@@XXLRebel I remember thinking that when I was experiencing novice gains. My 5 RM in the squat went from like 110kg to 150kg over the course of several months, I remember legit thinking I would be squatting 200kg for reps within the year. What a fool I was.

  • @jermaineayivoh8263

Technically this is a tempo pause squat rather than being merely just a pause squat which makes this even more impressive . 5 second eccentric phase (which is the tempo part of the squat) followed by the 5 second pause in the hole. Not too mention of course that this is fully ATG. An ATG 5 second tempo 5 second pause squat with 250kg is insane. Mad respect!

Most likely, it's russian knee wraps, like these: store.hookgrip.com/shop/russian-knee-wraps-all-options/ He wears them in most of his videos. Klokov doesn't like to wrap them around the patella, that's why you can see his knees. He wraps above and below the patella, he said somewhere that it's not good to put pressure on it.

The bar, plates and floor are prepared for that. It's weightlifting equipment, it can handle that and much more. Olympic weightlifters usually drop the bar to the floor after their last set of squats because it's easier to unload it and because they usually do some exercise from the floor, like clean pulls or whatever.
