one advice, always do this on reverse or, fly 200 meters then start the shot and flight towards or backwards the homepoint as its much more safer

Awesome tutorial. I’ll definitely give this motion time lapse a go. How do you combine the jpegs is in post? (I use DaVinci Resolve btw)

Thanks for checking out the video and glad your going to try it. We select the jpegs through Premier Pro media import and bring them in as a time-lapse. Premier will consolidate them into a video.

Thanks for explaining how to do it on the Air. But how did u edit the actual clip? Is there an easy - free program to do it without much complication? Or even on the DJI GO4? Thanks!

Thanks for checking it out! Don't forget to subscribe and share. We were using a 5D Mii actually, it's not the best in low light but if you handle the settings well it can go a long ways. We use the Sony A7iii for most of our work and for low light.

Didn't know it could do that

This I am saving for when my mavic arrives! I had no idea you could get this complex with the drones. What is the resolution of the camera for still images? How is the ISO? I’ve seen high dollar drones with DSLR’s attached to them but for what I do, I wouldn’t benefit from something that expensive. That turned out so awesome!! Going to check out your blog about this.

Hey ! It takes 4K photos although we didn't use that size for this video. The ISO is amazing - actually needed an ND filter to bring it down. Gets a bit graining after the sun goes down but surprised how well it does perform in low light. Yes we've worked with larger drones that carry DLSR's (in India) but we've found we turn to this little drone a lot for our vlogs. Very easy to carry out into the wild with us!

Hey, man, This is a great tutorial, I try it yesterday but I notices that my control was losing signal with the drone, what can I do? Because the time of flying was like 4 minutes and then I had to call back my drone.

you need to switch the settings to use 2.4 GHz instead of 5Ghz. Google how to do so, and it will increase the signal range by a lot.

My mavic air only allows intervals down to 5 seconds. Does anyone know how to drop that any lower?

You have to check that the photo format is selected only in JPEG, after that you can select the photo interval of 2s, 3s and ....

So if you are just hovering and want to do a hyperlapse (like high above traffic) you might want to use 10 fps on the photos?

Hey! Sorry for the late reply. Out filming. Typically the faster the object being filmed is moving the higher rate of photos you need per second/minutes, depending on what your are doing and how long the subject is moving. The slower the object, like slow moving clouds or a plant blooming, then you only need a few photos per minutes/hours, but you're going to have to observe it longer to capture enough photos to show change in the subject. Hey can you use the tap fly to acend up while timelapseing?

Hi! I haven't tried that. At first blush I'm going to guess you can use tap fly to do this as you can't tap outside of the optics of the camera and the camera does not have a vertical view. However, I imagine you can set the drone to complete a controlled vertical accent with the camera pointing in the direction of the time-lapse you would like to take, such as directly below the drone. Well, up until you hit the vertical ceiling of the software. Am I understanding your question?

Actually, it was ascending during the time-lapse. Look at the height indicator. Went from 36M or so to over 80 during the photo shoot. When you select a GO point above the white horizon line, the aircraft will ascend on the selected course.

Not on that flight as it was reasonably overcast but they really are necessary most other times.

@@TheCrew1iOpen and filters are only really for video use. You would be better off using an neutral polarising if you are just after the color punch.
