DIY Overland Truck Camper Part 17 (Slide out kitchen addition)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Just a quick video of a small spice rack I built with the little space left on the pull out kitchen.
I am now searching for the material for my tent and I'm looking forward to setting that up. So it may be a little bit before that video comes out. I may film some of the smaller things, like this spice rack, in the meantime while I await for my material to come in.
I would like to once again take the time to thank everyone for your support and your ideas. Please keep them coming. And to mention that it is starting to seem very likely that I may reach the 1000 subscribers mark. And if this happens, I have a plan from there that you can find on my website. I thank you again for all your support and look forward to seeing where this may go and how this may reach out and help many other people in many ways.

Fridge in this video is a Dometic CFX3 95DZ. I love this fridge. While not cheap. I cross my fingers that it pays itself off over the next few years. I will have future videos on this fridge and my overall thoughts. But as you can see, I am pretty happy with it as of now.

lol I'm glad I don't make them longer then 5 min each. I would hate to be the cause for someone being stuck in their homes all week.

I’m popping through your videos on this project, very cool. The best part for me is watching how you involve your kids, letting them be a part of this project. Kudos & much respect from one parent to another.

Hey, Right now its all about the camper. I am doing this for my family. And they know me(although some may never admit to it). Once the camper is done and we start moving around there will be more added to the story.

Why 2x4s? I would think a 2x2 with glue would be good too? It would save weight. You are doing a really good and smart job. Love your kids.

hey man, please keep these vids coming. I binge watched all of them tonight as I prepare to do something similar to keep me occupied this winter in Seattle area. Would you consider making one detailing out how you hook up power, what you'll use for cooking, and what your plans are for the sleeping arrangements upstairs? also how you'll finish the inside, if you will at all, or if you'll leave it raw wood. thank you so much for all of these vids!!

I will be adding the canvas some time in the next few weeks. And once it is completely closed in I will add the electrical and water. I also have a whole diagram that I'll be sharing in those videos. And as for the rest. I will have a walk through video once the canvas is complete to show everything that I have up to that point and how I am using it at that point. I do have an answer and a plan for all your questions in my upcoming videos. Thanks for watching. I really do appreciate the comments.

That would be so cool! Honestly having the diagrams or really any point of reference would be extremely helpful just so that im not buying 2x4’s and other lumber that’s not completely necessary. I’m also curious what you do for the canvas to make it water tight, or if you don’t really care about that, and only anticipate using the pop top in nice weather.

@@millennialfisherman4212 I am still trying to get some canvas. Seems hard to gather in my area and it's being shipped right now. But I will be using waterproof canvas as I plan to use this all year round. And our winters are mostly rain. So I'll need the protection.

So you sprayed some sort of finish on the outside to waterproof it? Thanks!

Just watched all your videos on this. Very interesting. I've already got the itch to overland... this just makes me want to do it more. Great job. I read that this is pretty much a prototype?

Thank you. And yes. This is a prototype. I plan to rebuild in the next year or two out of proper material. I live in a space that I can't just do welding in my backyard. Or other types of work. So I started with this prototype to make a cheaper camper that I can modify if I think of something else I want to do. My work will most possibly move me in the next couple years and my next home will have this in mind.

Actually no. You have to remember that this is just a topper. I am nowhere near the capacity of this truck.
