I think that this is the best overview of the RS 3 series. It was very helpful in deciding to go with the Mini, which I'll be using primarily with a Beastgrip cage and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Bluetooth only works for "record" START/STOP... Any other functions require a cable. Always love your videos, very detailed!

Watched this vid back when I had a little VZ-E10 and ended up buying the mini. Definitely the right decision given the camera. But now I’m rocking an FX3 on a rig so I’m back to this video and it’s time to step it up for sure. The mini can handle my FX3 with a 35mm and nothing else but she definitely struggles.

Very thorough video, Jeven! Just a note, the Mini has a 1.4 inch LCD screen, not OLED like the 1.8" screen on the 3 and 3 Pro. Thanks for the video. Very glad I saw DJI's teaser of the release before going with the Crane M3. Seems like DJI knew where they were missing an opportunity.

Nice reviews! What do you think Jeven, for a Canon 5d m4, what's better the RS3 or RS3 pro?

For all your run and gun videographers. I went to europe for 5 weeks where I used the zhiyun weebil S - it didnt have the automatic rebalancing like the RS3, it also didnt have wireless connection. These 2 things are absolute GAME CHANGERS. You do not have a lot of time on trips to be constantly replugging cables or rebalancing. I was at Palace of Versaille and the security person approached me because I was just rebalancing my gimbal!! He thought I was up to no good. GET the RS3 if you can!!! The self balancing is 100% worth it and will save you so much time.

Very useful videos. Thank you. I use a GoPro 11 on an Inkee Falcon Plus, but I find the controls are awkward and difficult to reach during shooting. For us GoPro fans, a video with a DJI RS3 mini and a GoPro would be appreciated. Thank you.

Gotta love Jeven! Another absolutely useful video mate, I can't thank you enough for your help and clarity of explanation. It seems that the RS3 is the best middle ground pick for me (A7siii + Sony 35mm. For zoom lenses I still prefer a hand-held rig but you never know). My question is, does the RS3 communicates with the Tilta Advanced Hand Grip although it has got cold shoes only?

Just seeing this and I have the same question! I want to leave one plate on the camera and be able to move it from gimbal to PD tripod with ARCA too!

The main man to go to for information on gimbals, question im currently using the hohem mt2 however, my setup is going to be the r62 and the r5c im using it for the iphone video as well would you say to get rid of the hohem and get the rs3 mini, or keep it and get a seperate gimbal i will be shooting for outside, travel, and short films. the clock is ticking to send the hohem back im also using filmic pro thats compatible with the dji gimbals, i really like the a.i on the hohem but i prefer what's needed for the job. I don't like having gear laying around not being used to there full potential. thanks in advance. this video helped.

Looking at those side mounts (grabbing an RS3 standard). What kind of adapter would I need to attach say a wireless video transmitter there? looking specially at a Hollyland Mars 4k specifically.

@@VIZIONONE definitely not a 70-200. You can try but my guess is that the motors would wear out pretty quick that way. Your best bet if you’re gonna do that is to buy a RS3 or an RS3 Pro (to be on the safe side). Hope that helps

Do you also have this issue that the RS3 Mini is vibrating and making a slight noise, almost rhythmically? Even when you use a really light setup, with the gimbal properly balanced of course. I am aware of the fact that inside a gimbal there are moving pieces and there should be some noise and vibrations but these seem different than any other gimbal. If anybody has the same issue or if you know that is normal for it to do so please let me know.

Since the RS3 can be broken down and has a removeable battery, is it easier to stash it in a smaller backpack than the Mini? RS3 mini for me as a real estate agent doing property walk throughs or city vignettes... On a ZVE10 with an 11mm Sony lens. That's good enough considering I am a pro agent and not a pro videographer. At least I hope it's good enough. Go iMovie! 😅

I am really struggling to balance the ZV-E1 with the Sigma 24-70 2.8 on the RS3 Mini. :D

In my city, I can get a used ronin mx for the price of an rs3. I've been a photographer for sometime and just starting to get into video. I'm looking for a gimbal for 2 major applications: 1. Shooting cinematic portrait video 2. Shooting cinematic car shots ( both stationary and moving ). In your video, you mention we can create the ring grip on both the rs3 and the rs3pro, which I'm guesing will be a great addition for smooth moving car shots. Please let me know if you have a suggestion here on what to go with Setup I'm going to use: sony A7C2/A7S3 with mostly wide lenses (24 1.4 / 20-40 / 24-70) but I want capability to use something like a 70-200 on occasion as well.

Not being able to fold the Mini flat while remaining balanced is a bummer, and reduces its attraction as a travel gimbal. It's when I'm travelling that I need to set it up fast, but that's also when I need it to be compact.

The RS3 is still a good travel gimbal that can remain balanced. I just took it to India and the size was not a problem at all. Also having 2 batteries is super helpful

I need the RS3 for a heavier camera but can I use my iPhone or Dji action 3 camera on the RS3 too ? Didn’t want to buy both RS3 and mini.

Does the stronger motors on the RS3 make any difference for how stable the footage is? Not talking about max load, just curious if the extra oomph makes a difference? I’m not sure whether you said in the video, but the Mini doesn’t have Supersmooth right? Does it make a difference? The big plate on the RS3, does it come off and can you use it as a Manfrotto plate?

Under normal circumstances you wont notice a diffrence but if you use the gimbal on a bike a car or maybe on skis i'm certain it will struggle with the gforces

I don't think it will work with just a manfrotto plate. As they have treads on the bottom which helps with balancing it.

The mini may be a fit for me since the payload has increased on my use of my iPhone and its accessories, even the latest DJI OM6 is right at the limit of what I have...and of course the use of a mirrorless body...

do you know if they upgraded the active track from the rsc2?

Can I use the DJI RS3 Mini with 5DM4 plus 17-40 lens? Thank you!
