    I like seeing the propellers in the videos. I mean, this is flight. Seeing the props gives a certain realism that is really cool. So... to each his own, right? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

    I'm 35, and have lived in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa my whole life. I came across your channel early last week and have watched a number of your videos and your voice felt so familiar. At 0:45 of this video, when you said "Birmingham, Alabama" it clicked. I screamed to my wife "BABY! IT'S KEN! 'BEANER AND KEN' KEN! I KNEW I KNEW HIS VOICE!". I'm glad you're still at it and that you're into copters. Keep up the good work!

    Yep they really works, i have a Phantom 4 and i try it over Everglades Fl, I reach 13212 feet and then i got a warning saying that i have just enough battery to returning home 44% battery 13:36 flying time one way I could keep going, on the way back i got really scare bc the battery was 5% and 2000 feet away from home that wasn't good news for me, i made it back that was the happy's day ever with 1% battery total distance travel 26,262FT flying time 20:32. if you gonna use the Rage Extended you better check wind, battery, weather before you fly.

    I know what you mean.. when I first got my P4 I took it out to the Everglades and was a little freaked out when there was very little bail out area in the event my battery power was not going to be enough to get me back against the headwind.

  • @Danman263

    @Danman263

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hi there. 2700 feet is too short for the P4. First of all try to find an open space and test again. Remember, in order to avoid signal lost and other interference there shouldn't be trees near you or high voltage electricity lines. If the problem remains, I recommend to contact DJI customer service. Good luck.

  • @reyquezada

    @reyquezada

    7 жыл бұрын

    juankviera1 there is no way that the range of your P4 is to short, make sure your pull up the antenna from you remote at the right direction look for damages on the antenas, the legs from yor P4 are the P4 antenas look for damages, if you dont see any thing wrong call support, make shore you have latest update software for your remote and the P4, try in a open area with no obstacle, good luck

I have flown these over Houston, TX population around 4 million and have no interference from cell phone ,wifi, or UFOs. Flew in the woods with 100 foot trees and was good to go. These things rock. Thanks for the review. I guess that means if I am ever in Jackson I know where to get my KIA fixed.

    +Ken Heron just got my phantom 2 days ago and I could jump and scream if I was brave enough to do It. absolutely love the way it looks. The bad thing is when i first fly it was incredibly windy and I had a hard time controlling it, I almost crashed it at my parents house in a tree but resulted in just cutting some leaves. To top it off I'm new to the whole drone world so I'm very much a beginner and this incident kinda made me a little afraid. Im looking for videos that can help me gain some skills. I do love it tho but im a bit nervous about crashing it or hurt somebody.

    Great review! Going from Red mountain to I59 is quite a haul, seems much further in my mind than it even appears in the video. I live in Bham myself and have considered flying over downtown for those great shots. The airport a few exits down and my lack of enthusiasm for spurring a UFO sighting controversy in town has deterred me thus far. So, I've just stuck to flying around Hoover near the Met. You may have inspired me to explore the city a little more...Within my legally regulated limits, of course.

    Since I like to do FPV flight and hope to do this with a phantom 3 standard I hope to purchase in the near future. Would these extenders also improve the signal for the video reception? I would be using my cell phone with a Utopia 360 visor. And yes before anyone comments about that, this the cost effective route I am required to take. See I have 5 boys, a wife with hobbies and a mortgage.......so everything about my future drone will be on a strict budget. Still watching the $20.00 bill I buried in the backyard to see if the money tree sprouts soon.

    Got mine for $10.....But still plan on modding my controller with the "FPVLR" system on there website to gain optimal distance! Mine are made by Windsurfer and got them on ebay...they work....but in an urban erea you want connection even when your not in line of site, I will admit I can fly far with these!!!

    +Giovanni Lopez Windsurfer is the nickname for this style of antenna. Doing an antenna mod depending on the antenna configuration can add some range depending on conditions, but it's not going to be far and above the boost you already get with a good pair of windsurfers.

    Great...... I love DJI products...... The reazon I love my phantom 2 is because I can use my Go Pro and specially my Fat Sharks Attitude Goggles and I don't feel comfortable using the screen. I'll be able to use my goggles with the Phantom 4?. thx.

    Hi Ken, just subscribed after watching a few of your videos the past few days. I'm new to quadcopters/drones, but love my P4 so far.. My question somewhat dovetails with your review of both these range extenders and your preview of your next review of FPV goggles. Currently I am using an iPad 4 Mini and here in Florida the ambient light can be quite bright, even with a shade around the tablet.. I noticed another one of your videos where you were demonstrating your technique for flying orbits around a tower in the woods manually while wearing FPV goggles and noticed you plugging them directly into the USB port on the controller. I'm seriously considering picking up a set of these range extenders for when I do a bit of long range flights to record the beautiful skies of the Florida Keys and Everglades National Park.. and was thinking that goggles would be a big help not only with the ambient lighting conditions, but also with helping me frame up the shot I am looking for compositionally. The only negative I can think of is navigation and using Google Maps... Currently if I ever lose LOS with the P4 I have the luxury of looking at the small window on the tablet to see my course over ground and find her again in the sky. When flying with these range extenders do you personally use the Google Maps window for aid with navigation, and if so, are you using it with FPV or taking them off when you get close? Thanks!

    NIce video. I dig the shop setup in the studio there. Obviously the first video I have seen by you. Boosters, as soon as I get my DJI Phantom, I may just get these as well. Time will tell. By the way, I am subscriber #911.

    You bet. Sometimes if you view youtube with your resolution settings turned too low, (possibly because you're using dialup) you'll see things incorrectly. Clearly you need a set of glasses and a faster internet connection. --Good luck to you!

    Its cool... But i want something that can make the antenna's longer... As in... In my place there a lot of trees and stuff and its hard to maintain line of sight with the drone and the RC looses signal after around 800mt... So i am in search of something that i can mount on top of my house or something and then connect the RC's antenna to it and have potentially direct LOS with the Phantom 4 as it flies with all its glory!

    Longer antennas will not work. If you want to waste money on some sort of repeater, feel free, but you'd be wasting both your time and money.

  • @KerenWang

    Ken! This was just the video I was looking for. Have you checked out the more expensive models? The ones that replaced the whole antenna setup? I am not looking into extending the range much, but rather make it safe to fly in areas with a lot of noise.

    Tech question , What audio mixer are you using in background ? What audio software is playing your waveforms? Lastly , are you filming yourself while narrating the videos "live" or you just add your audio/video track to your drone footage. Whew!!!! Oh and yes these things are excellent. Much more distance !

  • @KenHeron

    Hey Thomas! The P3 only goes about 1.5 miles. The P4 about 2.5. DJI has greatly over-estimated the range. However, it depends on channel interference, etc.
