I tried this today and it came out decent. I’ve been itching to cut my hair because it still had the assymetrical long bob style. Just happy to have layers again.

I did the triple unicorn cut yesterday on my longer than waste length (3a curly type hair) that was all one length. I also added her other video technique for changing the "V" shape at the bottom to more of a straighter gentle curve look. Here are my results: I am happy with it! My hair seems frizzy and my curls are quite stringy but I think this can be corrected with product and time for my curls to get used to having less weight (I took off about 6 inches on the bottom). I almost was going to do the whole process again as my hair was almost dry and I didnt think I cut the layers short enough..... wrong! Dont do that even if you think you didn't take off enough. Let your hair dry completely And allow a few hours or another day to pass or even another washing to pass to allow your hair to relax and draw up even more without cutting. I can't believe how much my hair has drawn up by the next day and I know my hair really good!?! I took off the perfect amount from the get go! I know I did a better job with this technique than I have had at any salon I have been to. I have travelled far and wide just to get a decent cut and paid lots of money and almost never had a good cut. Usually, they are shockingly bad. So, I will give this video technique a thumbs up and a recommend for you to try it - just be patient and give it another day or more before you decide to do it shorter ❤👍

​@@palmercornbeef I do the whole unicorn cut to my length and layers every season so 4 times a year, some times give or take a month, depending on how it looks and feels because I live in the UK so our temperature goes from -10°C (14 °F) in winter to 35°C (95 °F) in summer. If I feel I need it I will cut my split ends on the length between those 4 cuts. :) x

Oh nooooo that’s why I cut a little then went back at the end to cut length again because I didn’t want that to happen.

Let me tell you. I have long curly hair and its thinning. I have not had it cut because they chop off all my hair and I cry all the way home. I would say its been several years and I've been doing one unicorn to keep it even and cut out damaged hair. I watched you video and did it with ease. My hair looks so nice and now ill take more off to lessen the weight. I vent thank you enough. I'm sick of going to fancy places and they touch my hair like I have cooties. They don't know what to do. Thank you- thank you!

Does a straight cut give you a U shape but a diagonal cut gives you a V shape? Or does a straight cut ruin your hair?

I trimmed my curly hair like this, thought a week later I’d try a little more but the top of my hair somehow got in there! Now there’s a poodle on top of my head! I should have watched this more than once lol

kissncook ohhh nooooo ! How did this happen, maybe you cut off to much. Before I started to cut my own hair, a hairdresser cut ALOT of layers at the front and that’s what I looked like. Horrible lol so Bobby pins were my best friends. Thank you for watching 💕💕

Thank you for your comment, my hair actually already grows fast as it is, but I do small trims about every 3 months for healthy tips and I do hair mask to keep my hair nice and healthy about once or twice a week. It’s all about having healthy hair also what helps are vitamins for healthy hair skin and nails. Another recommendation, use Castor oil and aloe vara on your scalp as a hair mask about twice a week leave it on for 30 minutes with a heat cap, (check out my amazon curly favorite for that one) or leave it on over night and wash in the morning. Just some of the things that helped me with growth. Hope these tips are useful. Thank you for watching, I’ll be doing soon a DIY hair mask for moisture and soft curls ! 💜💜🌀🌀

@@Marianellyy But isn't it going to be shorter from the right side? Because from what I could see, you cut it diagonally from the right. So the right side is going to be slightly shorter than the left side. Unless you actually cut it diagonally from both sides or from the back. I don't know if I explained myself right.

Y Conde hey thank you for watching, don’t really follow, but I’m sure it’s not 100 percent symmetrical. I cut it by sections and brought all of them to the top of head all 3 times. Worked out for me because I’m going for layers not a straight symmetrical look. I don’t straighten my hair at all so this workers for me. But if you see very uneven curls you don’t like, you should trim once you have styled and your curls have fallen on their natural state. I hope this helps 💜🌀💜

Y Conde I think when she cuts diagonally it’s actually going outward from her nose (diagonally down). Just looks to the right cause she turns her wrist to show us. At least that’s what I’ve seen from other videos too. And what I did.

@@Marianellyy if you want to get rid of that tip...part hair down the back of your head.....bring hair forward and pony under chin....trim a small amount that way....it will round out the v a little but will get rid of that long piece

I don’t recommend those for curly hair, I had a horrible experience one time when a hair dresser did that to my hair. I would say don’t use those.

Why cut diagonal in the 2nd n 3rd cut??

I used to do this from time to time over the years on my wavy hair, and I'm tempted to try it again. Usually I liked the overall result, but one detail that always made me crazy is that my outer/top layer hair would be longer at the sides but shorter at the back. It's not like I have a weird shaped head, or anything lol! I wonder if you or anyone else can comment on why that may have been? It's a long time since I've done it so I don't remember if I did it in two or three steps, it might have been only the first step.

I normally part my hair on the side, but I forgot to take that into account. So now I have this weird situation (on the one side) where my hair is short on the top layer, and long at the bottom. The rest turned out fine tho, so it's just an oopsie on my part lmao EDIT: Dw, I didn't give myself a mullet

Hey not sure why you cutting on diagonal ??? I can see your hair is disconnected speaking from experience you need to try the brad mondo butterfly cut. It's 2 pony tails at the same time and he shows you how to ensure smooth transaction in layers. This works great for curly and straight hair.
