I literally just thought of this idea. Turning my synthetic extentions into dreads and I'm so excited that I found this video! Thank you!

love this, been talking to my friend about clip in dreads for ages and didnt know you guys had them for sale! made my day! its sometimes hard to get work or even get approved at work using syntetic dreads and how got time to install dreads and uninstall them every weekend? love this! so getting a set soon

Dude... seriously, these are my new favorite thing ever. I have dreads, but I took some of our human hair ones and dyed them to match my red and now I can have HUGE hair in under 5 minutes. Its GLORIOUS. :) You will love them.

Doctored Locks I might try the syntetic ones first (cheaper) so I can learn to use them : ) them I'm gonna Def get the human hair ones! love to custome dye everything! and I love that you can curl the human ones to have more of a "soft" look! so looking forward to ordering the syntetic one 😍😍 do you guys have a instagram btw?

There is literally nothing special you need to do for these. They are so easy peasy with maintenance. :) To wash them, just fill a sink with warm water, then add your shampoo and swish them around, suds them up a bit, drain the sink, then fill your sink up to rinse. Hang dry and then you are back in business. :) I'll see about getting a video down on this soon.

I have always wanted dreads. wonder if this works for short hair?

You can do this on short hair, but the problem you will run into is blending it in. If your hair is too short, then you may have trouble styling it to look believable to cover the wefts. Chin length hair is probably best for these. That said, you can also do this look and use a top piece (this will hide the wefts and blend the hair). Or alternately, if you want the look of dreads, you can check out our video on how to install dreads on super short hair (there are two). :)

I just got my first set of clip-ins. Are there any tips to help the locks be more flexible, so I can style them easier?

If they are synthetic, you can do a hot water dip on them. Just make sure they are laid out flat to cool.

Would my hair that's laying over or under the extensions get knotted to the clips & extensions? If so, what do I do to avoid that?

Your hair should blend over just fine. Clip-in's are designed for short term usage, so you don't have to worry about them dreading to your hair.

My hair is very short. I have a sidecut. Is it still possible to use these hairpieces?

If the hair is too short for the clips then you would have to wait until the side was grown out a bit, but if you wanted to show off the side cut, then yeah! They would look great styled on the other side. :)

do you need to have layers to get these to look right? my hair is all one length at the moment and I don't know if I want to commit to full time dreads. I'm not sure if these will look odd if my hair has no layers though... Also - do you do custom lengths? 18" is too short for my hair.

They look great in single length hair - no layers required - they will just look more like peekaboo-mixed-Cochella type dreads. Very boho. 18 inches makes them pretty long - we do have up to 24" dreads as singles and you could sew them onto weaving clips to just snap in and out.

can you do this with a halo extension in already locked hair?

If your hair is longer, they will still look really awesome as a mixed look. They will make your hair look more bouncy and you'll look like you have full natural dreads. :)

I have long elastic "weft" but no clue how to sew them onto it

There are 6 panels: 1 panel that is 9" wide, and 5 panels that are 3" wide.

For the hair styles at the end of the video; is that just one set?

Yep, all just the same set - installed the same way as was just shown - just twisted up in different styles. :)

Yes and no. The human hair dreads can be colored no problem, but the synthetics you have to do it in a special way. Check out this video on how to color synthetic dreads - www.doctoredlocks.com/coloring-synthetic-dreadlocks-ombre-effect/ - you can use the same technique here, but spray where you want your color changed and you can use natural looking colors. We do this same technique to ombre roots and create really great fades and low lights. The only limitation is that you can't go lighter you can only change the tone or darken the hair. If you need lighter, you'd be best off doing an exchange. Just let me know if you need to. :) I think if you did an ombre root style it would be super rad. That's what I want to do next so I might be projecting. ;)

It will depend on your desired style. You can definitely use 2.

How strong are the clips? Can I sleep with it?

They are very strong! I do not recommend sleeping in clipsets. You may be able to get away with it for a night, but they can potentially cause tangles and matting if you sleep with them in.

Those clips slip, and when they do, they pull your hair. The more you try to fix it the worse it gets.

Have you backcombed the section the clip is attaching to? This will give the clips something to grab and prevent sliding.
