Guided count for 108 surya namaskars. In this video, I do a 108 sun salutations and you can join in along with me. My suggestion is to start with as many surya namaskars as your body is comfortable with and then slowly build that number up to 108 with practice. This is not a competition - yoga is never a competition. Yoga is about aligning your mind, body and soul. And doing it with love. Lots of love!
Surya namaskar vinyasa flow is amazing and does many wonders for you. It is a great cardio workout, and can be practiced for weight loss. It is great for stretching the body and improving flexibility. Also, amazing for building healthy muscle. I have personally been doing 108 surya namaskars everyday for a while now, and have experiences these benefits.

    @@Enn_Bee. Lord Sun is known to have twelve names in the world. Each step of Surya Namaskar is linked to one incantation or holy chant. a) With the first step of Tadasana: “Om Mitraya Namah” means “To the Sun God who renders his affection to all.” b) With the next step of Urdhva Hastasana : “Om Ravaye Namah” means “To the Sun, that causes all the changes.” c) While doing the Padahastasana, you can chant the mantra in Surya’s real name, “Om Suryaye Namah:” “Om Suryaye Namaha:” is the Surya Namaskar mantra meaning “that sole one who can induce you with all activity.” d) Ashwa Sanchalasana is the horse pose : “Om Bhanave Namaha” means “the one who diffuses through the light.” e) Parvatasana : “Om Khagaye Namaha:” would mean “who moves in the sky.” f) Ashtanga Namaskar is where you use all the eight body parts to perform a Surya Namaskar mantra. “Om Pusne Namah:” means “that one single soul which can nourish all across the world.” g) Bhujangasana : “Om Hiranya Garbhaya Namaha: means “the womb that can contain everything.” h) With Parvatasana you can chant, “Om Marichaye Namah” Om Marichaye Namah: means the prayer to those, who possesses raga (music and rhythmic guidance) i) Ashwa Sanchalasana : "Om Adityaya Namah" means “that one who is counted to be the God of Gods.” j) During Padahastasana the Surya Namaskar with mantra can be used to chant “Om Savitre Namah:” “Om Savitre Namah:” would mean “that holy one who helps in producing everything.” k) Urdhva Hastasana is that step wherein we praise the Sun God, calling “Him the One who is completely fit to be worshipped.” l) Tadasana can be quoted with the incantation, “Om Bhaskaraya Namah:” and that would roughly translate to “the One who is the glittering gold and the cause of everything that shines and lusters.”

    Anna, I want to thank you for inspiring me to do this video with you 360 times now. Fortunately, since I pay for KZread Premium, I don’t get the ads, and I started the 108 during the pandemic. I still had an old injury from doing Ashtanga yoga, so the first 108 were not easy. Then, I watched the 30 day challenge and decided to ‘go for it!’ After 30 days - usually doing the routine five or six times a week with a rest day, I couldn’t stop! I thought I’d go 108 times of 108. The results kept inspiring me to do more, and I did them with a group of people , setting intentions, on the Equinox and Solstice. I sped the video up to 1.75x to make it more of a flow. Many of my injuries disappeared, and the ‘flow’ became another form of meditation. I celebrated my 70th Birthday last November 24, which was Thanksgiving in the U. S. I was incredibly thankful to still be going strong, and I’ve probably followed your video more than anyone! Namasté!

    Oh my god you continue to do 108 Surya namaskar for 360 days nonstop that too at the age of 70 , I would have achieved much, had I had that kind of consistency, I am speechless, and I am failing to find appropriate words for your greatness..

