Just did this and I have a couple of notes. If you have a lot of hair, the sections are difficult to wrangle, so be patient and try to make them even as you can. Keep in mind that it seems all of the butterfly cut videos have the center part, so for those of us who *gasp* part on the side, you’ll have a heavier section that needs thinning bc it’ll be too chunky. I have professional-ish shears and thinning shears coming so I can refine things and soften things up on that thicker side. I was able to trim off 3-4” and still maintain decent length. Bring your patience and trust and this video on repeat. It does work! You may just need to go back and refine a bit after a blow dry to see where any chunks are. Hope this helps!😊

I just did this in 10 minutes and I love it! Thank you for showing this and now I don't have to go to a salon at all! Just decide how short you want the layers and go! To cut overall length part down back of head, pull to front cut straight across bottom to desired length and it falls into a nice U curve in back when done. I am happy!
@@madhabimaity5902 It has been 6 months since you asked the question and no-one has answered so here goes.............Take a look at the KZread videos where they part the hair at the back then pull it forward under the chin, and use an elastic band to tie the two pieces together into a beard under the chin, you then cut to the desired length. This means both sides are the same length and you get a u shape at the back. If you want more of a bob shape where it is shorter at the back and longer at the front, you in effect have to do the opposite, sweep all of your hair back to the nape of your neck , do a good job of combing it all back tightly, this ensures you get a good straight line. Tie a pony tail just about 2 fingers width below the bottom of the hairline for a shoulder length bob, or longer if you like, then cut.

I've been doing this cut at home for years now. Its the same result as the stylist I paid who pulled everything over the front and put my layers together for the flip I used to wear. Want more layers? Section it and cut again. I let my hair curl and this gives me what I need for natural or a steaight blow out on a roynd brush. I wear a side part. I dont thin the heavy side. I compensate by layering in a couple of extra long layers on the front section of the thin side and the curl does the work. I also dont use professional shears. I am not cutting someone else's head so weighted shears dont seem necessary. I bought a six dollar barber shear at Walmart and took it to the knife shope and had a blade sharpened on it for fifteen dollars. I was told by the people who stole it and gave it to a stylist it was better than a two hundred dollar professional scissor. Its all in how you look at it, I guess. I have to do a new one. I seriously need a cut. This is a good one. Its very versatile.

Hope this helps!😊

technique to recognize a professional: the dialogue goes through a diagnosis of texture, density, condition of the hair, etc. then what type of cut, the morphology of the face and the personality of the client... offers a haircut to do yourself at home equivalent to a solon cut provided you follow the tutorial well and cut a little hair when you are not sure and start again if the result is satisfactory. Omg I followed this tutorial yesterday and my hair looks gorgeous!! I will never go to a salon again. I wish I could show a picture.
OMG I just tried this on my daughter’s overdue hair and it came out perfect, as if she has gotten her haircut at the salon. So easy, thank you for this!
From the last 8 years, i have never been to salon for my hair cutting. As i always like to cut my own hair and do it just my way, the length i want, the bangs and many more❤
Perfect! Love it! I’m a hairstylist who no longer works (SAHM) so trying to find someone good and getting out of the house to get a haircut is mentally and emotionally exhausting! This is one of the best haircuts I’ve given myself, Thank You!!!! Turned out beautiful ♥️

you need to cut to the same length; the result after the cut will give you locks of different lengths forming layers on the lengths, once the hair gains the natural lengths longer at the back and short in the front and for more volume and movement after styling..

Can’t thank you enough for this! I usually cut my daughters super curly hair but she is now a missionary in Africa and no one there cuts curly white peoples hair😂😂😂. I was about to face time her and try to walk her through it, for the easiest way and just on a whim loomed up and saw your tutorial. Thanks so much!!! Can’t thank you enough

Thank you for this very simple and helpful visual of how to get a layer at home for the not so skilled wanna be beautician at home . I have watched so many video of them explaining and cutting and honestly it was hours of watching videos to not get anywhere close !!! This was perfect simple to the point and very easy to do . Wonderful video for sure and much appreciated
I used to do this by turning my head upside down. I'd look between my legs at the mirror and just cut straight across. Came out perfectly layered every time. But it's not so easy now that I'm older. Lmao. I'll try this way and see how it comes out.😊😊

I just did this in 10 minutes and I love it! Thank you for showing this and now I don't have to go to a salon at all! Just decide how short you want the layers and go! To cut overall length part down back of head, pull to front cut straight across bottom to desired length and it falls into a nice U curve in back when done. I am happy!

Really does it turns in U shape??
@softsophisticate
21 күн бұрын
OMG thank you so much. Will def try this. Love that its clear, no talking and straight to point. Sub!

I’m excited about trying this. I recently learned to groom dogs, so I’ve got decent shears. I’ve had some recent monthly expense increases so aim looking for services I’ve previously paid for that I can DIY. Since learning to groom dogs giving my three boys hair cuts has been any easy tradition. I needed a method or template for my own hair.

The hardest part of this cut is sectioning it off when you have a lot of hair, but if you take the time it is worth it. Within ten minutes I had a cut worthy of my $65 cut at the salon. This is my new go to when I need a haircut going forward. Thank you !

you can cut on wet or dry hair cutting on dry hair allows you to choose the right length, because wet hair always goes up as it dries tapering the ends of the hair brings movement and prevents scissor cuts that create a bar effect
Can the same technique be used on curly hair?

Thanks for sharing such an easy way to cut your own hair at home without any helper...❤ thanks
My step mother told me a story when she was a teenager she saved a lot of money to go to a famous hairdresser in Las Vegas and laid $200. He put her hair in a ponytail like this. She was shocked she paid that and she thought I can do that and that is what she did. So, I guess her $200 was an investment as she did it herself like that for years😂

I have a problem of splitends and due to layering I got it up till my shoulders, so 3 years ago I had my long hair cut till shoulder length with no layering/ step/ feather cut, jut straight cut to not have spliends in future... but here Im am suffering from split ends in the middle section of my hair, the hair in blue band in the video... This looks like it will solve my problem with no length reduction but will it cause split ends which I could not be able to cut in future? How to layer so that I trim the same hair everytime I do this. Thanks in advance
In my opinion, this kind of hair-cut fits best waved hairs.
Are they cutting straight across or kinda like at a certain angle i wanna try doing this cut😄😄
Doing this tonight ❤ it’s going to take me a lot longer than you but I have cut my own hair before 😊
I've been doing this cut at home for years now.
