Great video. Having a simple sliding shelf is perfect. Adding some paste wax to the bottom will also make it slide real easy.
just completed the first one you did and by far my favorite. I moved the scrap bin to the middle shelf and was able to use the bottom for more storage that is always in great demand. Thanks for the update. My next project is going to be your assembly table/work bench.
Awesome, compact build. I can definitely understand why it gets so much use. I was happy to see that you put a back in the bin slot. I imagine that’s pretty critical to keeping the cabinet stable. Nice work!
I bought the plans for this stand a while back and they were easy to follow. The stand turned out perfect and I use it all of the time.Really convenient being able to roll it around the shop, and I've added casters to most of my other saws and stands because it works so well.
I just bought my very first miter saw yesterday. Yes it's a sliding miter saw with 10" Saw blade. I feel really blessed after watching your video, since I already make my own miter saw station drawing and doesn't even notice about the sliding and the miter angle problem. Now my homework is to Remeasuring, redrawing just to make sure there is no problem will be happening tomorrow on the build process. Thank you so much.
I could see this easily built stand being the most popular build especially among us that have limited space. Excellent!

I agree. But I'm curious with a shop as massive as yours why you (April) feel you still need a portable, wing-based mitre stand? The beauty of such a shop is that you can have a dedicated mitre saw station complete with adjustable stop blocks and built in tape measure not prone to wandering. A Master Carpenter friend of mine has just such a station. Now that I have the blessing of being able to afford a custom shop build I planned on having a dedicated, stationary mitre station. Pray, tell your logic for the mobility factor. If the reason is just to create content for the small/temporary shop folks that’s cool too, but it seems like a “real shop” necessitates permanent workstations and deliberate world flow without setup and tear down. That was the bane of my existence in my previous two car garage “shop.” Which never saw a parked car in the past 15 years.
April. Thank you so much for all you do for us “wannabe wood workers.” I have used several of your plans, watched tons of your videos, and improved my shop and my skills at the same time. You are the best. Thanks!

Aloha April or anyone. Working this project. Downloaded your plans. Question. What is the large angle cut for the two wing support pieces? 45 degrees? Big thanks.
Perfect timing! I just watched the video of your old miter stand over the weekend and was wishing it actually showed you building it.
Great stand! I built mine based off your original design years ago and I use it all the time. I put three drawers in the center and use it for small tool and fastener storage.
Yes!!! Thank you for posting. This is definitely on my build list. Maybe with some measurements tape and stops in the wings
Hey April, Small shop with big DeWalt 12" compound sliding mitre saw. No room on my workbench so was using the heavy duty mitre saw stand that was made for the saw. Had to use outside and was very heavy and time consuming to set up. Was concerned if your plywood rolling stand would support the weight. Great news, it works perfect ! Bought your plans and with a few modifications due to the size of my mitre saw, ended up being a very easy and quick build. I now have space to utilize my mitre saw inside my small shop. The folding wings gives the stand a small footprint that I needed. Your Mobile Mitre Saw Stand works FANTASTIC !
Gosh, it's so practical!! And you did a great job narrating and editing this video all together. Thanks for sharing!
I love this miter station. I was going to install my miter saw on a work bench, but I love this idea much better to keep my bench open for other projects. I’m totally going to build one of these!
Wonderful project! I love how you aren't afraid to show your mistakes if made. You're quite the inspiration. Great job!
Great! Will use this as inspiration for mitre saw stand (on top) and shop vac storage (on bottom). Shop vac can also be used as dust management when using mitre saw.
April, I love your rolling sliding mitre saw stand. I’ve seen other KZreadrs make them, but yours makes the most sense and is very practical. I’m making it

