"It came out last June, sorry I said last June because I forgot June 2020. I meant June 2019" big mood
Love the adventure, been running it for over half a year now. Overall I'd say I'm very happy, but do have a few things to say. The adventure is very open by design, letting the players (but mainly the DM) decide between countless different stories and locations to explore. While all the locations and stories are writing incredibly well, there is a lack of guidance how to include many of these locations in your game, meaning that a DM will have to put in some time and effort to learn about all these things, and how to implement them. as there are virtually no pointers in the adventure where to find more information on topics. Example, chapter 4 contains several pirate lords. In chapter 4 is information about their personality and stats, and how the final showdown with them will work. To find out more, you'd have to look and read the entire chapter 3 and the random encounter appendix, read it in it's entirety (CH. 3 is 46 Pages of various different locations on the sword coast, and random encounters in 12). Keeping track of all of these can be daunting, and I had it happen that I ran a encounter/location, just to eventually read about some other location that I could tie into the storyline. Another example, port Llast and Luskan. (Warning Spoilers for both locations). In Luskan, the party investigates pirate activity for the main quest. While doing so, they find that the arcane brotherhood is connected. In regards to this, they might investigate 4 different locations to track down some of the Brotherhoods members, but they won't have to. The book tells us in the Luskan section where each member is. Now, Druette the Raven from the Arcane Brotherhood is in Port Llast, as write in the Luskan section. But if you go to Port Llast, there is no mention of her. Instead, it gives us an entirely different sub plot, that of a magic item being stolen from the Arcane Brotherhood in Luskan. Neither location mentions how any of this is connected or what to make of it. To make is worse, Druette the Raven and the people who stole the magic item are connected, but the book never says how. This is just one example of many. But don't get me wrong, the book is great, but to really get everything out of it, it will take a lot of effort on the DM's part to figure everything out and make their own connection. And TBH this is what I love about the book, as my style of DMing is waving my PC backstory to locations and quests, and the openness of CFtD makes it easy to add NPC or plot points of my own making, but yea some DM's might not like buying a book and still having to do (potentially) a lot of additional work.
Thanks for the review!
I hope that DMsguild continue to support your channel, the reviews are awesome!
I wish for more with the softcover on DM's Guild. Or a better way to find them. Lol I could be missing a filter?
I personally love this adventure book. I'm currently running it for my own home game for my friends.

@@zach1972 I think you can order it physically but I meant the pdf ^^
For the algorithm.
Anyone have any experience blending this with a Ghosts of Saltmarsh campaign? I imagine it wouldn't be too hard, but curious if anyone has done it.

This is what I'm working on right now. Trying to start in the next month or so, and place the entire campaign in the Moonshaes as well. So it'll require changing a lot of locations naturally, but so far, it's an exciting way to really tie Saltmarsh into it.
how did I miss this vid? i have been running this campaign for the last 2 years its a blast
Been eyeballing this one, thanks for the review.
I like videos talking about full adventures. Thank you for all your work.
Love the sound of this!! Bought, and will definitely be running it in the future!
Love these! Thanks so much! We need more!
This one is the best. I have incorporated it in my campaign.
Thanks for covering this, I've been thinking about getting it, you convinced me!
I picked this up when it came out and it’s amazing. I have pulled a ton out of it and plugged it into my campaign. The book is worth it for sure.
Always love your content. Thanks for making it
I've been running this campaign for a bit and my players are currently lvl 4. Up until this point its been really good and the players have really been enjoying themselves. Haven't had time to read the whole thing, but it's very promising! Definitely recommend it.
Don’t even play D&D but love the videos.
great content as always, love your channel
This looks fun!
My DM brain: I need it My wallet: Noooooooo

How can I get a physical copy of this?

I've printed a few DM Guilds stuff out via UPS, it isn't too pricy, but around double (cost of PDF, then same cost for printing)

@@TenguMatt PDF was the only option for this one. I've bought other DMGuild physical books (MME 1 & 2).

@@MusuBst No no, you misunderstand. Buy the PDF then get a printing/paper company (in the US, UPS) to print it and bind it for you.

This sounds excellent, I think Something Witty Entertainment's gaming channel might be going though this adventure, solid live play worth checking out.
