I totally agree with you. I just commented on another video that lambskin is not as delicate as people make it out to be. I have 2 vintage lambskin bags of over 25 years and they are in very good condition. If i ever buy a brand new Chanel bag it will be lambskin. I love the look of lambskin and I don' t think I can settle for Caviar even though some of the recent Caviar ones i have seen look good too.Lambskin it is for me though:)

One little flaw at the beginning. Coco Chanel never designed this bag Karl lagerfeld designed this bag. Coco designed the reissue style with the postman’s lock. Lamb of course was coco’s choice but not for this bag xx hope you don’t mind me saying. People regular say the medium classic was thee first bag she designed and it’s the classic. Nope the reissue was the original design. The classic in your hand was designed after she died xx

Thank you for this informative presentation. I totally agree with your saying about the looks of aged lambskin and aged caviar Chanel Classic Flap bags. The aged lamb skin can be polished and repaired. With Caviar skin, since it doesn’t take polishes well, I have no way to repair nor retain the shine when the sheen is gone. Corner wears on Caviar are definitely not as easy to be repaired as lambskin. Yes, aged caviar Chanel bags don’t look good. 😂 I totally agree with you.

I totally agree! Got my classic flap last week from the boutique and everyone was telling me to get caviar. Before then I was looking at preloved and many recent caviar bags have very worn corners while there’s 30 year old lambskins that look pristine aside from the deflated quilting! I previously had a very bad experience with ysl caviar so.. I went with lambskin! Now I am crossing all my fingers that time will prove me right :D

i agree with you. Your bag will be fine. I have 2 Chanel lambskin bags both aged over 25 years and they are in very good condition apart from the deflated quilting. I think people generally just assume that lambskin is less durable but it isn't really :)

I think it depends on your style. Caviar/silver is much more casual than lamp skin. I feel like lamp skin is more dressy. You’ll have to dress up for it. Not quite an every day bag vs silver caviar. I scratched lamp skin Chanel when I went to try it on in store (oops!)

I just found out my 5 years old used only twice lambskin CF bag has a small crack on it.... now i regret i didn't get it cavier Off topic, my kurt geiger lambskin bag is wayyy more durable and no scratch at all even with my long gel nails and carefree usage....

What do you do if get rain days like our and about by accident

I have had two lambskin, each only used a few times a year. Scratches are not a big deal but corner wear was quick. Sold both. I think vintage lambskin was better. Now I have caviar and I can basically toss it around and take it anywhere as often as I want. I had a vintage lamb camera bag and am kicking myself for selling it. I do think lamb is prettier and in black the color saturation is better.

I got the caviar and I am thinking of getting lambskin especially after your review. What size is your bag?

But the lambskin bags I see in the boutique is always super scratched up and it just came out of the box lol Idk am scared of lambskin because I walk with a cane and I bump into things and I worry that I may scratch it terribly

assuming you bought this new, did you find it very stiff? I ordered my small classic in lamb and was expecting it to open with ease but it was about as stiff as my caviar classic

It does sofen with use but it’s true, it was difficult to hold open when grabbing something from inside

Only when i open the bag, at the back there is some creasing but it goes back to It’s place after I put it back 😊

Lambskin is beautiful. Unless you cut it, it's pretty easy to care for.

I totally wish I got my classic flap in lamb skin. I fell for the myth that caviar is more durable. My next Chanel will definitely be lambskin 🤍

Oh my goodness. Same thing. I just purchased mine in caviar two days ago while on holiday in France and I have soo much regret. Especially as I live in the UK and apparently I am not allowed to exchange it here. Its still sitting in my suitcase as I really do not want it anymore but I’m stuck with it 😢. Ps- always go with your instincts.

Aged lamb skin does not look good at all. All flat , no puffy 😂 If you take care of your caviar , it will always look like new !
