Sewing machine is like someone walk on the leather. 😘✌🏻
you are as fussy as I am with Finnishes & id say you did really well with your first pair. nice job
This has got to be one of the best sneaker kit builds i've seen! Great job!

Yeah, this is awesome. Definetiely will try to follow this one, but it will be a few months before i got a chance for it. These sneakers look so much more comfortable than others
I agree with Rustic Red. Great job
They look exquisite!
I have almost bought this kit a hundred times; thanks for doing this.

Nice shoe and colour
first off i want to thank your video. i grew up with 5 sisters and didn't know for many years that all women weren't like my sisters. i sisters ran the house and me ago, as i grew i saw that it was like that in the rest of the world. i have anyways been attracted to i believe is a strong woman, i see you a strong woman and is great to see more women doing DYI videos. also i have been a part time leathercrafter for a few years now and i have never seem anyone do the lining in the DYI leather shoes before. thanks again and good work. rob
So cool! I’ve replaced my Margom Serena cupsoles on my sneakers. I’d love to be able to design my own uppers eventually.
Great build. I've got a kit that's been sitting around for about a year and I've been looking for ways to improve the stock pattern. I love what you did with yours. Fantastic!
Wow... It's amazing one you made... Great skill ! God bless you...

Amazing job 🙌🏽
loved it ❤️ keep going..Dream sneakers
This is inspiring. Have got my kit recently. Aim planning to use kangaroo leather (since im from straya) and skive the edges so i can turn them. Also looking to use toe puffs and hrel counters out of veg tan(thiugh not sure if i need to mould it with water?) Will skive these down too
Awesome video and the shoes came out great. I’ve been on the fence as to whether I wanted to try that kit or not and now I want to, especially now that I have a sewing machine. Since you mentioned wanting to try making a shoe with a last, I figured I’d mention that I got a great tutorial series from Village Video a couple of years ago and have since made a few successful pairs. Lasts aren’t required. You actually make a cast of your foot with stockings and duct tape as odd as it may sound.

yes! do it! it's so much fun. thanks for the tip, going to definitely take a look at that.
Hello and thanks for this great tutorial. How is the comfort now that you've got more perspective after months of wear? Do you have any suggestions that would have made them more comfortable (if applicable)? I'm about to do a similar project and I'm considering adding a layer of cork in the cupsole. Does this seem like a terrible idea to you? Also, how is the felt padding feeling, would you recommend using that as padding or should I try to find some foam instead? Thanks a lot!
amazing!
Okay that looks amazingly, have been wanting to purchase the kit but I'll never know when I'll make it

@@SpringbokCraftCo I made a pair as well. It was fun but now that I have a sewing machine I’d love to try to go a little higher level and add lining and padding. I used a suede and did the high top version. I love the low top and adding lining. Thanks for making entertaining and fun videos.
The "they not as uncomfortable as they would be" x2 kills me LOL. Good job, Helaine :D

Que talento lindo, parabéns!💪🤝🙏
Wow, those are beautiful. Good job! They certainly look more comfortable than the two pairs I made 😉 On my channel I maintain a SneakerKit/Sneaker Starter Pack playlist --> I'll definitely add your video to it. Keep up the good work! Cheers, Tony

@@SpringbokCraftCo Thank you! I enjoy your videos as well 🙂
Amazing work, thanks for the tutorial! I've been waiting to start my sneaker kit trying to figure out how I would add a lining. What weight of arbor press do you use? I've been looking at getting one for setting rivets and grommets?
@SpringbokCraftCo
Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! A lining makes it a lot more comfortable for sure. I have a 1 ton arbor press. One of the first and best purchases I made.
Awesome video. I really liked the way that you modified the kit. Can you please tell me what that hand-held tool with the flat end is that you used to scrape away the painted leather before gluing the leather parts together and where do you get it from. Thank you

Thanks so much. That's a leather rougher from Tandy.
Thank you for the video! I'd like to know how well does only side stich holds, is it going to last long? Usually I've seen how boots are made and those are stitched and glued to the sole

I have no idea, we're 3 months in so far with almost daily wear and they're holding up fine! But this definitely isn't a traditional way of making a shoe, it's really just a beginner kit that teaches basic patterning.
Do you sew twice around the soles?
What is the leather sewing machine she is using in the video?
These came out great. My kit is still sitting on the shelf lol

Thanks so much! It's definitely a lot of fun
definitely looks more fancy than the basic version! just wondering is it white glue you use for the lining? would it come apart after some use? or it just needed to hold the lining long enough to be stitched on the edges?

I'm using a water based adhesive Aquilim 315. I would have definitely used and preferred barge/contact cement if I had any! I think a contact cement will hold way better and have better longevity.
Those came out awesome. What size thread are you sewing the upper with, 46 or 69?
@SpringbokCraftCo
Жыл бұрын
I'm using 92 as that's all I had on hand, but that's definitely a bit heavy.
Hi everyone. I need these soils size US 15, EU 50. Please, where can I buy it? Thanks a lot.
How much would you sell it for?
What kind of glue did you use to bond the outside and inside together before sewing?
@SpringbokCraftCo
Жыл бұрын
I used a waterbased glue: leathertools.ca/products/aquilim-315-water-based-contact-cement-glue I don't generally like to use contact cement but I'd probably use barge for shoemaking in the future.

Leather shoes are beautiful & timeless. But shoes with the white sidewalls are a garbage, 2010s fad that needs to die off already.
