This is the EASIEST way to make a scrunchie. Give it a try!

FOR ONE SCRUNCHIE:
• CUT 1 piece of fabric - 3.5" x 24" (9 x 61 cm)

Scrunchies are so fun and easy to make. They work great in your hair--use them for a ponytail, bun, high ponytail, or as a bracelet till you're ready for a ponytail! I've made these for years, and now my daughter Lucy has been making them. In fact, making and selling scrunchies was the first "business" I had when I was just her age. Come make a scrunchie!...or 10.
SEWING MACHINE RECOMMENDS (affiliate):
In this video I'm using the cute JOY SEWING MACHINE, by Baby Lock. It's a great entry level machine and part of the Genuine series. There are other great machines in that series too...I also have the BRILLIANT (which I use in other videos). You can purchase online and read some reviews on this site:

I am 66 and just started sewing again. Kind of embarrassed to admit that a scrunchy intimidated me until I found your video. Thank you so much! I am making these to match the dresses I made for my great granddaughters. And then I'll just keep going. ❤

Just made a trial run on one of these tonight for my wife! She absolutely loves it! Never tried before, she only recently let her hair grow out! Thank you Dana!
There are 100 scrunchie videos on KZread, but as usual, Dana’s are always the easiest to follow! She also has the most fun voice.

Aww thank you Nanci!
You’re so wholesome, & it’s awesome that your daughter gravitated towards the same thing you did at her age.
In lock down all my hair clutchers are broken and I was desperately in need of scrunchies. And your video popped up. Thanks for reminding and I have made so many so far. 😊
Your videos are amazing! I have made bags, a circle skirt, scrunchies and countless other items with your awsome videos! I also loved your invisible stitch and how to sew zippers videos! It makes sewing things so much easier!
Thank You for a great video. Great instructions! I made one for my Wife using Valentine's Day fabric. I can't wait till the morning to see how she likes it. If she does, many more will follow. It is a quick and easy project.
Thanks to your videos, I started sewing again after 10 years! So grateful for you and your tutorials and patterns. Thank you!

I also grew up in the 80's. I had a lot of scrunchies, my favourite was light pink and soft. Now they are back and I now wear hot pink ones.

Best seamstress I've seen on KZread! Makes things so easy and not scary especially for a super duper beginner like myself...thank you !!
I love your videos so much! It’s nice to see a new one from you!!! I have really thick hair like yours and mine is super coarse. I was a kid of the 90s and we still used scrunchies. As a kid i lived in Hawaii and then LA so it got really hot. The problem was that every scrunchie would slip right out of my hair. I’m so grateful for Goodie or I’d be in trouble. I now live in Reno, Nv. You understand living in the desert and how miserably hot it gets in the summer and thick hair doesn’t help! Recently I’ve thought of making some scrunchies to see if they’d stay in my hair. In my profile pic I have pink and orange hair and now I have dark blue, teal and purple hair so I feel if I made my own I’d have more to chose from color wise that would look good with my hair. I’ve just been using black which is so boring lol.
oh my god that little book that’s such a cute idea ! i’m going to start doing that

I love your scrunchie video, Mrs. Willard. I have sown a couple of scrunchies by hand. I particularly wear my scrunchies as bracelets on my wrist. I recently started wearing them as a pony tail holder. I love scrunchies and I love wearing them on my wrist as bracelets

Came across your video. I had gotten tired of constantly buying Scrunchies. So since I had a ton of elastic left over from making masks for Covid for our local hospitals and medical facilities, I’d use it to make Scrunchies.
