Do I need a visa to travel to Europe after Brexit? New EU immigration rules explained!

Brexit will officially take place on 1st January 2021. As a result of leaving the EU, British citizens wishing to travel to Europe will be subject to new immigration rules. Most countries in continental Europe are part of the Schengen Area. People with British passports can only stay in the Schengen Area for no more than 90 days within each 180 day period. Fortunately, they do not need to apply for a visa. Meanwhile, due to historical reasons, British citizens may continue to reside in the Republic of Ireland.
Meanwhile, a new electronic visa has been launched by the Russian government. Citizens of EU countries including Ireland may apply for this eVisa to visit Russia, but British citizens may not!

That's right, they have belonged in a Common Travel Area ever since the Republic broke off, long before even the EEC was formed.

@@kinhaukam8530 To be fair, how many people will need to spend more than 3 months in Continental Europe every half year? Most of the people actually affected are those who own summer homes in Spain and other sunny places, and they are quite angry about it! www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9000815/Furious-British-expats-blast-EUs-new-post-Brexit-travel-rules.html Not that the people leaving comments are very sympathetic to them though.