    Don't. 108 salutations for continuous days is pathetic. This leads to rheumatoid arthritis. Balancing yoga that combines 30 minutes of yang yoga ( hard stretching) and 15 minutes of yin yoga (restorative) will be perfect for total wellness of body

    @@trailsofsamurai4975 wrong. RA is not something you develop or “catch” it’s autoimmune and blood panel will easily tell this if anyone is concerned. Let’s leave the health matters to the clinicians. Each person has their own free will, metabolic process and tolerance for vigorous physical activity. I’m primarily pitta so this suits me, if doesn’t suit you, carry on. ✌🏼

    My notes as someone who was basically sedentary before attempting this. 1. Don't be afraid to take breaks, especially when you notice yourself doing the movements wrong or stumbling 2. bc I am so new to this, it helped me to really slow it down (I adjusted the playback to 0.5) 3. listen to your body. My knees started hurting around 30, I made myself get to 54 with breaks and decided that was enough for the first day. Best of luck to everyone trying this. PS don't forget yoga nidra, it really does help

    What a brilliant idea to adjust playback, I get lost after 10 as I can't quite keep up, so I have been giving up. Can't believe it haven't thought of slowing down the playback before

    Best advise to slow down the playback..I adjusted to .75x and it helped to do proper breathing

    Very good repeating counts, doesn’t tire you out until 108. Usually we get confused on which leg to move in each round, loved the fact that the instructor added which leg to be moved. Alternative slow and fast rounds is very effective. Thank you so much 😊

    Totally agree with you. The voice-over on which leg to be moved helps even though I am mentally tuned to Left side for even rep and Right side for Odd rep. Also, her pacing suits me perfectly. Initially, I was thinking displaying the rep number on the screen would have helped but later got used to it without. After looking at a lot of videos, I have to say that this is still the best video if one is serious about doing 108 SN's

    I'm gonna do these everyday- Day 1- 40(I was tired and could not do more, was good enough for the first day.) Day 2- 50 Day 3- 60(Today was the toughest day out of all 3, I was about to give up but I didn't.) Day 4- 70 Day 5- 80 Day 6- 90(I am already seeing results, my skin has become clear and glowy, my face has slimmed down, and I have lost some fat off of my belly.) Day 7- 100 Day 8- 108 Day 9- 30(I was not well.) Day 10- Did not do today. Day 11- 40 Day 12- 60 Day 13- 25(I have not been well from the past few days, this was the best that I could do today.) Day 14- Did not do it today. Day 15- 60(I did all of them at once, without a break, that's some progress.) Day 16- 108(I finally did all of them at once, without a single break, I am so happy:)) Day 17- Did not do today. Day 18- 49 Day 19- Did not do it, I am on a vacation and hence, I will not do these for a few days. Day 20- Did not do today. Day 21- Skipped. Day 22- Skipped(I am gonna start doing these from tomorrow.) Day 23- I did other exercises too today. I did 20 suryanamskars, 10 parighasanas and 5 kailashasanas. I couldn't do more so I stopped. Day 24- Did not do today. Day 25- Did not do today. Day 26- Did not do today. Day 27- 27(I am back, I injured my leg so I took a break.) Day 28- Did not do today. Day 29- Did not do today. Day 30- 23 Day 31- 35 Day 32- 10(I was really tired today.) Heyyy, I’m back, sorry that I ghosted for so long. So, I’m gonna start doing Surya Namaskars again, I haven’t exercised in a long time. I’m not gonna diet but, I do Intermittent Fasting. Day 1- 15

    As you were going through the meditation at the end, at the point when you were instructing to relax your face muscles, a beautiful little sunbird (Aussie hummingbird) flew into my room above my mat and hovered directly above me before fluttering away. Even as you were saying to relax your face I just couldn't help but break into the biggest smile. It was a special little moment that I wanted to share!! Little Sunbird must've loved the Sun salutation energy🌻 What a completely surreal experience. This was my first attempt at 108 Surya Namaskar, after having been inconsistent with yoga for several months now, this was quite the challenge and has left me feeling so energized and empowered! I needed this, thankyou

    Hi. Im a beginner. Although i knew about these asanas i was not practising. Today did 21 cycles....in 30 mins ..... thinking of doing them atleast 2/3 times a week. Felt really great today .im not a person who sweat easily, so Surya namaskara does a great thing for me. Day 1 - 21 reps - 30 mins

    Sir ..pls don't do that much speed.36 min 108 rounds means it is very fast process..pls do as slow as much as possible.. Otherwise it will definitely leads back ache or injury...as per my knowledge.. Every yoga stretches should do slowly...which I learnt in iyyangar institute pune..

