The interviewer just projected HIS OWN experience of growing up with a father onto a woman that he said he didn't even know well...as a WOMAN, and a married woman at that, I can tell you that being married and having a "man" in the home doesn't guarantee a damn thing ..it doesn't guarantee provision, it doesn't guarantee stability, it doesn't guarantee your kids will turn out well, it doesn't guarantee anything....go and interview some now homeless adults who had both married parents in the home while growing up...with dysfunction and ask them whether their father being in the home helped them or not. The interviewer equates marriage and having children as some kind of blueprint for healthy relationships and stability. It doesn't. A GOOD father and mother who have a healthy respectful relationship where BOTH die to self and sacrifice for their chuldren...who are BOTH in the home OR NOT is what children need....plenty of dysfunctional, jacked up married folks together going along to get along with children that have no business being together...let RiRi decide what is best for her and her baby...a marriage license, a ring and a piece of paper guarantees absolutely not one damn thing..and keep the label "baby momma" to yourself. Whether she is married or not..she IS going to be a momma to a baby whether she is NOT married or not

Rhiana can do what the heck she wants to do. Many very successful adults came from single parent homes. I raised my sons as a divorced, single-parent, and they're both very successful and fantastic. They both earn $200K yearly salaries. Was it difficult? Sure, but I never thought for a moment that they wouldn't be successful. I made sure we lived in upwardly mobile areas, and they went to great schools. I didn't have men coming in and out of my house. I'm just an ordinary person, but I know many other single mother's who have done likewise. I also know married couples whose kids didn't turn out as well. Yes, it's great if you have both parents, but one great parent can absolutely raise a great kid. Congratulations to Rhiana!

It can provide safeguards for the wife and children. But, she's a billionaire so that dynamic is different from the average woman. And, knowing the negative track records of celebrity men from our community, and non celebrity for that matter, statistically and in witnessed lived experiences, when it comes to fidelity and the real possibility of divorce, she needs to follow Oprah's path, not say Mary J. Blige, or other financially successful women who end up having to pay some grown ass man alimony because they made more money. Rocky can be a fully engaged 24/7 father if they live together. I respect the sanctity of marriage but it is one of THE MOST overrated aspects of our society to date. People will try and force marriage down other people's throats just for those people to get divorced a couple of yrs later. Being married doesn't add any more love to a relationship that wasn't already there to begin with. All it does (for many) is complicate a breakup and financially ruin someone. That baby will be no worse off if Rocky and Riri never get married.

It literally does not matter how in love someone is or even if they have rings, if they don't have the 💰 to get a marriage license and remain committed to each other without marriage, does that mean their bond is any less significant? Marriage is a nice concept but ultimately it's just another business contract.

I agree with both of you. Marriage and being self-made, with success.

Kids can make it with positive vibes from either parent. The lacking parent causes others to step up including the kids themselves. Thus, lack of support sucks.

Does being labeled as a "baby mama" devalue your character? I resent the term "baby mama". I feel it is disrespectful to the mother. It sounds like the old stigmas of unwed and loose women. There are different reasons for fatherless homes. Death, divorce and abandonment also just because there's a father in house doesn't mean all is well. There are plenty of single mothers raising wonderful successful people. I notice he didn't mention Kaily Jenner, who just had baby number 2.

I dont think our generation is big on marriage. I'm 30 yo. myself and most of my friends have other priorities. I live in the UK and there's basically no difference if you are married or live with your partner. It's not a big deal anymore

I thought so too, but here in the US now that i’m about to turn 30 like 25 couples i know just got engaged. It’s really black and hispanic people that tend not to get married

You can still raise boys into men with out living in the same household wit your kid. Kids who were raised by both parents im the household have been fuck up also. Don't degrade a father's parenting because he doesn't live in the house

You bring up a valid point. For all we, as outsiders know, Rihanna and Rocky already tied the know BUT don't care to disclose it. Shit I didn't know Beyonce and Jay- Z dated for ten years until they were married for 3 and 1 of them spoke on there relationship. I prefer and respect celebrities who lead quiet life styles.

On this channel (which I do enjoy for the most part) artists are too often reduced to being valued solely based on monetary accumulation and not their artistry. Rihanna is the #2 best selling female musical artist of all time, behind only Madonna. 7th best selling artist overall. She appeals to tiny children and elderly adults and everyone in-between.
