DIY underwater Gold Dredge

Ойын-сауық

Meet Rob , diyer like me :) he will show us his underwater gold dredge with fluid bed, we hade a meet up of DIY dredges on very nice sunny Sunday, playing in river all day :) lot of fun , he brought his project so here you can check it out and comment your thoughts. The rest of trip will be separate long video
Thanks for watching , and Go get that Gold :)

The DIY underwater dredge is intriguing. Can't wait to see it in operation underwater.

I have to say I'm very interested in those small hand dredges. The Goldsnare caught my eye when it came out a few years ago. I preferred to wait until brushless water pumps improved and got to a lower cost. We are about at that stage now. So i look at every dredge I see to see how that design could be made smaller and more portable. Thanks for the Video.

You are right. I’m playing now with small brushless pump , and have idea of building underwater 12v dredge with 2 or 3 pumps , one used for fluid bed , one for suction one could help move stuff around :)

Brushless is the only way to go , super efficient and almost indestructible

@@djpitr The thing is to keep the speed controller dry and safe. Water can cool a motor that is overloaded. Then there is the conversion of power. 750W is 1hp gasoline engine, and that's heavy if lead acid batteries are used. But lithium poly, energy dense and light. More expensive to replace if accidents happen though. A 7000mAh battery would drive a 350 motor (750 at half speed) for two hours. A project on the long finger. Some day soon I'll get started on a rainy day off and do one.

I don’t have it , bud I will be making.it possibly with clear container so I can see what’s happening in the fluid bed when it gets loaded with back sand

@@djpitr So you can make something similar without even seeing it disassembled ? Looks like you the rocket scientist. I can't make it anyway because dredges are illegal in my area.

@@mohammednovalija yes I did make many hand handled dredges , 12v , 4” gas , ..I got videos , it’s not hard for me to make anything , dredging is legal here only on big rivers like I show you in video that I just post it , check it out , I got my 4” dredge there that I build, and other 4 dredges that my friends build it

Has everybody missed this? He says, " Gold works on gravity and it has to be out of the water, you know, and if its underwater the gravity doesn't work there" ????? It'd be pretty strange if it didn't, floating rocks and anchors etc. Not the brightest comment to make to the designer builder on his clever idea.

Thank you for comment, I did not mean not all gravity :) bud for the gold separation, it’s most efficient if it’s done out of water. When you using specific gravity separation under water you lose lot of gold
