Girl, your videos are so REALISTIC and I appreciate that you don't edit out the struggles because all of us have them when attempting DIYs. 😊 Quick suggestion for future, if you're going to use a Chalk/Clay based paint the benefit of that is you DON'T have to sand or prime first - they adhere like magic to any surface, even laminate. You were doing all that sanding and I was thinking "I guess she's gonna go with an acrylic paint" 😆 My top tip for chalk furniture paints is to avoid the mainstream brands which typically aren't "true" chalk paints -- that's why they're cheaper and some make you sand or prime -- and instead add to your arsenal indie women-owned brands "Miss Lillian's Chock Paint" (the line has literally hundreds of colors) and "Debi's DIY Paint" (her paints or super pigmented so a little goes a long way, and work the absolute best for no-prime situations like this, but fewer colors in the line).OH also there is a new brand "Daydream Apothecary" which has the ONLY line of chalk paint in NEON colors and they're also women owned. Ok let me unpause and watch the rest of this DIY ❤️

OMG thank you for all these company recommendations! Wow. I can’t wait to check those out. (And they make NEON???? Can’t wait.) I def did all that extra work since I was using a cheaper brand and because I was worried about any chips on the top knowing there would be heavy liquor bottles sitting on it (and, realistically, drunkenly slammed down on it 😂). ME AGAIN 🤣this video was so perfect for me because I've also been on a bar hunt for months now and I didn't even consider old microwave carts 🤯👏🏾👏🏾Regarding brush strokes, if you use a self-leveling chalk paint you don't have to worry about it. One such chalk paint brand is "Miss Lillian's Chock Paint" her paint brand is also one of the best to use for painting & dying fabric/upholstery because it also doesn't require a top coat to seal it. I know I'm such a no it all but I love your content and I can't stop myself from wanting to help make your life a little easier 😆

@@LaughCryDIY in our birth charts we have what’s called our big 3, which is what you just listed, and those are the sun, moon, and rising sign. The sun is what we embody each day and our personality/ego, whereas our moon sign explains our inner core and emotions. Rising sign is the persona we give off to people when first meeting them. I sometimes get peoples’ rising sign and sun sign mixed up. Astrology is very interesting and pretty accurate!!

Sorry I'm late to this party, but when you were filling in the roll door slot I think you would've had better luck and used less if you used caulk saver. It's a poly foam that's used in larger gaps of projects so that way you're not jamming loads of caulk, or in this case wood filler, into that huge gap

Watching you do this brings back my PTSD from all the years trying to make cheap melamine furniture look like my style. This was in the 80s, and before today's melamine and chalk paints so everything I put on it just slid right off!! It was early in my diy journey, and of course there was no KZread, Google or any way to find answers. After trying everything I could think of to get the paint to stick, I was ready to slit my wrists and see if the blood would stick!! Eventually, I ended up wallpapering the damn thing and swore I'd never use melamine furniture again!!

I did! I actually cut another piece and stained it to replace it. It came out the same perfect match, but I was afraid it wouldn’t if I tried to customize for the bar. Figured If it didn’t at least it would be covered up by the books on grandpa’s bookcase. Also, Grandpa worked for GM his whole life, so I figured he would approve of it being used for a bar that looks like a classic car. RIP. 🍸
