DIY Security Camera System. Onwote 4k POE with NVR.

This is a step by step showing you how to install your own POE (power over ethernet) security camera system. You can get good coverage, have remote access by phone, and avoid the monthly service charges that come with your typical "door to door" sold systems.

Great review. Thorough. Covered everything. Motion blur. That's the only thing that puts me off. Wonder if it improves if frame rate is set to 5? I'm guessing it's either that it lacks processing power to process the image 25 times a second, so reducing to 5 would be a good test to see if it can cope with reduced rate. Maybe the sensor needs to be changed by the makers? Very good review though. I would watch more from you. You seem honest and smart, speak clearly and show all the steps. I'm in England and KZread through you into my algorithm near the top. You were in the first 6 videos when opened KZread. Just a fyi for you.

I appreciate your candid and straightforward explanations. I just came across your channel this evening and watched your trials and tribulations with the 30 x 40 building. We have similar interests. Great video. So your question about motion blur is actually rather simple to explain. (I'm also an IT guy and photography nut.) The reason for the motion blur is directly associated with storage. A security system usually runs all the time, even if it only records when motion is detected. Systems like these typically drop frames per second to save on storage space (which is limited). The higher the FPS, much more data is required to generate a good quality image, and therefore more storage is required. It may be possible to up that setting in your CCTV system. (Although, I kind of doubt it,) I am not familiar with this particular setup. You might check it out though. But if that setting actually does exist and you can increase it a good amount, you will be burning much more storage space. The other thing is the hardware. 4K video is huge at higher FPS. The very ability to handle 4 feeds with this 4K recording capability will be overwhelming on lesser hardware. I imagine many security systems just don't have the horsepower to handle that amount of data. I believe you said in this video that the system came with a 1 or 2TB hard drive. I'd be interested to know if you can open it up and replace it with a much higher density hard drive. They are so much cheaper than they were just a short time ago. If that's the case, and as importantly, you CAN change the settings of the system for higher frame rate then you'd be all set. Clear pictures in that full resolution. Or at least, better. Good luck and great videos - Thank you! Oh, I almost forgot. CODECS are very important for different video formats. They will not play without the proper CODECS correctly as BL Alley said.

Great presentation! When recording the video to the usb; I think you recorded in the wrong format.

If you were terminating cable anyway why not just buy bulk cable

It came with the cables, but I couldn't pull the terminated ends through the buried pipe.
