I'll give it a like man just because at the end of the video you said it wasn't a pro job .. you knew what u wanted An got it done so props for that.. here's a few tips for next time... 1 that load resistor gets very hot An will melt plastic, always mount them to metal and away from any wires.. 2 never use a baking sheet to bake lights.. use wood because if you leave lights on cooking sheet the heat can not move around the light, it stays at the cooking sheet An can melt the light assembly .. 3 your schematics on the paper you drew up is not the correct way to wire that said set up.. 2 resistors and a diode should be used. Than you'd be able to make 1 single led strip be used as a running light and brake light just like the factory dual filament bulb..

Resistor needs to be mounted on a metal piece, it will give off alot of heat & will melt the lens & may cause a fire.

you need to sand the inside of the lenses clear in order to take away the material which diffuses the lights, that is why they are blurry.

Hey i like how you bypass yor lights whitout box.i have same problem on my 91 supra .warninf lights on dash stay on but tailights works.did i can bypass same way on my 91 supra ?

Just a tip if I may: Please show the finished effect at the start of the video so that the viewer knows if this is what he/ she is looking for. I couldn't find the finished look even at the end section and I'm not going to spend 20 min going through all of it to see if this is what I want.

One possible issue. .the load resistors get hot and being inside the light housing may cause too much heat

That resister is made to sit on a heatsink. What is the ohm value? A 12 ohm would allow 1 amp at 12VDC which is 12 amps. Lower ohms means more current and more wattage/heat. Wattage/Power is equal to voltage x current. I don't understand the parallel arrangement. A current limiting resister should be in series with an LED to control the current thru it. Also it looked like he had the running lights and brake lights wired together. They should be two separate circuits because one is on when the car is running. The brake controls the brake light.
I saw many things that were wrong, but read some comments and some people helped you, by pointing them out, but another tip I can give you is, do not use hot glue for anything inside or outside a car, 1 hot enough day and it will completely melt.

I'd rather diy than pay someone else to do it. They didn't turn out to bad, they looked pretty good but damn man, you broke out the cut off sweat pant shorts!!haha .......nostalgic
I want to do this on a Mazda 3 2012 hatchback, however, any ideas to how would I wire a car that has lights on the boot as in when you lift the boot the lights are separated so to get the continuous water flow indicator look would I need a delay or just wire one strip to the other strip and then wire that to the indicator terminals, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks guys and great video!!!

Each light (the one on the boot and the one not) should have their own plugs. So essentially what you would have to do is to wire each one individually. They will both blink at the same time that way. If you want them to blink separately, I believe running a resistor and capacitor would work, as it takes time for a capacitor to charge up before it emits the current through it.
How will you make the LED a little clearer when it project out of the red lens? It seems a little blurry.

Just advice for the future, it's much better to swap out your blinker repay for an LED blinker relay instead of adding a load resistor. Eliminates the hyperflash, but it doesn't waste electricity and it doesn't generate a bunch of heat that could melt stuff. It blows my mind why people still use load resistors tbh.

@@diegomartinez4451 Your car should already have a blinker relay installed by the factory. If you have a compatible LED blinker relay, simply locate the original one in your car, and swap them out. This should require no extra wiring.

Dont set them on metal, use wood so it doesn,t make hot spots
Based on the way you did the wiring, it looks to me like your brake and parking lights will be the same bulb / LED combination at the same brightness. If I'm correct, that's really dangerous since it gives zero warning to the people behind you when you step on the brakes!

That is correct for the LED's, but I left one of the two stock bulbs in, so when you hit the brakes the whole light brightens

Ahh gotcha, and yeah there is. Mine looks like the left hand side because I'm running the stock bulb, so I still get the big difference like normal. The main difference is the LED strip running around the edges. That part doesn't change brightness, but the rest of it does like normal

I've altering lights since the 80s, they used to drill plastic Diamonds into the lights, then clear lights came out in the 90s, then star trek looking lights, then black outs. it's old and played out! Keep your lights original and clean!
