DIY upgrade on Burstner to twin reversing / rear view camera. Adaptors made it so easy!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I decided to upgrade the reversing camera on my fathers Burstner Travel van T620 from the Dometic CAM45 to our CAM222W white twin lens rear view camera + reverse camera. I showed all the steps required to do so. I used our Dometic twin cable adaptors (CAB001WY) to allow us to use the original cable. Towards the end I had a change of plan and used our CAB0020 adaptor so that the reversing camera inputted to the original head unit. This means we get both cameras shown at the same time. Very pleased with the result.
To order the kit simply visit : www.parkingcameras.com/store/... (select the cable length drop down menu as "2010+ Dometic/Waeco Adaptors"). If you wish to do what I did and have the parking view displayed on the headunit, please also order : www.parkingcameras.com/store/...

We have developed a camera and a display that can be used together to realize the functions of interior rearview mirror and reversing. How can we provide you with samples for testing?

Great video, thanks. I would have liked to have seen how you routed the monitor cable through the dash. Does the reversing camera stay on permantely, or only when it's put into reverse?

Hi, We exited the cable via a hole to the rear of the radio unit cavity. On our install we had Remis blinds, so we ran the cable behind these. If you didn't have the same type of blinds then it would involve unclipping the side pillars (ideally with a trim remover tool to avoid breaking the poppers) and running the cable behind the headlining (this just pushes in behind with no need to remove anything). On this install I had the reversing camera input to the stereo using the additional CAB0020 piece. When using the adaptor set your reversing camera always has power when driving. On the Pioneer stereo we have fitted, there is a camera button, which can be toggled on whenever you wish to view the downward facing camera when driving. If you were keeping both cameras on the mirror monitor then you have full control of when you want each camera to be showing a picture flicking between each camera with the V1/V2 button on the mirror display. Best regards, Martin.

@revcamuk9861 Many thanks. Now all I need to do is to find the camera plug location on my Bürstner 690g. I thought they would as your video, but unlikely they aren't there 🤔

I have heard from a couple of people that they have found their connectors hidden in the moulding behind where the Burstner badge is fitted. In fact one customer found that the reason the camera had failed was because the drain holes had blocked and the connectors had sat in water and rusted the entire connector. To look in this section, you will need to take 3 screws off. One behind the Burstner badge, and one on each side of the trim. You will usually need replacement screw covers available on ebay here (not sold by us) : www.ebay.co.uk/itm/173214681685?@@foggie8496 If you do take any videos or photos I would love to see them so I can share with the community.

@@foggie8496 Have you had any joy in finding your camera plug location? I am in the same position with my 690g and a bit wary of removing anything!

@sandymerry9172 Hi, yes. I took a few photos, but I'm not sure how you post them to KZread. There is a 13A socket and light switch below the centre over the bed cabinet. You will notice that behind the switch/socket that it's boxed in. This holds the wires for tge soxket etc but on mine, also the camera connection. Simply feel carefully along the vertical sides for a fake wood sticker, one on each side that covers the screws. Remove these and the base will come out.

Hi I’ve just purchased the same system but I’ve not been given any instructions for assembly of the twin camera once I’ve fitted the camera bracket. I don’t suppose you can share the one you have?

Awesome thanks for the swift reply and info. My camera has 5 or 6 little plastic spacers that were fitted in between each lens and the brackets as well as either side of the positioning disc. Any advice on keeping those in position during assembly ?

Hi, that does sound unusual. I haven't heard of that type of assembly before. It would be interesting to see what you have. If you pop some photos over to support@revcam.uk I may be able to give a suggestion, I can't promise though.@@user-fm1ml1sk4l
