I for one personally find that the love, time, effort, and creativity you put into your gifts are worth waaaaay more than those expensive gifts people get from stores because they're convenient and they weren't really thinking about who they're giving it to 😊 I bet your gifts are amazing!

When I was a little girl. My Aunt would always make us something handmade every year for our birthdays and Christmas. I always loved all her gifts. I still had just about every thing she made me. I lost it all in a house fire. You are so thoughtful for what you are doing. To me handmade gifts are made with love.

Just a warning for the candles because I learned the hard way: PLEASE make sure it is heat resistant. I made a candle in a non heat resistant glass jar and it literally exploded. Thank goodness no fire was started but it’s super important to check!

It doesn't matter if materials come from the DT or the thrift store. You are very creative and do amazing things with these items. So don't listen to the people who poo poo your gifts. You put your money time and energy into making these gifts. And most importantly they are made with love and from your heart. I love homemade gifts, it means the giver thinks a lot of you ❤

These are remarkably beautiful items. The candles are gorgeous as well. You noted to keep the greenery and decor away from the flame and to not leave it unattended. You cannot let the candle burn down to the container bottom as well. Wood burns. Porous terra cotta and unglazed pottery also absorb wax like a giant wick and can explode. Some glass isn't tempered appropriately. Please choose heat-safe containers or use LED options or very close supervision as well as an all-soy wax that burns lower temp. Skip paraffin (hot) and beeswax (even hotter burn). A family in my city just lost their house and two cats near me to a candle in an unsuitable container the day after Thanksgiving. :-(

Thanks Kathryn!Coconut oil in wax is new to me and I have to try it! Love your sentiments about gifting!!!! Our society has become so lost in materialism and the need to shine that most gifts are no longer from the heart. It's ok to give high end or home made, as long as its thoughtful and from the heart!!!

Something about your demeanor, in this video, opened up the flood gates. I just lost my Mom, a month ago today, so this is my first Christmas without her. I do some kind of sentimental DIY gift every Christmas, either for my Mom, my mother-in-law or one of my sister-in-laws. Mom kept EVERYTHING that I made for her, even the stuff that didn't turn out so great. She loved everything, and shared pictures of it all. I had actually already made her 2 gifts, before she passed, because her passing was very sudden. She always reminded me that Christmas isn't about the gifts. It's about the time spent with loved ones. Christmas has become so convoluted in this day and age. I remember when I was growing up that there were many Christmases where we didn't have many gifts, and that was okay with me because I still got to spend Christmas with my family. Way too many in today's generation don't care about being together. All they want is money, the newest gaming systems, the newest phones, tablets and laptops or the newest trendy clothes. I would love if someone took the time to personalize something just for me. It shows that they were thinking of me, and wanted to do something nice. Gift baskets, homemade candles and wax melts, sentimental gifts in memory of my parents. Stuff like that means the absolute world to me. If only more people understood that it's the thought, and love, that count. Not the price, label or quantity of gifts. Thank you for this video. And thank you telling us that we are enough because right now, that's what I needed to hear. I hope your holidays are filled with all of the love, warmth and happiness that you deserve. ❤

They look like they came out of the Pottery Barn catalog (if they have such a thing. I don't know). So high end without the high end price tag. I crochet and knit and quilt so I like to make small gifts to give to my sister and her two daughters. This year I made kitchen towel toppers with dish towels I got at the dollar tree. You...are...amazing. 💛 All of these are great gift ideas and so personalized. We celebrate our Lord and as he gave of himself to us we give of ourselves to others. Recreating or repurposing items takes creativity which helps our minds and the receivers heart. I think I'm going to begin planning these ideas for next year. 🤗💛

One of the best things about your channel and your entire attitude is that we don't have to spend a lot of money on beautiful gifts. Personally, I'd much rather have something made by hand and with love. Not to mention, when we use thrifted items we're saving them from the possibility of ending up in a landfill somewhere ! Bravo Kathryn 🤗🎄🕯

Cute ideas! One note, if you add the charms to the tea ball, you won't be able to use the little hook for its intended purpose, which is to hang on the tea spout.

I love finding tea cups with saucers to make candles with. It’s a 2 in 1 gift. Candle at first and a tea cup for later
