I clicked on this video so fast after I saw the title! Something I really struggle with is guilt. I went from a tiny hyper energetic loud fireball- mommy to 3 children with special needs who are the light of my life and married to my high school sweetheart who is the love of my life- to having to be cared for with every little thing while paralyzed for a few months and now 11 years later I can walk most days but I get sick non stop and have excruciating pain non stop so I feel like a big burden!!! I don't feel like me! But my hubby is the best ever- 19 years married this july and he's truly my knight in shining armor and I have 3 compassionate empathetic teenagers who are incredible. Yet I still struggle so much with guilt that almost cripples me and anxiety about things I want to do and should be doing etc etc. But that I can't... .....its tough. But on the other hand- .....i'm so incredibly blessed because of this. All 3 of my kids have told me at separate times that they are glad it happened because they like me better this way etc. Im always around to talk too or hang out with, we aren't running around non stop and trying to give them every single experience in the world that was actually overwhelming them..... I have good bonds with my children and my hubby and I are crazy close. It's really beautiful. I try to be so grateful for everything I have and try to just do what i can without making myself sick lol- that's a hard balance. But im sti'll trying and I'm not giving up and I think that says something about all of us with chronic illnesses etc- we keep going ❤❤❤

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a few months ago by my doctor (who is horrible and doesn’t help whatsoever aka I need a new family doc lol) and I’ve been having this terrible pain for THREE years now, just after I graduated high school. My boyfriend and I have been together 7 years in October, and I don’t know what I’d do without him. He’s loved me and supported me through EVERYTHING, all my illness’ and struggles he’s there. He never complains, he always takes care of me. You reminded me just how thankful I am to have him 💜

Bleck. "Dr." Phil is a total idiot. He's a narcissistic egocentric asshole. I can't stand him. Did you see the episode when he told the inter-abled couple the girl either needed to be his caretaker OR his girlfriend but she can't be both? Get real. That's not even possible in that kind of relationship and he was SO MEAN to them. He asked Squirmy and Grubs to be on that show and they said no. That dude is just mean to everyone and he thinks he knows everything but he's wrong half the time. And he instigates all his guests and you can see him put words in their mouths and twist things around to make them look as bad as possible. I can't say enough bad stuff about him. He isn't even a doctor. He got his doctorate writing a thesis on rheumatoid arthritis! What a quack.

I have had severe chronic pain along with a myriad of other ailment for the past 18 years and they have only got really bad over the past year. I moved in with a new roommate in Sept. 2018 and he has been so kind and helpful to me. He is just a friend, but he still chooses to take care of me and I can't be more thankful. I also feel that I don't deserve to be loved by anyone because I am such a mess and sick more often than not. I am so happy that Tom is there for you and loves you every day, through ALL the good AND the bad. You have a true soulmate there Amy. God Bless you both ❤🙏

I live in the U.S. in a small Michigan town, and if you didn't have the courage, strength and caring nature we would have never connected. Dealing with chronic illness is so hard, I deal with it daily too. Thank you & your loved ones for sharing your journey. Tom knows you're so worth it😊💕

I have just recently started watching your videos. First impression you do not look like a chronically ill person. And I truly think it's more your attitude and personality. With all the stuff you have to do to just live every day but you still stay upbeat. Even when you say you are having a bad time you still don't come off like most when they are sick. And you do so much for yourself it amazes me. And you and Tom just click. And he never seems burdened by your illness at all. It really seems like a partnership with you two. And I think you both have an amazing relationship and are happier than a lot of couples that don't have to deal with any problems at all. And I truly believe you can't choose who you love. And when you love someone and it just clicks things like your illness just become like normal daily activities that you do because you are happier doing it than you were with out that person in your life. Just being with that person makes it worth it all. That's what I see with you and Tom. Sorry it was so long I was having trouble wording what I was thinking. Lol But keep smiling and don't lose that spirit you have. Its amazing to see.

Hey Amy, I’ve been watching your videos for sometime now but I never comment. This video was my life. I became chronically ill in 2016 and have a lot of similar medical problems as you do. I am SO happy that you have Tom and he loves you unconditionally. You do deserve him, you deserve every single happy moment in your life! I really do wish every chronically ill person had someone to snuggle them when they don’t feel well, wipe their tears during the hardest times, and accept that we aren’t going to live ordinary lives but be 100% okay with that. I wish I had someone like that today..

