    Thank's man! Actually everything on this project is salvaged. Just like with nearly all my projects. Even the bearings I found in the trash. If people dont have a use for it the are gonna throw it away.

    I must say, for a rudimentary build it is a brilliant idea. No major machine shop equipment needed to build it, and it's simple enough that others can build one like it to accomplish what it is meant to do. Pretty much like my high school prom date...not very nice looking, but she pounds hard. Great video. Thanks for sharing!

    My favorite part was when he did everything he could to get weld spatter and metal shavings in his bearings.

    Thank you😅 its well in use. Last weekend I finished my damascus folding knive which will soon be also on the channel. I was glad to have a piece of Equipment like this. Did a great job of making pieces straight and drawing them out.

    Great job man! That turned out awesome and I really like the blackened industrial look you gave it! You could easily make several different types of hammer head attachment ends to screw or pinch onto the face of the hammer somehow to get different actions from the one hammer, like a cutting blade attachment or a cross peen attachment.

    Nice work! You're definitely well skilled. I'm curious about the leather under the the anvil though. Wouldn't that inhibit metal movement, making it harder/longer to hammer out the work piece?

    Thank you😅 Dont think, it really adds any give, so that its harder to hit🤔 I just thought about reduzing noise and vibration between the wood and the anvil.🤔

    Congratulations good job!!! I'll say only that instead of use welded bearings at the hummer's arm there are bearings inside nest (from the factory) with lugs for bolts and additional with grease pick!!!

    Meine Deutsche is nicht gut aber dies is eine gutes Schmiedehammer! I am very glad you posted this as some of us can't afford to buy or even make a Power Hammer! This is the ORIGINAL POWER HAMMER! I think my Grandsons and I will make one with a bit more weight for the head portion of the hammer!! Thanks, again for the great video and for the idea!

    Du bist der erste Mensch den ich sehe der schönere Fallnähte als Kehlnähte schweißt :D Ich würde an deiner Stelle noch eine Starke Feder in die Zugstange einbauen, die den Aufschschlag von deinem Fuß entkoppelt. Wenn du den ganzen Tag so da drauf stampfst und dein Knie jedes mal den vollen Schlag abbekommt, kannst du das gesparte Geld direkt an den Orthopäden abdrücken.

    Das liegt wahrscheinlich daran, dass ich mir das schweißen nur selbst beigebracht habe😅😂 Danke, dass ist wirklich ein sehr sehr guter Tipp! Da bin ich selber noch nicht draufgekommen 😅 Ist für die Gelenke beim Damast schmieden tatsächlich sehr beanspruchend. Die Idee werde ich auf jeden Fall umsetzen 👍🏼 Danke!

    You could fasten those bearings so that they do not need to be welded, thus making the machine a one-time build.

    Thanks! In both damascus knive videos you can see the hammer. Actually the bearings hold up well so far. Also this hammer doesnt exist anymore, because I already motorised it with a 2 hp motor. This will be the next video I am gonna release😅👍🏼

    Das wäre was! Kann man den Hammer auch aus etwas dünneren Balken bauen? Denn ich habe keine Möglichkeit solche oschis zu bearbeiten. Was bräuchte ich alles dazu?

    How are you finding the foot operation? It looks like it put's you off balance and moves the work a lot.

    Its quite painfull doing this for a longer period of time. Therefore, I am soon gonna integrated a spring to the pedal and the leaver of the hammer, to soften the hit of my foot. Also I will work a way out to somehow mount a moter to it. However, it already works great, and moves a lot of material. The hammer is bolted down.

    Mite I suggest the hammer bar have pre-drilled holes not have welded on just one hammer but use that to use different size and weight hammers sliding them and locking them in place. Otherwise a simple but effective tool for forging. Like that you still use a arch welder which for me works well

    Thanks😅 it hits probably as strong as using a handhammer. However, its much more precise for forging edges. Also it hits perfectly parallel which also makes life easier when forging damascus. You can see it in action in my damascus knive forging video.😅

    I feel like I would put the bottom end of the connecting rod a little closer to the fulcrum. I don’t know, but there is probably some type of optimal ratio or something.

    Danke! Sehr toll, viel Erfolg 👍🏼 Als Tipp, versuche das Pedal mit einer Feder vom Hammer zu entkoppeln, schont die Kniegelenke 😅. Ich bin gerade dabei meinen Hammer mit einem2 PS Motor aufzurüsten.👍🏼👌🏼

    Weißt du, wie viel Kraft auf das Werkstück wirkt, wenn der Hammer auftrifft?

    Leider nein der hammerkopf wiegt aber ungefähr 6-7 kg. Der schaukelt sich richtig auf, und schwingt höher als ihn die Feder eigentlich zieht. Vorallem geht es aber darum, dass man sehr präzise und paralell ausschmieden kann. auch kann man damit sehr gut kanten schmieden, was mit der Hand nicht möglich ist.

    Hi, also erstmal vorab, super Videos und gute Ideen! Bin auch am überlegen mir so ein Konstrukt zu bauen. 1. Reicht das Hammergewicht so um ordentlich zu schmieden oder dürfte es mehr sein? 2. Schon mal mit dem Gedanken gespielt, das ganze motorisiert/automatisiert zu machen? Lg Andy

    😃 Danke Ja Hammergewicht könnte noch um 2-3 kg mehr sein. Jetzt sinds so grob 6 kg. Ich werde aber noch einen Umbau machen, und zwar die Zug/Hebestange durch eine starke feder unterbrechen. Schont die Kniegelenke 😅 Ja motorisieren hab ich mir schon überlegt, mach ich vielleicht auch, aber wie genau weiß ich noch nicht.😃 Lg

    Der Hammer schaut richtig professionell aus. Ich bin leider wahnsinnig unbegabt was holzarbeiten angeht, deshalb beeindruckts mich total wie du das so einfach zusammenbaust. Falls ich auch mal was schmieden sollte wird das bei mir eher powered by Fitinn und leider keine so coole Maschine.

    Naja soviel Holzarbeiten war das eigentlich gar ned... Hauptsache das ist formstabil. Wenn eine der Säulen zum wackeln anfängt is es eher suboptimal zum schmieden. Möchte unbedingt auch Damast probieren.👌🏼 Hast du einen normalen Amboss? Wenn ja dann bist eh schon super ausgestattet...

    @@Freizeitflugsphaere Mein "Amboss" ist eine Straßenbahnschiene die ich mit nem Schneidbrenner bei Gleisbauarbeiten entfernt hab