Don Whitehead did you make it?
I was jealous enough of your shop space before the clear/tall wall thumbnail picture. Great dream shop inspiration in your vids.
I love your builds. It is also great to see a lady so passionate about wood working/making. Keep up the great work.
Cool stand. I think I’m going to build one since I’m super short on space in my garage shop. Thanks for all the great content! Best of luck to you.
April, Been looking to build a mitre stand and get rid of the metal pipe stand. Your design is the one I'm going with. At 73 I'm still learning. I really enjoy your channel.
Nice miter saw work station. Simple design and easy to assemble. Thank you for sharing.
Hi April ! You make the build look so simple. It's really motivating to try making one. Many thanks.
Nice build April. I built one of these and didnt like the casters myself. Then went all out on a stand alone miter station. I guess it's all about what works for you, in each individual's shop. I alwase enjoy your videos. Keep em coming. Thanks.
Great job, April! I really need to do this! I have my miter saw sitting on my table saw. Have to drag the table saw around the garage if I dont want to cut wood on the floor.
I like the way you make it so clear exactly what you are doing, and why. After seeing one of your build videos, I feel ready to do it myself.
Good job, April. Always enjoy your breezy but precise build videos. I’ll be building this simple, fine concept.
Thanks for a great build. What I like is that it is simple, straightforward, and with very simple tools. I do need to build this.
I purchased the plans and built it this past weekend. Instead of the cut off box I built two drawers on full extension slides. I wasn't comfortable relying solely on the pocket screws to hold the weight of the saw so I also used 3 dowels on each side to lend extra support. I need to finish up the drawer fronts this week to wrap it up. I had to make mine about 5 inches wider to accommodate my 12" compound slider. I like it and now have two more drawers to fill up with tools!
Hi April! I am a believer in keeping things portable as my shop is in a small basement. I was watching Dave Stanton's live feed and he informed us you hit a million subscribers. Congrats!!
I really love your videos. About to begin making a stand for my miter saw. Thought your video was very informative to the female woodworker since it is from one woodworker to another.
April you are the best to find out what to do on my projects. Thank You for your help.
I made one of these a while back based on your idea and it's been great. Makes cutting long stock a lot easier and safer. Thank you. I love your work.
This looks incredible. I stumbled upon this video while looking for a mobile display cart for market displays. I’m not good at building things but I have a few uncles and cousins who are. I’m going to show this to them and see how much they’ll charge me to build it for me. Thanks for sharing.
You inspire me to try to do different things.. and your descriptions just simply get a idea on what to do without making judgments on how you make it.
I have held onto this video for some time, have just bought the plans and will be building very soon. Thanks April, I think this will be just the ticket for our needs.
I really like the smallness of this table. Can’t wait to try this.
Loved to original design, this is nice improvement. Thanks April (one of my KZread heros). i notice bottom holds the sides via screws only, no plywood support, IF it loosens over time, maybe a cleat would help, all in all, a very clean design.
One million awesome subscribers!!! Congratulations April. You are so freakin' awesome! I love your doggies too. Great build. You make it look so easy.
Love the stand, I definitely need the foot space in my shop, so I will be building one this weekend. Thanks for sharing.
April. Me and my dad built one of these for my shop form your plans. It is one of the most used tools in my shop. We even added some 1x2 to the wings for a longer fence. Thanks for sharing. It is also the first thing me and my dad built together since I was a kid. I wanted to add a photo but I can't seem to figure out how. Thanks again.
I love it! I’m definitely going to build a similar one for myself...once I shovel a path out to my garage! I’m thinking if I leave out the scrap box on the bottom I can use it to store my saw when I’m not using it and cut an insert for the top so it can double as a rolling workbench when I don’t need the saw.
Thank you for a well done video and solution to wearing out my back lugging my saw!
Super good, I am SO building this. Only change, I would put the lower drawer on ball bearing drawer slides. Thanks!
April, love your videos. I chuckled when you made the mistake when drilling those holes. Glad to see even a pro such as yourself can make mistakes. I don't feel so bad now when I make them. Keep up the good work.
girl power! I also love woodwork, and it makes me so happy to see another woman with this talent.
Nice work! It looks like a take on the Woodsmith Shop plans, but with a wider wings. I kinda like the wider wings on yours. The great thing about these is you can go to town with features such as rails, clamps, stops, etc., or keep it simple. I saw one recently where the person who built it actually built wings that doubled as storage boxes. It's really only limited by one's creativity, and you definitely have that in spades. I've been designing one that uses stock unfinished red oak kitchen cabinet boxes. Thanks for sharing and inspiring us all.
I like to be able to take my saw to my work outside too. So I baught a Rigid universal stand for my Ridgid sliding compound miter saw. It has 12inch wheels for ruff uneven ground. But your miter stand is a good solution for a shop use stand April. Great video too.
Been watching for years. Since the tiny space to this large shop. So happy to see you have stayed true to who you are. Always excellent instructions / voice-over's to what you are doing. Hard work paying off.

