I always love seeing your final edits for how it all comes together and that was the perfect ending for this video too! All through this video I was adding the phrase, "Tell a story" and sure enough, you got it in there. That is the # one tip from you that has locked in! Really appreciate your videos, thank you.

One thing I have learned from doing hiking videos is that we usually work in not ideal terrain. Even using a gimble is hard, and winter hiking and Cold Weather , is even harder. Try getting a smooth shot with movement when your post holing. Lol.

I appreciate and love your videos Jeven! Are you using an external mic to get natural audio much? Looks like in this video you only had your wireless mic for your speaking audio, and I'm guessing any of the natural audio was from stock footage, or just the camera's built-in mic?

Such a helpful video Jeven!! I am trying to decide to get the newest podzilla or the crane gimbal. Still deciding. Quik question...whats that ring on your lens? It's a lighter silverish ring around your lens. Is that a variable filter or a ring light or something?

My dude, great tutorials! Seriously nice stuff. Thanks for taking the time to help people new to the gimbly bimblies. Wondering - at 6:32, how did you get that kind of "zooming in but changing perspective" vibe under the pier? Was that using something like a dynamic zoom in post to offset the motion that you were physically doing? Like, you were doing a push in but using dynamic zoom out in post? (Or I guess in this case it'd be the opposite? idk.) Anyway, thanks G, super helpful!

@Jeven Dovey Hi Jeven thank you for the very useful information video. I have some questions. I am going to LA area next month and looking for a nice pier for 60mn documentary video. Could you tell me where is this pier? (at 4:20) Is the waves too loud for the lav mic? Do you think is too humid to put the Sony A7C with 50mm f.1.2 on tripod for a couple hours? liked and subscribed your channel. big thanks

I loved the content. One subject matter I cant seem to find coverage on is using a Gimbal for high speed subjects. Is it possible? I recently purchased the DJI RS3 mini for covering the Daytona Rolex 24 hour race. Sadly wasnt able to use the gimbal in the Pit space as just too many people... but I wondered if the gimbal is fast enough to smoothly capture cars at speed. I was abe to get a ton of video and photo content during the event, but I would love to hear more on that subject :)

Yeah you can use them for high speed objects. You would use the Sport mode thats available on DJI gimbals.

Why does my RS3 seem have a mind of its own. When panning left or right it continues to follow that motion. Even when I hold the trigger down in in FPV mode with Custom mode enable and I have Pan Tilt and Follow all off.

Ok, this video is a tutorial and the surrounding situation doesn't really matter, you can explain anything in the situation you are in at the moment. It's not about this environment, but about the topic of the tutorial. I noticed the light situation: The sun is powerful, although behind the clouds that act like a diffuser. This gives strong, diffuse light that washes out all colors and makes the dynamic range of exposure between shadows and bright lights very difficult. There is little to be gained with LUTs and post-processing - if you want to stay close to reality. If the subject of this video was this location, would you have waited for a better lighting situation? Or would you have dug deep into your bag of tricks? You could brighten your face (or even objects) with a lamp, you could work with strong contrasts or even switch completely to black and white, or, or, or... There are many creative ways to make the best of a situation. What would you have done if you hadn't had to deliver this tutorial but a perfect vacation video: wait for better light (evening, next day, ...) or get "creative"? If you like to answer, you could also put your answer under the heading "BORING vs CREATIVE" because there are so many videos to be seen that are boring because of the light. (and many DESPITE the perfect light... 😏)
