When the bag starts falling apart, don't bother pulling the rags out and putting them in another bag, just stick the whole thing in another bag. It's a lot easier, and each new layer of bag makes even more effective at stopping arrows.

Made one using old rags but put them in plastic bag first, sucked out air with vacuum cleaner. When compressed put inside woven sacks. When first few arrows release vacuum inner bags the expanding rags are held tight by woven outer layer. Solid compact target made.

I just spent about 65 bucks on a new archery target after my old one wore out. It's advertised as stopping up to 500 fps, and when I shot out the center and looked inside, lo and behold it's basically a corn sack stuffed with rags. I think I'll be making a few of these instead of buying a new target when this one wears out.

Loner Wolf, these targets really do work good. Like I said, when they get shot up a little just shuffle them around and put in a new corn sack. I've even shot broadheads into them. Of course this rips up the corn sack quicker, but they work for that too. Thanks for watching, KPO.

And maybe when you put it in the second sack, draw the bulleyes on the opposite side too so the other side is getting used. That will further reduce the need to shuffle the towels around. Every time you add another sack, switch to the opposite side.

If you really want to you can compress the rags. But a heavy plastic garbage bag in the inside of the feed bag, stuff as many rags as you can in it. Then use your shop vac with nozzle in plastic bag and vacuum pack it. With zip tie around both bags and nozzle.zip tie the feed bag quickly after pulling out nozzle. Since it is not sealed in will not stay vacuum packed long. But you sure will have a more compact target.

I uses feed sacks waded up in one bag and i shoot when not raining. Mine lasted 3 years. when outside bag gets too holey, i just push it all down in another corn bag. even stops my crossbow bolts. Grocery bags are too soft and hard to pull arrows out. The stiff plastic like buy on roll for green house works good also. Also the deer corn has a deer pic on front.

Adam, broadheads don't pull out very good. If you can get the right thickness target for your equipment, then you can have the arrows just sticking thru the back side, spin the broadhead off and then pull the arrow out. Otherwise just stick to field points. Thanks for watching, KPO.
