DIY Indoor Golf Practice Net for UNDER $150! - Golf Test Dummy
#golfsimulator #indoorgolf #garagegolf
How to build a golf practice area in your garage without buying expensive nets. This setup has a shank guard, large hitting areas, and it employs a set of bike lifts that allow you to pull the screens out of the way when you're not using them. That means you can still use your garage for it's original intent when you aren't practicing.

The huge net that I have 10x10x20 was only $150 on amazon, just used some $2 hooks and some rope I had kicking around. I have other ropes going up that I can just pull the net up with and skateboard or do mechanic work in the space. They had smaller ones that were even cheaper. I do love anything diy though, I had a bunch of blankets hung up when I was younger as a golf net and just multiple carpets on top of each other for a mat. Maybe use something like electrical wire instead of zip ties though, I’ve tried zip ties to hang targets and they only last a few hits.

Love it -- my first "practice net" was a king size fleece blanket in front of an old sleeping bag clamped to an MDF board hung from the ceiling with rope. Only $30 out of pocket and it worked great.

Also, those zip ties might break after a while, try ball bungees. They absorb some of the stress. I built my own and used 1/2" electrical conduit instead of wood dowels. I made my own pulley system but really like the bike one. Next time around I will try that.

All great ideas. I considered those same pieces. PVC is too flexible. Steel pipe is too heavy. Lightweight conduit is perfect, but more expensive. This was as cheap as I could make it.

Very good, great video.. Impressed with using dust sheets for net : painters dust canvas sheet we can get heavy dust sheet plastic coated. Using nickel style grommets. Might assist avoiding sewing too, double or triple flooding the edge fabric. Love the off the shelf - pully system. Plastic chain good idea to avoid noise plus decent shock absorber. I used thick bungie cord to fill any narrow gaps, plus have a cheap net behind to soak any energy left in the screen. Just bought a Garmin R10 , and had a an amazon offer HD projector too. Never seen me affording a home simulator but, now do : )

to have the canvass role up, weave the pulley string through the canvass down to the bottom dowel. Cut a few holes in the canvass 1 to 2 feet spaced along the sides, take the pulley string and alternate front to back from top to bottom as you get down to floor. When you pull this will grab the canvass and bunch it up

More surface area means that whatever stress it's putting on the canvas would be spread out over a larger footprint, and make it harder for the softball to tear through.
