At this point i cherish all of these ultra-rare copppertop reviews. This one didnt disappoint, you are a fresh, and a real voice. If i can manage 10 videos a month, i know you can put out at least one a week. Hoping the next one doesn't take another month to come.

yep, would love a few for racing, mountain biking etc. Flat profile look mkay, the others not so much.

It looks pretty crisp, but still not sure if I need it over an SMO4K

After using it for a while I think this vid holds true. Not as good as a hero but I never expected that. Good enough for fpv? Yes. Better than a session. Yes. Battery life will be a problem for some if you do pack after pack. For me not so much. I'll just fly a quad with the hero while it charges. Distortion is fixable easy enough with free software. I expect updates will improve the pic quality/softness but we'll see. Am I happy I spent my own money on it. Yes I am. Its a tool in my arsenal. Biggest issue is using nd filters. It's simply too dark even with the latest updates and you have to raise iso to silly levels. Now screen protectors are available I probably won't use one as the UK sun is too weak at this time of year

How's the warranty? Us fpv people go through cameras like candy. Do they offer anything as far as replacements or subscriptions like gopro does?

Yeah covered that. Dji refresh is £22 in the UK and the first replacement is £17 and the 2nd (i think) £23 which is a lot better than gopros over here. Don't have your best buy replacement like you do in the states. Wouldn't have bought it otherwise as the other insurance types seem slow and a faff

Bit of a hard pass for me, The weights seems to be its only plus, that's it. Will be interesting to see if any Popular/Pro Pilots care in 3 months.

@@CoppertopFPV im interested in one of these for my smaller quads like the babyhawk II HD but ive noticed most of the footage has micro stutters, im wondering if this is fixed when moving to 60fps as I always prefer the silky look 4k 60 gives on the gopro

Distortions and warping blur are not pretty unfortunately. maybe v2.

As someone commented on the earlier post its doing the same thing reelsteady does to keep horizon lines etc straight. Adding distortion back in might make it less noticeable and stop the edges rushing in

DONT WORRY, FIRMWARE UPDATES ARE A THING IN DJI, in gopro you have to way 5 months for the first update , like the osmo 1 its been tunned till today, so, its a yes for me dji

@@rjsvids if you look at the next vid where I test d cine it needs updating ASAP. Its just too dark unless you really crank the iso up and it's not holding shadow detail . Great little cam and I'm having fun with mine in ways I wouldn't expect. Son wore it on a dog walk round his neck today and no way the gopro ever gets used for that stuff. Like you I expect updates - it's a brand new product and for a day 1 release there's a lot done right.

DJI can add linear and cropped modes and tweak their rocksteady stabilization in firmware updates but I suspect its the lens choice trying for max fov. sorry guys the footage from this camera is just not attractive for fpv, especially freestyle. maybe a narrow crop with rectilinear correction but even then why use it with naked gopro options available?

@@m2kfpv449 don't disagree although I rather like it. As for naked gopro that's not a viable choice for anything outside of slow cine. It's too fragile (I've lost two so far)?and just a pain in the ass.
