Thanks so much for this video and the idea. Saved me a ton. I used cheap 1 inch stock from lowes to get the 1 inch gap. This also worked out great for making sliding slat doors. Used the scraps from the furring strips for 1 1/2 inch gaps on doors.. I would highly recommend lightly sanding the dowel rods, makes life so much easier. Wish I could add pics of the doors. Thanks again!!!

Looks very very nice, but worth remembering that flat floors are recommended by pigeon vets as better for health.

I agree, but im tired of the mess and you may notice the top racing lofts in the world have raised floors, makes you think. Plus they will be on flat perches for most of their time in the loft anyway.

That’s up to you. But I find the higher the better. More room for the dropping and it keeps all feathers and other crap down. The loft is clean and the air is fresh. Go higher if u have the space.

Looks Great Buddy I might try your Idea in my loft after I get mine redone I all ready have 2 by 4 all the way around the bottom of my loft so I would just set my floor grates on them the only Idea I might have for you is to build dropping pans that set right under your perchs so all the heavy crap falls in to them and is easy clean up each week if you dont use them it may build up fast in those areas

I don’t like using any chemicals in the loft. Those floors should last a very long time without any treatment. They are not exposed to any rain or bad weather

It’s as good as the first day I laid them down. The absolute best upgrade I’ve ever done to that loft. I now have clean boots and the loft smells clean. As clean as a pigeon loft could smell 😂

The dimensions will be different for everyone. I made them to match my loft space. If your loft is bigger or smaller you will have to adjust as needed
