yes it is a long Video but half way into i got more and more ideas.... and don't judge me on my knife sharpening skills ;)
The grinder is actully a polishing machine (rotation 900-2500)
It was importent for me that its possible to change the belts fast and easy.
One problem are the diffrent belts, they have allways a littlebit tolerance in length! That why i came up with spanning system and its also self tighten :)
The hole Video took way longer as I thought but I'm very happy with the final result.
I had a lot of fun to build that Beltsander and I hope you get inspired for your own projects :)
If you liked it, I would be happy about a thumb up or a sub.

Wow, that's one versatile grinder, nice job. If I may give you a tip, when grinding the edge of a blade with a machine, dip the blade in water every few strokes to keep it cool. This way you don't mess up the heat treath so your knife won't go dull after a little use.

I have plans for making a 72x2" beltgrinder but never got around to it. For this year my goal is to build and finish my CNC Lathe, it is coming along quite nicely. Anyway, I enjoyed every minute of your video, thanks.

Or something else?? And what brand is your marking gauge and pen?? In UK is hard to get marking gauge (metric) but order in Poland and send to UK is horrible expensive tool 😁😁 Chears. P.
