Bro, you really have passion for your work. Everything is so tidy organized, reveling the love for what you do. It is remains me of when I started working as a handyman here in California, then became a pro-painter and thought about having my own company. Talking about tools and strategies for work projects was what kept me motivated. I am 32 y/o now with twin girls and a body that feels overworked, I didn't take good care of it(too much overtime for family reasons). Now I have to worry about the future of my girls and I feel that I have to prepare for my inevitable future as well. I got a good/stable job as painter and I don't have to worry about buying tools for projects of my own. This gives me peace of mind for now and the future. However, I still want to live the life you are enjoying today bro. Be as enthusiastic for what you do bro. Cheers Scott, God bless you and keep the good work!!

The stealth mounts are a great idea, I know of a plumber who used to just throw his batteries in the back loosely, until one of them shorted out on some wire wool, totally gutted his van, lithium iron batteries are very dangerous if not stored properly. I've got about 14 Bosch 18 v batteries, and I always keep them in the tools, the new bosch sds plus has mounts built into the case to store spare batteries.

I recently took all my saw brackets off my saws, and mounted one set to a piece of plywood and put a cleat across the back. So I put the “saw table” on the stand, then I can just use any saw, and the saws take up less space when stored.

I’ve been in hiaces for the last 10 years, ranging from 2004 model year to present and the newest one is so far ahead of the old design. If you’re thinking about getting one you will not be disappointed! comfortable, quiet and safe. I can easily look past the shorter cargo area with all these benefits, you learn to use the extra width you have over the length. Sorry if this started to sound a bit erotic towards the end 😆

Only two engine options available here, the 1GD-FTV 2.8L diesel, which has been a bit questionable in terms of reliability over the past few years, or the 2GR-FKS 3.5L V6 petrol, which is a brilliant engine, but an absolute gas guzzler

That's an incredibly functional and organized way of loading up a van. Best part is that you made all of it yourself. Kudos on some of the cinematography you include in your work, that's a nice touch. You can get kits to add on features like back-up cameras and Bluetooth radios to these older vehicles. Its usually very simple to have that added and knowing how clever you are, you could likely do it yourself. You can even go for window scrolling mechanism as well, they just pop a motor inside the door panel and slip a cog over where the handle normally sits and voila!

I had a Merc MB140D as a courier van back in 2000, large enough to take my whole days deliveries instead of 3 trips with the Hi-Ace. If you had a frontal the engine was designed to drop and roll under the chassis and the steering wheel would colapse and move forward; it was also cheaper than a new Hi-ace; only downside was 1 side door on the passengers side.

Took me ages to realise which tools and consumables I need every day ( basic tools plus paints, plastering repairs etc) then the ability to add benchsaw etc Key to mine was ability to be ablle ro carry 2400x1200 sheet on top. Handy when raining AND can be used for camper awning etc!Q!!

Tool storage is an evolution. Make everything as best as you can, because when time passes and hindsight kicks in after use, you see what you “should “ have done. So set yourself up to be able to modify your set up easily. I think this process of storing your gear, designing and building, really improves you as a carpenter in all aspects. You get to test your theory’s and methods to hard use or get to learn a new skill through intense repetition. For instance I used pocket holes to build 90% of my trailer to see it’s Applications and limitations. Let the sawdust fly and have fun!

Hi Scott, good video. You can really get a lot of stuff into your van. I to have tricked out my van, often when people see it they get van envy. You should treat your sliding doors to a bit of silicon spray, you won't regret it.

Great vid as always Scotty! I’ve been watching for a while and am going to buy some merch, but you need the van logo on a mug! Cheers from your neighbour 🇦🇺

I really like this van setup. You could even throw a mattress on the top board and use it for camping?

I have traveled around New Zealand with a similar fit out. It was an older van that had sliding windows though. Crucial when the sun starts coming up.
