Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Today in the Smugglers Room we take on some DIY Secret Sci-Fi Tech hidden inside a vintage style case. Our fascination with all things Sci-Fi goes way beyond the normal props, and this week we try to push past our comfort zone and create something ridiculous!

BTW those are definitely heatsinks. Those particular LEDs are very bright and get extremely hot. I imagine they failed because the heatsinks appear to be aluminum instead of copper.

Next time you want to do light pipes like that, use hot glue sticks as diffusor rods to get a more even effect. You can also cut/slice them to make them fit inside or melt them into molds to make custom shapes. Additionally, the clear and black ones aren't the only ones. If you look closer, you'll find tons of colored translucent kinds out there and ones with glitter in them to make it even more extreme! As usual, keep in mind that there can be some yellowing over time, so choose your LED colors accordingly to account for that.

5:23 Holy cow! I still have one of those old camera flashes. Every so often I drag it out and the remains of my last box of flashbulbs and take a shot or two with my dad's old bellows film camera. The heat sink is off a "bay light" style 100w LED down lamp. The particular make and model is unknown but searching for either "round led heat sink" or "bay light LED" will get you somewhere in the right ball park. Alternatively try searching for "extruded aluminium radiator rod" and you can buy meters of the stuff and cut it to the desired length. Hope this helped. Keep up the awesome work.