Thanks for the feedback and for staying around through the years. Glad you enjoy the channel. Cheers!
Very impressive. This is a must for me when i get my garage finished!!! Cant wait!!!
Amazing build, just bought a new miter saw for the garage and I'm definitely gonna give this a shot. Thanks for sharing!
Looking great, love it. I like your idea of with moving your tools so you get better use of your space. Thank you for sharing your amazing idea. God bless you and your family
Great job as always. After wrestling with a store bought miter saw stand I am going back to a portable stand for my sliding miter saw again. Thanks again April.
I am going to build this in my small shop. Thanks for the great videos and common sense ideas.
Great build!!! Bottom mount bearing slides for the drawer would be great.
Building mobile carts for my bigger tools is in my near future. Definitely taking notes here. Thanks for sharing!
you are the best in the business, keep them coming, you made me love wood working by explaining it simply and easy. I'm almost 50 but I want to be like you when I grow up. LOL
April, well explained. Good design...the only thing I would do differently is install locking casters. Thank you for sharing this.
I made mine this weekend, with a few steps to tidy up. On my one, the stop for the supporting arm makes the top bit stick out to the side because I used a fairly wide offcut. I'm planning to cut out a gap in the supporting arm so that the top sits flush with the supporting arm when it's down.
Thank you. Just bought the plans. Will build this once I finish my lathe stand 😊
Awesome! Just what I need for my new miter saw. Thanks for the motivation and tips!
Started yesterday with some left over 3/4 red oak plywood. Only thing that stopped us from finishing yesterday was we needed the back piece. So with a couple of minor alterations to your plans we got it complete today and 100% fully functional. We have a 12" Dewalt miter saw, so its heavy. We added 2x4 supports along the edges of the saw tray. Still not sure how but one fold out tray no mater what I did, it swings out about 3/16s low at the meeting point once we started setting up plum. Still have a few extras we plan on putting on it but was using it this after noon. Thanks for the easy to understand plans.
This is an excellent idea. It is a vast improvement on the Frankenstein saw-horse contraption I currently use.
1:49 Thank you for including oopsies like this - it makes me feel better knowing that mistakes happen to even the best of the best.
I came here from the channel fix this build that, and I am glad I did. I have yet to start any projects but watching this video and soon more of your videos have me inspired to build stuff and one day making my own projects.
I love all of your builds . I only hope to have a nice workshop like yours when I'm done building mine.
Great video April. I'm in the process of building a new shop and love having mobile tools. Can't wait to see the next one!
I looked at many of them and yours is simple, sturdy and makes a lot of sense. Thanks for your video.
Awesome build I just picked up my dual bevel compound slider this will be perfect for it thank you
Built my stand with your plans. Workedwell. Got a little mixed up on how to attach the wings to the stand but figured it out by watching your video, 3:43 (a couple of times). Thanks again.
I like it! Wish I’d seen yours before I built mine, but I searched mobile mitre saw tables and got you. I was looking for a good way to add wings to mine and I love your way of doing it!
Best miter saw stand I've seen. I love your work.
Great Video!!! I used this as the design for my stand.....but I messed up and made my wings to high so if I'm cutting shorter stock I still need the wings out..... but it still works!!
Fantastic build. I don't have a miter saw, but I'd still love to build this for some of my other "toys".
Great build April! Have an awesome week!😃
I built mine last week. I failed to measure the width of my Sliding Miter Saw, so I ended up making some mods to avoid cutting new shelves for the whole thing. Still haven't made the drawer for the bottom cause I might use that space another way. Thanks for all of your great videos. You make it look so easy.
Great work! Thanks for taking the time to make, film, edit and share
I made one of these a while back based on your original that I saw in previous videos. It does not look as well put together as yours but I do love it, as I like to move my shop into the driveway when it is nice outside. I may have to go back and remake mine soon as well. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!
Nice build. Went searching for an idea hoping to find one like yours as I will be commencing a little remodel project, with long trim boards, so wanted a portable stand for a soon-to-be-delivered new miter saw (everything in my shop is also on wheels, even my scrap bins), but I'll be temporarily locating this in a bedroom, so also needed to be light enough to carry up a couple flights of stairs.
Great project for me to complete. Thank you April for the great idea 👍
Awesome. I need to try to build one for my mitre saw. Thanks, April.
I've been thinking about a similar plan for a while now. This video helped clear up some of plan ideas. I was thinking of putting a back on for additional side to side structural support and because I have a very small shop space I was actually thinking of putting the miter saw on a plywood tray that can be pulled out and possibly swapped with a small table saw (also on a tray) just at a lower level so the work surfaces are the same height. then adding a flip up back support for use as an out feed table. This gives me lots of ideas. Thanks for the video!
Thanks April for another great video of a very simple and useful project.
Great build and great stand. Very impressed. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the heads up on that quick set glue.
Another great video April. I have a mobile box that I use for my sliding compound mitre saw now and was just thinking the other day I needed wings for it. Your video just came at the right time. Thanks.
Great and simple stand April. This is, as you said, a one-day build and will be a great addition to my garage shop. Thanks for all your great videos.

Nice. Going to make one soon. Just made a small outfeed table as im busy re-building pinball machines.
Great build !! Def works well , smart and efficient
This is a great idea, we are getting a new place so I will have a nice shop. A mobile miter saw table would work great in the shop.
April, found your site a little while ago- great designs, wonderful work ethic! My background as a construction contractor (Plumbing/ HVAC/ Associated electric), has gifted me with a very thorough idea when judging how people will accomplish tasks- you are a jewel at not just designing and building, your sense of motion and safe lifting and control of heavy or unwieldy objects is astonishing. I would ask, did someone teach you or was that never to be underestimated rural Texas (I'm From Dallas!) the source of your strong safe practices? I would use your videos to help teach others, but have been retired for a few years now- I hope others will learn some of the many skills, large and small that you present! Thanks!
I have always loved your channel. I have been following your videos now for nearly 4 years and I think that you are one of the very best DIY home build vlogers to watch. I appreciate that you build things that are useful to you and your explanations are simple and very easy to follow. Thank you so much for what you do.

Truly great video! This is exactly what I was looking for, and I love your concise down to business approach.
I hope I can build one after I build my workshop. I really like the space it saves.
Cool vid, just finishing my new workshop( large shed) project. I needed a solution to my mitresaw table, but you’ve solved it for me. Many thanks, all the way from🇬🇧.