    I weigh 78 Kgs today (15 may 2023) 1st day : 25 Suryanamaskars, 1 break 2nd: 25 surya namaskars, 0 breaks 3rd: 30 surya namaskars, 0 breaks 4th: 40 surya namaskars, 1 break 5th: 40 surya namaskars, 1 break 🥵 6th: 53 surya namaskars, 1 break 🕶️ 7th: 50 surya namaskars, 1 break 8th: 50 surya namaskars, 1 break 9th: 40 surya namaskars, 2 breaks 10: 40, 2 breaks As I had to travel I wasn't v consistent w the routine and felt terrible about it, now that I'm back, 11: 40

    2 months ago I started to doing this , at the beginning I could do only 5, but now I can do 108 without rest I feel very relaxing and lost 2 kg . Now my pcod back to normal

    Not any specific diet Early morning drink6.00 am - cinnamon ,apple side vinegar water Breakfast-1 egg +1 cup fruit +: 1 cup almond milk+1 tb flaxseeds powder Snack-nuts +1 Apple Lunch- chicken or beef or tofu any protein salad Evening snack- tea without sugar and any spicy snack ( eg chickpea fry or murukku ) Dinner- normal food (less carb amount rice or rotti or idly thosa) Before bed 1 cup milk +fruits any

    Day 1 : 40 Day 2 : 35 Day 3 : 51 Day 4 : 50 Day 5 : 61 Day 6 : 60 Day 7 : 65 Day 8 : 70 i stopped at 50 thought thats it cant do more sat down for 2-3 mins then stood up and did 20 more. Day 9 : 70 in one go Day 10 : 70 Day 11 : still 70 😄 Day 12 : had a back pain so 40 🥲 This is amazing it keeps me energized throughout the day i hope i continue doong this

    I did it, I even felt emotional at the end while covered in sweat. This was tough mentally and physically. I have a really hard time with self discipline when things feel tough and I decided to get this done to do something for myself! I took 2 few minute breaks but I did it! I didn't always have my feet lined up with my hands during the lunges but could be a flexibility or limb length issue. I'm so proud of myself! And so glad youtube recommend your video to me this morning!

    Plz don't try to do 108 times in starting phase. No yoga Acharya suggest to do it for 108 count. You should gradually increase the number of Namaskars. If you don't believe me ask Yoga teachers near you. 🙏

    Day 6 : 108 suryanamaskarams done following the vdo in 48mnts.Including shavadan it takes me 1hour to complete the 108.I do this each day early morning each.Experiencing increase in strength of the core,spine and improvement in muscle and abs....Am easily able to drift into dyan/meditation after 108.I hydrate sufficiently all day.Focus and concentration on my work has increasd Journey continues.Thank you so much for the vdo Anita.

    I started doing 108 Surya Namaskar. It was all mind game as you said. The first day I struggled a bit but managed to complete it. It's my 5th day today and feel like I got wings. I will post the results after completing 30 days challenge. Looking forward to a new journey ahead.

    @@sukiatwal3762 It's my day 1 again😅. I was not consistent enough to complete the challenge. There were so many off days. Although I did it without break for 25 days, I was eating like anything mostly junk foods. Yeah, there were inch losses but not substantial enough to share my result (So, DIET IS THE GOD). After that, I completely went off track and couldn't manage to start seriously though I was doing whenever I felt like it. But one thing is for sure, this 108 SURYA NAMASKAR challenge has changed my lifestyle and mindset a lot. Thanks to @Anita Bokepalli for this beautiful challenge which helped me explore my potential. One thing I would like to add here is that believe in yourself and keep pushing. Never give up. This time I will share my result on the 11th of September. Stay tuned.😁

