciate the insight! I’m seriously looking at a defender pro for farm work (towing and hauling) and am curious if they were in low range, would this have happened? Thank you sir! 🙏 I’m also considering aftermarket clutches for low-end grunt and to hopefully save belts. This won’t be a trail rig.

Why do you guys always run CVT equipped machines in high range when you’re testing slow speed abilities, that poor belt. Low range will give you far better throttle input response as well.

As someone that up until recently sold Can Am the 6x6 is a beast but both rear differentials are locked making the turning radius pretty big. Better off just getting the Defender Pro with the same bed and 4x4 unless you need the extra 700 lbs in the bed. Recently drove the 2019 version of this same Honda and was very impressed!

The power dump bed is actually something everyone should have, we have a 2016 mahindra mpact 750 and it had a hydraulic dump bed but none of the major manufacturers do.

You guys could definitely do some more testing of sxs and Atvs while you have them. Other than the mule, most of the time you show them when they show up and maybe one video of lightly testing. How about you guys do a group trail ride with them, or take them along to Moab when your testing trucks. I also know you guys are very busy and stretched over a wide variety of content, but just seems like these machines are what usually draws the short straw and not tested much at all.

The issue when you thought it lost power was you were in high range! That thing is heavy and going up a hill like that and against the berm of the trenches you were basically about to smoke the belt keeping it just at engagement. For the love of God throw it in low range

Bit lopsided... like comparing a tandem axel dump truck to a F250. The CanAm is purpose built for offroad construction, the Honda is a general use. Just like comparing the 1000-5 to the Talon would show differences that are obvious at a glance.

All 3 trim levels of Defender 6x6 are rated 3,000 lbs towing.....not the 2,500 lbs as quoted in video. The payload is 1,700 lbs for base DPS, 1,570 lbs for the mid range XT model with a few options, and 1,200 lbs for top dog Limited well optioned enclosed cab model with heat/AC. All versions are rated 1,000 lbs bed capacity. This is right from Can Am brochure. Just thought some clarification was needed. Looking forward to more content on this beast!

Engine and DC trans great but I prefer a CVT for slow trail riding. I want a machine that's more versatile for doing trail riding and utility.

Come on guys.....that was dismal display of what they can do. My riding lawnmower can make it through your "ultimate torture test".......lol. Take them to Moab and climb some rocks. Ride them in the mud or snow. You did a comparison of the Defender 6x6 vs Toyota Tacoma a couple years ago and you were dragging logs, hauling hay rounds, climbing, etc at the ranch and that was great. Sorry to bust your chops as your content is usually great. I have a Defender 6x6 Limited on order and was hoping to see it really tested as $34k is a lot to convince the wife to spend on a "man toy".......lol.......could find an old Yugo that could pass this test for $150
