DIY FLOATING GLOWING MIRROR
Hi everyone! so happy to share this one with you all!
It was SO EASY and looks SOOOO LUX!
UPDATE: It is 10/6/20 and my mirror is still hanging with no problems! Please make sure you are using the proper supplies. Contact your local Home Depot or Lowe’s to check what adhesive you need for the size/material of your mirror to ensure safety! I used liquid nail and let it dry for 24 hours! (PLEASE DO NOT use gorilla glue. Saw that in some of the comments 🤦🏽♀️) However, just because it worked for me does not guarantee it to work for your project. DIY at your own risk, and please be careful!

I own a glass and mirror shop. There is nothing bad about the adhesives but a Loctite PL 530 or gunthers mirror mastic or equivalent should be used. The reason why is more on the fact that the chemicals in other adhesives will etch or eventually ruin the foil behind the glass, making it a reflective mirror. Just an FYI for DIY people watching this. Good video BTW. Making one of these for a client and was going to use steel tubing and reversed J molding. I might just use wood now. Thanks

WARNING! This is dangerous! I did pretty much the same thing, except that I used Gorilla Glue Maximum Strength. What are the chances of this: Several days later, as I was brushing my teeth, the dramatically mirror fell off. That is the mirror separated from the wood. Luckily, it fell on a glass. The glass shattered, but it seemed to break the fall and the mirror didn't break. I contacted a local mirror company and the guy said that I should have used "mirror mastic." He said that mirror mastic is the only trustworthy adhesive. Additionally, I should mention that the mirror that I used was an IKEA Godmorgon model, 48" wide x 38" tall. This mirror had a white back that had a plastic-like feel. After the failure, I noticed that the white backing was now wrinkled. i.e. bubbled, in long strips. I punctured it and discovered that the plastic is simply a safety backing to keep the glass together should the mirror break. I pulled it all off. Now the back of the mirror was a dull grey color. My new plan: The rectangular, wooden back frame is attached to the wall with Z-clips. I've left it in place and nailed a piece of plywood over it. I figure that the plywood will add a lot of additional surface area and the mirror is somewhat heavy (23 lbs.). Tomorrow I will put a few 2x4's to support the mirror; apply the mastic to the plywood, put the mirror on, and tape it to the wall so it doesn't fall over.

YES HUNNNYYY!! I'm so excited about doing this with a Walmart mirror for my daughter!!
Dude, your excitement is contagious. Now I am gonna have to make one for myself! Thanks for the awesome idea
Ur energy is amazing 😊Great job I can’t wait to do this ❗️
Loved this video! Thnx for the inspiration. I have a large mirror just sitting on the floor currently. Can’t wait to try this!
I absolutely looooooove this video! Thank you for this, I needed ideas for a project that I am working on, which is similar to this and now I have what I need to make the back a floating LED mirror project as well. Thank you once again.
wow! how cute!! great job girl!
I love you’re energy lol!!
You are absolutely gorgeous, and your personality is so uplifting
Looks amazing!!
Love this! Would you say this is bright enough to do for a makeup vanity!
Do you know where I can find those hanging brackets that you used? Great video by the way!

Question: I'm in the middle of copying your tutorial & Im Not sure if you Hung the Mirror on a Frame Wire or How you actually Hung It 🤷🏼
Eeeet I LOVE you OMG sooo inspired RN!!!!
Loved your video you make DIY's so fun and easy
Hey I’m trying this out right now and was wondering if the edges of your mirror were sharp? As mine are quite sharp and I’m not sure if I should sand it...any advice?? xx
Love it !
You are too funny. I have always wanted a back lit mirror, I think I will try to make one. Thanks.
Hi!!! it's my first time watching you, thank you for the ideas and laughs. Then I watched your baby video! You are so funny !!😭 Have a blessed day.
Love you energy....keep it!
I love your channel 💕
I love this floating mirror 🪞
What are you on? I want some of the same. Edit: after watching the whole video I had to hit the like button. Nice job. But I still would like to know what are you on.
Love your DIY, Wow, Awesome, I was truly blown away, I subscribed and I am going to try this too. I originally wanted it for my bathroom, but after I saw your video, I changed my mind, this is so going in the bedroom. I was glued to your video for 2 reasons, #1 your diy was awesome,I love it, and you are funny!!... #2 you are totally eye candy and have a very cool persona, cute and sexy works very well for you. Your Hubby is one very lucky man. ;)
I have floating mirrors professionally installed. But NO LIGHTS!!!! Can you please link the ones you got from Amazon? You are the cutest BTW. I absolutely love your energy! New to your channel and SUBSCRIBED!
I'd recommend using specific mirror adhesive, as ordinary glues eat through the mirror backing. I learnt the hard way*
Your so cute and funny 😍 I enjoyed your video cuz I’m getting one and you remind me of myself when I’m alone lol
What are the dimensions of the mirror? It’s a nice size?
Good job! And may I ask...Where did you find that bedroom ceiling light?! 😍 I want!

