Don't forget to glue seal the sides of the sheet so water does not drip out to maintain it not from drying up

These galvanic cells, or the metal air, or metal carbon tend to do between .6 and 1.4 volts and microamps per cell, from many KZread videos, I have binged watched. It is greatly dependent on surface area and whether they use salt or heavier acids and or alkalines. Like sulfic acid.

  • @versag3776

Sulfuric acid and H2O is best for copper zinc because the copper becomes cupricoxide as hydrogen transfers to the anode zinc sulfite is formed. Which could be rechargeable, reverse current would free up oxygen from coperic oxide rel back solid copper and zinc would release hydrogen ion back to electrolytic solution. The problem might be dendrites with the zinc sulfite or sulfate being a harder bond to break. Eventually leaning to internal short and galvanic corrosion. This is why batteries of the future will have solid electrolytes preventing this type of chemical failure. John B Goodenough claims to have invented a better battery than lithium ion ( his previous invention) and it's holding up to test results but also being kept hush at the moment for some reason. I'm sure it will make a presentation again soon.

  • @versag3776

@@athrunzala5337 In electrolysis of dilute sulphuric acid and Water would oxidise at anode and liberate oxygen gas. The reaction is as follows: At anode: H2O→O2+4e−+2H+. Not much sulfuric acid is needed, I believe the pH would only need to be 4. The goal is not to create electrolysis but move ions in a controlled reaction between two metals. The cathodic metal is the more noble of the two metals typically and is positive. The anode is negative. In a way left hand rule theory states the battery is anodizing the cathode with positive ions while negative ions flow in the opposite direction through the load (closed circuit, ie: light bulb, LED, amplifier etc) right hand rule follows the positive vacancies as one electron is pushed atom to atom. This is useful if you want to learn about electromagnetism, inductance resonance, impedance, capacitive induction, and how coils of wire create magnetic fields perpendicular to current flow it's called right hand rule because if your thumb follows direction of current flow the magnetic field curls around like your fingers. These equations were found by Maxwell and Faraday... that I would say Nicola Tesla nearly perfected later. I'll check out that pH number for copper-zinc batteries.

kzread.info/dash/bejne/e5hn1q5rmayWhto.html Here is a link to a KZreadr who explains the copper zinc sulfuric acid and addition of coperic sulfate CuSO4 adds more oxygen to solution for better amperage. He calls it a "gravity battery". You can increase surface area to the zinc by adding holes to the metal with a push pin or adding more strips connected together. If you do the molecular mass equations you could figure out how much electrolyte to add and how many plates you could add to optimize performance.

Interesting, but that is not a battery, it is a cell, you have to have 2 or more cells joined together before it becomes a battery (a battery of cells). Common usage, or misuse of the language finds that people will say an AA or AAA battery, but again they are not batteries, just cells.

for thiss low power input the heat wont be much but if you stack like 10 or 20 of them for better practicale applications you can prevent the overheating py stackinh metal straw or tue between them like so that the change of temperature the air inside the straw and the outside would create a air current that would result in the cooling of the batteries.

No need for copper plate, thin steel will work just as well. Surround it with a mix of charcoal lye graphite and rust or manganese dioxide. Wrap with paper towel and sandwitch with two plates of zinc aluminum or magnesium. Seal in a plastic bag. You get 1.2 to 1.6V for zinc, 1.4 to 1.7v for aluminum, and 1.5 to 1.8V for magnesium. Magnesium is use it or lose it, and should be put to use immediately after assembly.

The amperage depends on the cell voltage and resistance of the load, as well as the equivilant series resistance of the cell. Example: The cell provides 1.2V, and we have a 10R load. Let's assume the ESR of the cell is 50R, since it's a simple homemade one. First, we'll add the resistances: 10 + 50 = 60R. Now we can use ohms law to calculate the current (I=V/R) 1.2/60 = 0.02. So we have 0.02A (20mA) of current flow.

Hello very nice videos your are making Is there a possibility to make a video for making a really battery for use in photovoltaic (of grid situations) With a very big capacity? The dimensions and the weight it is not at all critical or problem there's on lot of space Thank you very much for your time

Batteries don't really do very big capacities. An average house uses 55 kwh in a day. The biggest commercial batteries can store a little bit less than 15kw. You'd need 4 of those just to cover a day, let's say you really want a BIG capacity, a month's worth of electricity. That's 120 batteries Stacking them 3 ontop of eachother, would reach from floor to ceiling and cover at least 2 walls in a normal sized livingroom. So, space is not the issue. Cost is: A setup like that would run you $1.2 million. Sure, you can do it cheaper by making batteries yourself, but keep in mind that with commercial grade batteries still have issues in the kind of power you get out of the battery. It's not recommended to use solarpower batteries to charge electric cars for example because the poweroutput is too low, so you should charge your car directly from the solar panel, for example. That issue would be even worse if you made them yourself, requiring more space and yielding worse output. You'd probably be looking at filling your entire livingroom with batteries at that point, at least a cost of 45k and then doing all the labour yourself. Mind you this is just the first step in making a battery, you'd need to layer this many, many times over and encase it in something that is absolutely airtight, in a clean room enviroment. And for what? Storing $300-$400 of electricity? You'd need to use that battery power consistantly for about 10 years before you even make the money back that it cost you to build the damn thing. And since you're not going to be using it non stop we're looking at a best case scenario looking at 30-40 years or so, and mind you - these batteries won't last that long. So you'd actually be losing money on doing this.
