Evan, I so much enjoyed watching your video. I designed and built this splitter for hard-working guys like yourself. I'm so happy to see that it does the job that needs to be done. If your ever in Las Vegas, call me for a steak dinner on me. I was so impressed with you. Thanks, Gregg Neuer, President DK2Power USA.

Thanks, Evan! I know you posted this a long, long time ago but we are still watching! Looking into one of these units for our property in Northern Nevada. Thank you for posting!

I just bought one of these at tractor supply that had been returned. Customer said the belts wouldn't stay on. They had the belts so tight that the tensioner bracket was bending. I took the bracket off and welded a brace on and it's running like a champ...

I am picking up this exact machine tomorrow. Now that I watched this video, I am reassured I made the right choice. Great vid !!

Impressive product. I think the 40 ton rating is "optimistic", however, this is one of the more powerful kinetic splitters I have seen. Would like to see how it handles wood that is more gnarly or imperfect. Thanks for the video!

I have the same splitter, have split oak rounds up to three feet, try tieing the after back to increase productivity, also need to keep the machine well greased

Does it only start on high idle or can you warm it up at low idle ?

Great vide Evan. I am trying to decide between the Super Split HD and one of these. How has the machine been working for you since you bought it one year ago? Also about how many face cords have you split and has anything failed on the machine?

I would say I have split 75 face cord with it. Replaced belts and a spring is all. The one big draw back it the wheel assembly... there is no bearing and is almost useless to pull around even the yard. I'm going to upgrade and put some in that have a bearing. Wheels get hot and lock up.

That thing stops like five inches before the wedge. Could extend atleast three more inches and possibly cut down on the amount you have to manually rip apart

I am also curious about the knotty oak I have so much of.

Hi Evan. Is the wedge and I-Beam one solid piece? It looks like you would have to replace the whole thing if something damaged your wedge.

It's fast, but the number of times you have to run a piece through for multiple splits can't be faster than a hydraulic with 4-8 way wedge... Is there an upside I'm missing?

Way faster than hydraulic for the smaller stuff..

Hi Evan, After 5 months what is you current review of the Detail K2 OPS240?

It needs better wheel/axel set-up, there's no bearing on the wheel. It will get hot and lock up on you must be trailered besides small moves around the yard.

I see 3 problems with this splitter right off the bat. 1 It sits too close to the ground. You are always bent over. I don't know about you but my back can't take it. Better to lift another foot than work bent over. 2 It takes two hands to operate the ram. 3 The ram doesn't go close enough to the wedge to make a complete cut in stringy wood. But it is fast.

It is a little low but no different than any other log splitter. Could always pull it onto some boards or something to make it a good height. You could remove the safety lever with 1 bolt but I wouldn't recommend it, one slip up could be really bad if your hand wasn't out of the way. The ram not going far enough is like alot of other splitters they won't go all of the way or it would cause damage to itself. Overall for what I'm using it for I'm very impressed. Few minor things definitely still wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.

@@evanjosey4745 A few questions if you don't mind? What is the table height? How close to the knife does the anvil come? Can it quickly be shortened for storage as it looks to be very long? Thanks
@cholland34402 жыл бұрын
I am not excited to see you hunched over all that time. Looks like the table could be bigger. Maybe a feed tray. I like it, the things I noticed are not deal breakers. The hight is average for splinters.
