I made this type of battery in my childhood, just rechargeable one. But both electrodes were made of graphite rods and had the same design. There was no aluminum at all, the cell was made just of charcoal, graphite and salt water, and some vessel, of cause, in my case it was tin can (really bad idea, because it rusted very soon). Being fully charged, it gave 2,2 volts with quite small current.

If you activate the charcoal will it increase conductivity or do you need too buy actual carbon powder...I have an idea off mixing carbon powder quartz powder a metal powder maybe aluminium or also maybe vanadium crushed into powder and mix it all together with either thermal plaster or a conductive glue and add some oil or grease for the extra liquid content and salt then press into sheets...then stack a piece off that with a piece off metal in a volta stack and alternate them in a stack and try it as a dry battery if not add a substrate n make a wet battery stack....do you think this would be worth trying a design like this...cheerrs

Also, when you can clearly see charcoal blobbed over to the aluminum at the end. Bruh, you could have done this for real - no need to scam.

Why use aluminium? Have you tried to use Zinc?

These billion useless masks found a way to be useful 😂😂 Great guy ! Go ahead ! Zinc-carbon battery, also called the Leclanché cell, is a traditional general-purpose dry cell. Invented by the French engineer Georges Leclanché in 1866, it immediately became a commercial success in large sizes because of its readily available low-cost constituent materials. It remains the least expensive dry cell and is available nearly. After a while the zinc is "eaten" by ion exchanges and cell is leaking. Then charcoal can be used to draw portraits 😊😊😊😊

Presentation spoiled by too much explanation. i.e. "now i will do dis" and "now i will do dat" It can be seen on the video what the handler is doing. A minimum amount of words would be better. Also coca cola cans would have done the job

Looks pretty useless, to me. I don't believe you can recharge it, and I doubt very much that it has a usable power density figure. If you don't know, that is how many amp-hours of charge it can accept and discharge, per unit of weight. Nor can that chemistry source enough current to be practical. Similar to a carbon/zinc alkaline battery, but much weaker. Waste of time and materials. Why not try to invent or discover a battery chemistry that is actually practical, cheap, safe, and all that? I can make a battery out of a potato. That doesn't mean I want to try to haul a semi truck full of potatoes around and hope that they can source enough power to do the hauling of them. Perhaps you could explore Nickel-Iron batteries and figure out how to manage their shortcomings.
