That braid was really clever way to "hide" the excessive hair left over attaching the dread. Nice!

so I just bought my first batch of SE dreads (25 dreads to play with.) and my hair is quite long (to my butt). Your braid technique is GENIUS. I've watched tons of videos and no one has shown me that. I am def trying this for mine. Thank you for showing what looks to be by far an easier and faster way to install them. You will be saving me so much time!! I'm subscribing as well since you were sooo helpful.

Your last technique of braiding the natural hair separate it genius. 🙌🏻 I’m going to try it

Wow, the braid way is actually the best for se dreads! Otherwise long hair will cover the larger half of the dread. This would look even better if dreads and your hair are the same colour. Thanks for the tip! I've just ordered my first set, can't wait ti try!

I LOVE that braid to the side technique! My hair is really long so this solves me covering up 2/3 of my dread with my natural hair

Can you do the first method, looping the dread into its self, if you don’t have dreads and just wrap the hair around the se dread?

I personally wouldn’t say so unless you plan to braid the excess hair onto the dread. (I could be wrong but I don’t believe it would work because there’s nothing for it really to “hold onto” per say

Do you have real dreads too? Finally im not the only one who puts dread extensions over top their natural dreads lol. I only dreaded half my hair, and I feel you just cant see them good enough without extensions, so I braid extensions over top of thrm lol

I’m only familiar with DE dreads but I think it’s cause my traction alopecia so I’m hoping SE will be better for me

They work for any hair type:) just braid them in, I also have installing syn dreads video for another method of installing them:)

When you do dreadlock extensions will your hair actually lock the dreads after a while so you no longer need the bands x

If you crochet the extensions in to your hair you won’t need a band :) check out my video tutorial on how I make dreadlocks :)