I can definitely relate with you. I suffer badly with my mental health and tend to be very emotional and irrational at times, and I ask myself the same questions about my boyfriend, like “why be with me when you can be with someone who’s easier to deal with?” Or “you could be with someone who is ‘normal’” yet he stays, and he tells me it’s because he knows my mental illness ISNT me, but A PART of me, and something he’s willing to work with me through and be by my side. It’s because Tom loves you that much and he knows your chronic illness is just a part of you, but doesn’t define you. You guys just support each other no matter what, whether he’s concerned about a doctor’s appointment or you’re having a rough day and need to rest.

Yes, you truly are blessed with a wonderful man in your life 💜! My husband has stood by me for years as I live with Lupus SLE and Achalasia plus a slew of other illnesses mixed in. He helps me so much but mainly by supporting me and helping me with my feeds, appointments and mainly laughter! I can be in the hospital in pain and he’ll comment on something funny and make me laugh, which in turn makes me feel better. Takes a truly special significant other to turn my “frown upside down....” 🙄 as he says. Lol! But I deal with so much guilt thinking why does he stay with me, I’m such a burden or we could be on vacation but instead he’s at work and I’m useless. He NEVER complains. You and Tom are so cute together and you both are good for each other!! 💜

Amy I know exactly what you mean about wondering what you've done to deserve someone so great. I feel the same way! This past year has been the hardest year for my husband and I. I was diagnosed with POTS and EDS and my health has just really declined. But I am getting myself back on track....well as on track as my new normal is going to be. My husband and I have been together for 18 years and married this coming July for 16 years. He works everyday so I can stay home and be with our children and has done this since we got married. He said he just wanted to take care of me for the rest of my life. I always tell him that they broke the mold after they made him. I seriously wish that you and I lived near each other Amy because I just feel like we would get along so well and I feel like you understand me and what all I am going through. I have been watching your videos for a year now and they are helping me more than you will ever know! Much love to you from Tennessee!

Sometimes I think why do I faint as much as I do and why do I dislocate as much as I do and have as much seizures as much as I do. Sometimes I think back to when I was like 5 or 6 (even though I can hardly remember those days😂😂) and back then the biggest thing was who got the last sweet 😂😂. I sometimes I want a break and to have a day where I can like run a marathon, man alive I miss running. But stuff changes. I would never have got as close to my friends if I hadn't have got ill and I would have never have been as determined as I am now. Tom is the NICEST man and I am so happy for you to have him. Nausea is the WORST 😭😭😭

Tom and you are ment to be together and you can totally see how much you love and care for each other. I am so happy that you have found each other. Some people go there whole lives and never find there true soul mate, chronic illness or not. I don't think Tom would trade his life that he has with you, just to so that he could say he was living a "normal" Life with a "normal" Girlfriend. This is his normal and you can definitely see that he loves his life the way it is... I totally understand where those feeling could from cause I have them all the time and I'm not in a relationship but I can definitely say that it keep me from being in a relationship cause I always have this feeling that I don't want to get into a relationship with someone and my illnesses bring there life down or make it so they are not living a "normal" Life. I hope that you both start to feel better soon and that you and your whole family are able to not get the flu this year. Sending you lots of hugs and love from Oregon

Awwwww seriously love the bones of you two 🥰🥰. You’re both lovely people who deserve each other. I always feel guilty but my hubby just makes me laugh instead of feeding my “pity party😂”. Just love each other and don’t take life too seriously, like us you two laugh and that’s how it should be but then don’t feel guilty when things get tough, that’s a relationship!! We are loved and we deserve that, also we love them and they deserve that, it’s called true love and being good people we deserve that. Keep being you Amy and never apologise for being a beautiful, loving person 🥰🥰

I feel ya! I have so many health issues and my husband deserves a healthy wife who can work and keep up with him, but he doesn’t want that. He loves me for me, illness and all. I definitely got so lucky with him. We have been together 17 years and married 16. Oh and crocks are awesome! Not the weird looking ones, but love all of their regular shoes. I have severe RA and they help my feet! The only flip flops I can wear!

I've just watched your video, could you not customise a drainage bag? You could cut the original end off, put the attatchement in that would for your tube and then use heat to melt the bag snug around the end? Just a suggestion, maybe worth a try? Love your vids!!

I know what you mean when you ask yourself about your partner. I have the same feelings alot of the times with my husband. I have MS and it can be very rough on him. My mood changes from a minute to minute. But he always says than he doesnt want anyone else. So keep him close. He does you good.
