Considering how meticulous you are with your building work this comes as no surprise. It is not what you do or with what you do it, it is all about the mindset you do it with and that is sadly becoming a rare commodity nowadays. Keep up the good work and good vibes. Greetings from South Africa.

Yo scott, I used to be a cabinet maker and worked with a lot of laminated sheets, we used to sand the laminated part with 100 grid to make it a bit rough, u can use masking tape to make sure you don’t sand the part that will be seen. after that u can use regular wood glue no problem.

I was going to say the same thing, Ive found that PU glue works very well, also if you get stuck you can use a double-sided tape that has a thick gum. I once used some double sided to stick a drawer front on that i couldn't get a clamp on and didnt want to pin it. i actually had to wack the drawer front with a rubber mallet to get it off.

The author does like to from scratch, kzread.infoUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. As another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us don’t have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practise the full stack project, is still great.

Great job on the laundry, Scott! Now, as far as your haircut - a friend once gave me valuable advice on relationships. Jess - Nice haircut - it looks fantastic!

Those cabinets look fantastic! I’m glad you’re not in my part of the world. 😉 I have a cabinet shop here in Southern California, USA. Here’s what I do. Thin strips of laminate are mounted by taking those long strips of toe kick and other molding to the band saw or table saw and removing the laminate off of the back side. That will expose the wood (timber) and allow you to make a glue joint on those blocks you installed up top. Construction adhesive is used to glue it up. Hot glue or small strips of 3M double sided tape every 8-12 inches (20-30 cm) will hold those pieces in place while the glue dries. I use this technic for crown moulding too so I don’t have to fill any nail holes. BTW, the clips aren’t too bad. Lay the toe kick face down in front of the cabinet just like you were to flip it down. Mark the location of the base cabinet feet and then screw the clips into place. That’s it. I hate laminate btw. Fresh cut edges always cut up your hands. Hope this helps.

You did a great job. I’ve been doing cabinets for 17 years. A helpful hint with that tow kick is to snip off the little plastic bit on the clip so they’re a flat surface. Then silicone the kick to those clips so they’re still removable and you don’t have to silicone them to the floor or use screws.

2:13 TIP for ppl who “don’t know”. If don’t have test pieces and this happens, make another cut and, making double width biscuit AND then just add 2 biscuits w/ glue and ya don’t need to redo a finished piece (if finished, of course), or don’ t have extra material or don’t feel like running out for more material and starting over.👍🏻😉

With biscuits you don’t have to be perfectly aligned as you did with the slots. As long as the depth from the edge is right then you can give yourself a wide slot to put the biscuit in (move jointer from side to side or use a router with a biscuit bit) with a wide margin for error

Just done a utility room project very similar to this my own garage. I used white mfc board and a track saw. Came out well but took me ages. I’m now making fitted wardrobes for the bedrooms and I’ve designed the units and had them cnc’d and edge banded by the board supplier, so all I’m doing is making the scribed trim panels and screwing it all together. Only cost £150 more per room than having the full boards delivered. Worth it to save me a month of weekends per room I think!

I put my laminated ply together with pocketholes and screwed it, no glue. Easy! And it's held up very well after 3 years of driving around in the van. Also very handy to pull things apart again. The trick is to use the correct screws (that don't have thread all the way to the head) so it really pulls everything together tight. But not very popular among purist carpenters but screw them haha...

Great job and episode as always, tip top! The heat pump dryer is similar to a normal condeser dryer in the sense that both can have water collected in the tray or connected to a drain pipe. The main difference is that a heat pump dryer uses (as the name suggests) a heat pump to recycle the hot air. This means they use much less energy than a condenser or vented dryer so electricity bills aren't that painful ;D

Awesome job Scott. Bit late to the party/your channel but have been catching up! From an Auckland based cabinet maker 👍

Good work on the biscuit jointer. Use mine loads for building units etc 👍

Nice. I’m about to start my first cabinetry too. I have the track saw, the clamps, and self centering bits, but no biscuit jointer. One thing I have splashed out in is the Parf system. I haven’t used it yet, but it looks awesome, especially if you’ve already got a track saw. And not so important, but “heat pump” refers to the way the heat is generated, the bit you pointed out was the fact that it is a condensing dryer :)

Good idea on that trim piece above the cabinets. I've got a similar problem and I've been kicking around ideas on how to finish it off. The gap on mine, from the cabinet to the ceiling, is just about 1". I was thinking of putting in some hidden rope lighting but I hesitate because of the grime that would accumulate. I may just end up doing what you did.

That's superb! Better made than most kitchens and this is just a laundry room in a garage! As for the Bench/Countertop, you could add 'Worktop' to that list for us in the UK. :)

Hey Scott, you did a super job!! Watch out though cause I am afraid that your biscuit jointer base plate was not on a square angle. Anyhow the result is superb!

For the railsquare i've taken another rail and cut it in half at 1/3. Makes it a handy-er when cutting small pieces. Almost a Festool HKC 55 with attached rail.
