I really appreciate the amount of product development DJI has made. From the wireless mics to the gimbal line and ultimately the diversity of drones. It really shows they are focused on an excellent consumer experience.

Looks like a great little gimbal, not sure I fit the niche they're going for but could be a good entry for some people. (rs2/movi user here) The weight different sounds appealing, however I think the lack of mounting options/swappable batteries would keep it from becoming a daily driver for me on professional gigs. If it could quickly fold up smaller spatially to fit in a bag and quickly deploy then I'd be tempted as a secondary take anywhere gimbal, the space and setup time for my rs2 is usually the deciding factor for if I use a gimbal on a shoot or not rather than the weight. If DJI were to try a different form factor than the conventional bottom stick factor I could really see something like this becoming a travel main stay tho. (say something where the handle quickly folded up to the side or a scorpion configuration so I could toss the whole thing in a cam bag without breaking down.

I'm glad they added the wireless control on the RS3Mini also!

I have such a complicated relationship to gimbals. I generally prefer steadicams, but for long shots or certain moves gimbals are better. Last one I owned was the Zhiyun Crane 3 and it was way too big and clunky for me. Maybe a smaller gimbal like this, or even the regular RS3, would suit me better. Only thing I don't love about this one is you can't attach side handles, which definitely help with fatigue.

This looks rad. As far and clumsy as I am, even with the S5ii IBIS, I'm gonna want and need a gimbal. Such a minimal setup too. Awesome.

The RS3 Mini seems like a perfect addition to DJI's gimbal lineup. Sweet

9:57 The nice thing about the Lumix S5 Mark II is that you don't need to mount the camera vertically for portrait mode, just use "Open Gate" recording and crop the sides of the image.

Here we go again... You and your Instagram videos :)) You all know that nobody cares about open gate, right? These platforms compress the hell out of it, it's like filming "normally" and cropping anyways. Not big quality improvement.

You're killing me man. I was just seriously considering selling my gimbal because I honestly don't use it much and now you have me wanting to just take it out and play with it instead.

Aside from the gimbal, the s5ii looked amazing. Seems to have struggled with AF at the beginning with 2 or more people to stick. But promising nonetheless

Yeah, this gimbal looks quite good. I use a weebill-s which is still great but tends to be a bit heavy. This one seems lighter, could be useful.

Cool to see you're still using the S5 II. I'm about to buy a full frame camera for 80% video and 20% stills. The lens selection offered by Panasonic and Sigma seems to be decent so I'm leaning towards the Panasonic over Sony A7 IV.

Even though I love small and light gimbal, Still RS3 mini might not the right one for me. I think I’d prefer dji rs3 size but hope they make it with carbon fiber arm. Currently I’m using RS2 with canon eos R5 with 24-70. Maybe I should wait for DJI rs4. Any suggestion?

Great tutorial, given you are using the Lumix S5 (II) in this video and as I'm a pending purchaser of both the Lumix S5 II and a DJI gimbal (mini or Pro) would you be so kind as to advise to me the recommended SD Card/s for each slot of the Lumix S5 II. I've never owned either product or similar, I can afford the high-end products, but I do want to start with the most practical for a beginner doing vlogging content creation. Could be used with any smart phone like the OSMO 6? If not, i think it would great if DJI made it so, that any smart phone could be mounted since its a RS3 mini. Just my opinion. I don't think its worth the money to even think about the DJI RS3 mini. The price is not much far from the RS 3 itself. Your thougts?

Great video man! Have you had any issues connecting the RS3 mini to the Lumix S5ii via the camera connect cable that came with the gimbal? Whenever I connect and turn on pc tether, it still doesn’t seem to connect.

As a travel gimbal i would definitely buy it.

Do you also have this issue that the RS3 Mini is vibrating and making a slight noise, almost rhythmically? Even when you use a really light setup, with the gimbal properly balanced of course. I am aware of the fact that inside a gimbal there are moving pieces and there should be some noise and vibrations but these seem different than any other gimbal. If anybody has the same issue or if you know that is normal for it to do so please let me know.

Do you feel the Mini will be able to withhold the fx3 and 24-70mm? It says in their site that is can handle the a7s3 which is realistically the same camera as the FX3.

great review. I am wondering if when using the mic on top of the camera one has movment restriction especially in reverse shot very close to the ground. I would like to use my a1 and the mic but i am not so sure it will work out...any clue on that? thanks

Was some of the footage done with the new Panasonic S5II? I feel like while autofocus seems a big improvement, in a lot of footage Ive seen so far there is still sometimes focus changing whenever someone has their hands/object in front of them instead of sticking to the face. Edit: 13:19 Yeah I guess that was it.