Ikea!😍
Thanks for sharing this!
U say the wood was just for the lights, but then it looks like u attached the anchors to the wood? Is that correct?
Hi can u still put those wood and leave the frames on ?
Do u have links for the dimmer
What did you use on the wall for it to stay on the wall
What led lights did you use ?? Please lmk thanks
Good job Kelly and very funny
how’d you hang the mirror up?
Does this provide sufficient lighting on its own given the led strip is behind the mirror and not front of it? Say for checking out your outfit.
How long till it fell off the frame? Bookies want to know...
i love how doctor strange is just casually playing in the background
I got full walk mirrors (like in a dance studio) for FREE.... all you have to do is ask an apartment complex that is renovating and they usually just throw away the bathroom panel mirrors ;) I mean, ask the contractor not the apartment people cause They usually would probably say “sorry we can’t let you have it... yeah, it’s not ‘ours’ sorry” (or something BS) ....... or just wait til they put it by the dumpster if you don’t wanna ask lol
Where you get your mirror from 😩
any reason you didn't put the LED on the backing of the mirror instead of on the wooden frame? As is, the lights are facing outwards so the light bouncing off the wall is only side lighting to the LED. If they faced the wall instead I imagine you'd see a lot more light bouncing back

How did this hold up on the wall, was the liquid nail sturdy enough?

If you read the mostly everyone who tried it with that glue their mirror fell eventually. One guy states the professionals said to use only one glue to mirror to wood “mirror mastic”. I was gonna try this but that’s why read reviews and comments first! Lol but I do love her energy for this diy!
What size is the mirror?
Good job!
I’m gonna use pvc cement and let it dry for like a day and half. I’ll update if it’s breaks off or not.
hello pretty can you tell me the size of your mirror it's so perfect 😍😍
I tried to do it today but made a mistake and stepped on my mirror and cracked it lol going to Home Depot tomorrow morning and imma try again
I love this and I'm definitely doing it....who needs a man!!! 😂
thie was a funny video (in a good way). just a little tip, if in the future if the LED strips start coming off the wood you can tke some hot glue or super glue and put it on the back it will make them stick 😎
Su cutie 😍 nice video bdw
😂 hot ledy with the mirror 😁
Can anyone tell me what they actually used to mount the mirror to the wall?

Please be careful!!!!!! A few people on here had issues with it falling off the wall days later. One guy said he spoke to a professional after his fell and they told him when gluing wood to mirror only use “mirror mastic.” I was gonna do this good thing I read reviews and comments!
I feel like next time a voice over and maybe put the camera somewhere so you can show us how to do it. It was so much talking before the actual process started and then you just kept stopping😩 took forever. And im a little slow so I was confused asf half the video but I’ll figure it out😂
Frameless mirrors are not that expensive at homedepo that seemed too dangerous to save a little bit of money.
Be careful with mirror placement especially big ones in bedroom!!
So I did this and my mirror ended up with a distorted look to it :( Idk why... I did EVERYTHING you did to the T Maybe cause my mirror was $7 from Target LOL
@TheoSmith249

Possibly the wood warped the mirror... hmmmm.
@Fabricio0989

The wood you bought was wet. When it dried, it shrank, distorting the mirror. To avoid this just keep the wood in the same room where you will be hanging it for 48-72 hours.
Do you think using a glue gun will be a good option

Unfortunately I already used liquid nail before reading the comments I have yet to hang mines tho I went over the Polar board with glue from a glue gun so now it has liquid nail and hot glue hopefully this works for me I’ll update y’all (hanging tomorrow)
You are so beautiful ♥️
Wow you should of filmed yourself extracting the piece of glass from your throat......that would of gotten a million views for sure....super scary..glad you were able to get it out in time
😂😂❤
WARNING: Tried this on a 5'x'4 foot mirror, used (2) 2"x6" on back, used mirror adhesive, and waited 1 week to dry. The mirror fell off 2 days later. Good thing it didn't break.

Yeah you have gagging mouth lol
She is way to cute not to watch!
She is pretty and had carisma... that being said, no disrespect.....but... 3:48 “who needs a man!!” 6:05 “I had Eric cut these 1”X1” planks of wood” Huh! Don’t do that to women-kind, please. Is ok to need to help from someone else. Don’t matter if is a man or woman. But don’t say shit like “who needs a man!” Also, I don’t know why girls must make sure they look good first and have to show off a full body shot instead of focusing on the project. The project is good, and you are very pretty, but be more humble about it, girl.
