You’re always so clever. I love how you incorporated the elastic into the burrito method. I don’t sell scrunchies but my hair is so long now and I’ve been making them from left over minky so that my hair doesn’t break when I wear it up after a shower. Thank you! I will need to try this method next.

good morning! I make scrunchies as they ARE a wonderful way to use up scraps, plus a quick way to add to your inventory for fairs & markets. *I make a lot of custom items that leave me with sports team and cartoon character scraps which help use up every single snippet of those more costly trademarked fabrics

Hi Christine! Thanks so much for this clever tutorial. I made a bunch for my granddaughter to go with things I sew for her. I ran out of elastic last time & I realized I could use elastic hair ties instead of the elastic. It's a real time saver and the hair elastics, I think, hold up better.

I join my elastic with sewing it too. I like it as it is neater and is nicer not to feel a lump in the scrunchie. I make scrunchies very similar but my seam ends up in the middle so it can't ever be seen when it is in the hair. It is fiddly no matter how wide the fabric because it is the elastic that causes it to be fiddly.

If you put the elastic in by threading it through, would you just make the tube and thread thru,or would you still need to fold the fabric as you just did? I always have issues where things are suppose to be straight forward…….it’s an old age thing I guess! Xx