    On the world yoga day I did 108 and wanted to continue for 100 days. Initially I had doubts if I can complete it. After seeing your insights and this video, I am confident that I can do it without much difficulty. Today is day 4 of 100 successfully completed. Keep you all posted.     Don't. 108 salutations for continuous days is pathetic. This leads to rheumatoid arthritis. Balancing yoga that combines 30 minutes of yang yoga ( hard stretching) and 15 minutes of yin yoga (restorative) will be perfect for total wellness of body

I've been working out for a year now, and it's not surprising that I didn't lose a lot of weight. But my back, butt, belly, hips, arms and just everything is so toned and muscled now. The first week my back and knees hurt so much I started thinking I had arthritis, but turns out my body was just getting used to this new and fast workout. I'm much more flexible, my skin is healthy and glowing, and I look very lean. I didn't diet which must be the reason I lost so less weight. I ate everything I wanted because I was starving all the time but that doesn't mean I overate. One way to keep going through the days would be to count the days in a decreasing order. The same can go for the namaskar while you're doing it. Count this way - just 100 more, just 90 more......and as you keep going you won't even realise it's just 1 more and you're done. Don't skip, even if the scale doesn't budge, you'll see the difference in your body cause you just lost fat and gained muscles. Definitely worth a try. It was an experience. It's just 30 days afterall. P.S. I did it on my periods too. It doesn't hurt much but then I never know cause I don't get cramps and my flow is just normal. So it's up to you.

    I finished morning meltdown on beach body and I loved it. I lost 20 pounds and I feel amazing. Unfortunately, I've been feeling uninspired since I finished the program. I'm doing this!     I'm easing my way into it. I did 20 until my right thumb kept bothering me. I have been diagnosed with carpal tunnel but I'm not stopping. I used my fitbit and burned 94 calories in my second set of 10. Depending on how my thumb is doing tomorrow I will try to move up to 30 and so on. Here is what is funny. Before I started, I thought 108 was impossible. By thr time I stopped at 20 I thought I could easily go on as long as I paced myself. I was actually finding the whole routine relaxing. Looking forward to doing many more tomorrow. I may break them through out the day. Thanks for posting this video and your explanation video. Your info has been very accurate and encouraging!

    I did it I did it All108 at one go . I am not a yoga person find it boring . I just thought I will give it a try. I love the way you keep count . Or else I would be confused with the Left and Right. Oh I love the pace but I was a tad bit faster. I must learn to synchronize my breathing better. But this is so much easier than Burpees.it was super tough breathing during burpees now it is a cake walk Guys if I can do it at 72 yrs at one go any body can do it give it a try be patient..Thank you Anita Blessings and love

    For some reason, youtube suggested your overview for the 108 SN Count. After watching you talk about it in one video, I decided to try it. I workout out 5-6 days a week ( cardio, hitt, dumbells, walking), and I can't tell you how great I feel after doing this. Tonight I tried doing 20. After just 20, my body felt so good and my mind felt clearer. I'm thinking of doing a set of 20 three times a day ( morning, afternoon, and night) Thank you for doing this and sharing it with others.

    Hello will start first with a big thanks… I have started my everyday suryanamaskar with 108 number on 5/2/2022 till to date I haven’t missed one day of this at initial point my weight is 88kg now am 68kg I have downloaded ur vedio and now doing at a speed of 2.25x while fast count and 3.60x at slow counts it takes me 23 minutes to complete the count … now am doing 2 sets per day one in morning one in evening … this all happened becuz if ur vedio and count …. I haven’t expended a penny on my weight loss I can’t do anything except expressing my gratitude to you… I feel so energetic all the day can do my night and day duties at 2 hospitals with same energy becuz of suryanamaskars … I used to be so obese for my height I.e, 5’4’’ thanks a ton for helping me and changing my life to a dynamic one … no words to express my gratitude… !!!! Am a doctor by profession when I advise people to change their lifestyle felt a lot guilt while telling them.. now m suggesting them by suggesting this vedio link.. while doing suryanamaskars I never followed any diet… if I delay my suryanamaskars m feeling so guilty n low… I have done at 11pm also on some days to be consistent… I have tried to follow other people’s 108 count in KZread but not get accustomed to them … sooo addicted ❤❤❤

