Braces are good. I bought a good one from Poland over 10 yrs ago with 2inch wide straps. Still in excellent condition. I only use them on my baggy cammo trousers when hunting.

When my business gets a little bit bigger this is the splitter I think I'll want to purchase and thank you for the information😎

Interesting. Where's all the experts now? I been hearing for years that a kinetic splitter won't touch a big round, so you need to buy a 2500 pound 15 thousand dollar over complicated piece of crap hydraulic unit. Good video....

I was 100% one of those guys with that same mentality. I bought a box store hydraulic splitter over the kinetic one. I regret my decision every time I fire the kinetic splitter up. Just thinking about how much time and money I would have saved. The knotty stuff I split into thirds or quarters and sell to a wood burner guy anyways so I really don’t have knots to split.

I have a DR k22 wich is a 22 ton equivalen kinetic spliter with a 3 second cycle rate. It will split just about anything I can get up on the table, I even made a electric winch Crane out of 2" Galvanized steel pipe and a 3000 lb winch To drag and lift rounds I can't by hand. Very seldom do I run into a knotty piece that I give up on. Anyone talking shit about a kinetic splitter has either never used one or at least never used a good one..

They work well together and are fast 😊

Like how the splitter handles those big rounds, weight and all. Plus two man operation is smooooooth. Wondering if you ever had any issues starting your machines in the early days? I have the same 40T DK2 and sometimes she don't want spin those flywheels...

Yeah, when you first go to start it in the mornings. Definitely takes a lot more oooomf on the first couple pulls. I’ve never had any issues starting it per say it’s always run every time.

How much wood do u think u have split already? Camping season is just a few wks away here in WI. Have to start making hundreds of bundles for campgrounds . Been busy splitting everyday so I can start building my firewood kiln and not have 10 cords of logs to look at unsplit, Not drying yet

Probably 35-40ish cords so far but I started back in november. I don’t even bother keeping track. I just keep close track of sales and my excel spreadsheets do all the adding and stuff for me

I’ve split countless cords with it. The only weak point I’ve found is the belt. Had to replace them 3 times so far but they are fairly cheap so I really can’t complain. I used it for about a year and a half straight with big nasty stuff small nice stuff. No mercy on it trust me lol. I have an eastonmade axis now so I don’t use it much anymore. I will be soon though with my new setup. Oh and also I’ve had to replace some bolts on it with American made bolts cuz the ones that are on it are Chinese metal. Stripping and always loosening but after I did that no issues whatsoever

Couple things I've found handy over the years. A staging table so you don't have to bend over to pick bigger Pieces up again after you split them and a hatchet or a machete for cutting the strings when the rounds don't split all the way.

I really haven't split much with it recently as I got my Eastonmade axis in a few months back. I can say for the time I did use it almost every day its an awesome splitter very strong for a kinetic and well worth the money for the amount of wood you can produce with it. It is a very dangerous machine though goes a lot faster with 2 people running it and the precision splits you can get with 2 people running it. Just make sure whoever running the lever is someone you can trust lol. I'd 100% buy it again and have no reason to believe it wouldn't hold up in the long run. I will be putting back in service pretty soon with another video with it also.

Don’t know never tried it. From my experience though I think it would have to be straight grain or softer wood. Either red oak or cherry or pine or maple. I’m skeptical on the red oak

When i watch someone split on a kinetic splitter i fear for their safety! It looks so dangerous. However, when i split on my Super Split that fear is not present, i guess because i see it from the users perspective. I get hurt occasionally by wood the flips up or hits me in the nuts but my fear when watching is always concern for hand injuries. However, i feel very comfortable when splitting that my hands are safe and in no danger. Strange.

Looking at different splitters, kinetic splitters shine in small wood, the big wood not so much. Busting big rounds all day on this would beat you up.

You ain't lying it flies through the wood once broken down. I use my eastonmade axis to break them down then use this to split them up now.

It stores energy in a flywheel instead of Using a hydraulic ram, Takes a lot less Mechanical energy to spin a fly wheel Because of centripetal force.

Couldn't you have split the oak into a bit smaller like 2x2x the length of the log, and just use the wood without the bark and sell as premium fire wood to restaurants and BBQ? Sell in bundles.

First, where is the second hand safety? Second why are you dropping the wood on the ground and then picking it up to stack? Instead leave it in the bucket and work without bending over. Third....I wanted to see some knarled oak being split. This was all straight grain. Last, I take it all the wood you split is dry when split?

Always room for improvements And no wood is split when unseasoned like 90% of the time. May post a video of the kinetic vs rough stuff when I find some.