    Same here. Doing 54 morning and evening daily. But the day I skip intentionally, I punshi by doing 75% all together at one time.... Total 108 at one time will be too much for punishing yourself😉😁😁

    Thank you so much for this video. I saw one of your other video on how to do a sun salutation correctly, and then started doing it. Following is what has happened till now: Day 1: Started with target of 12 rounds. Found it too diffcult. Was able to complete only 6. I realised how much fat I have become. Day 2: 12 rounds. Felt as difficult as Day 1. Completed 9. I was demotivated. Felt like will I ever reach even 12. Day 3-7: Could not do due to work. (Or because of demotivation) Found this 108 sun saluations video. Read comments of people and decided that I will give my best. Day 8: 12 rounds. Felt it difficult but completed it. Took a break after 6 rounds. Day 9: 18 rounds. Took one break after 12 rounds. Day 10: 24 rounds. One break after 12, one after 18. Day 11: 30 rounds. Three breaks. Day 12: 61 rounds. Took a break after every 12 rounds. Had decided to reach 60. Did one extra and then felt like I can't do anymore. Day 13 (today): 72 rounds. But took only two very short breaks. Now I am positive that I can reach 108 though somewhere it still feels like it is difficult. Your counting helps a lot and keeps guiding towards reaching the number 108. Thank you so much once again!🙂

    11.08.2024 today was my day 1! I’ll try to gradually up the number of surya namaskaram in a day! Day 1- did 36. Felt a little worn out. Mentally relaxing. Will try a better posture from tomorrow. Day 2- did 54 rounds. Felt good but was very tiring. Hoping for getting used to it and forming a habit . Day 3- did 54 rounds today. Felt that my posture was a little better. My body was extremely sore before and after but it made me feel so good! So worth it! Day 4- did 36 rounds! Was not at all in the mood to do sth but thought something is better than nothing! 😢 Day 5- did a total of 54 rounds today! I was sulking in the beginning but then it was fun! I guess it’ll take me some time to get used to it! Day 6- did 54 again! Felt good!

    Attempted this for the first time in my life.. Did 30 for first day (22nd sept) and burnt 218 cal. Sweating like a pig.. will continue this for 30 days and see my progress.. thank you so much Anita!!! 😘 Day 2: did 32 today (23rd sept 2022) Day 3 : did 25 only today (26th sept 2022 , took sat sun off in between)

    My joints feel so lubricated!! My knees haven't felt so good in years. I wasn't even aware of the restriction. Even three hours after the session my mood was elevated and I had natural energy. Feels amazing. I am going for the 30 days😁 Day1 ☑️ Day 2☑️ Day3 ☑️....ps. this was harder than I thought w/sore muscles. Day4...took me all day. Menses really suck my energy. I learned show up. Don't worry about form, sometimes just showing up helps create a healthy pattern.

    Today my 13 year old son and I did 108 in our backyard. Our goal was 55 but together were able to do all 108. We had a few laughs in between. Thank you for the inspiration 💗

    Doing Surya namaskar since last week today is my 8th day without break 108 since day one I am feeling proud coz my loose fat had been tight which I couldn't achieve even doing squats thank you so much I am doing coz u inspired me to try something

    Day 10 for me doing 108 Suryanamaskars. For the first time I didn't need to take a water break too. Your video helps me keep a count of my reps. For all the people out there, if you need to see a difference in your body, nothing beats Suryanamaskars. Maybe not 108 but start with them and your body will thank you. ❤️

    inspiring!! saw this yesterday!! did 30 counts today, wasnt that hard, i need to keep increasing!! cant believe one round takes 13.9. so i burnt around 416 cal !! woww really ?!?!?!?!?!
