Hey, your vids are awesome man! Very clear and straight forward :) I used your advice with this tumbler and successfully bread 35 red zebra fry! I have a question, my larger female zebra just had eggs an I took them out of her mouth and there's 62!! Will this same tumbler be sufficient in size for the 62 eggs!!??? They are all tumbling properly and moving around fairly well...

Thank you, it was very informative. I have made tumblers from a gravel cleaner but feel like i lose viable eggs. Was wondering since you said it can go in a tumbler tank or a community tank, will the other fish be able to get to the eggs from the bottom?

He specifically said that he was searching youtube and found the idea on youtube. That doesn't make him bad for making the video. If you noticed he doesn't use the exact same material and he has a place he buys the parts from. The video was informative no matter where he got the original idea from. Thank you for the video btw.

Hi there thanks for the tumbler idea, I got a few of these from jehmco directly. However my first use of demansoni eggs around 13 of them a few days later the eggs develop the tails and the next day the tiny heads and eyes. The day after all had disappeared from the tube and no where to be found? They come with a plastic guase mesh but I don't understand how they got out. Any ideas?

I'm a first time cichlid keeper and my Powder Blue Socolofi is holding for the first time. I'm gonna let her spit in her breeder net since shes a first timer. I want her to gain maternal experience. After she spits, i'll feed her a few hours later and when she regains her strength, put her back in the main tank.

Hey KG. My question to you is, I'm trying to build one of these tumblers for my strawberry albino as she tends to eat or spit then within days. I picked up two identical sponge filters but the connections are different than yours. Mine are internal connections not external. Leaving the air nipple poking the mesh. Is this a problem or is there something I missed during construction?

Hay jhon.,thanks for the video. I have made some DIY egg tumbler and I have ordered couple from the site you mention. Now the problem is how do I connect multiple egg tumbler with my air pump. Say if I want to connect 5 egg tumbler can I do it with one air pump or do I need some thing else. I try to connect my 3rd DIY egg tumbler but the bubble is not coming properly. But other two tumblers are working fine. What should I do?

I am SUPER new to African Cichlids. So, this is reassuring. However, I just can't help but wondered what happened. I stripped my yellow lab female and the fry turned out fine but the other day I stripped my peacock female and within two days the eggs went bad on me. With your expertise, do you know what could have happened? Same tumbler setup and I waited for a week before stripping too. Are there any difference between mbuna and peacock eggs? Thanks, you been a wonderful help to me!

Brian, the fry can still die if they're not kept moving. if theres still an egg sack they need to be tumbled. You might be ok just putting an airstone under your breeder net.

Hey it looked like your tubing was plastic but you mentioned glass. Anyway if you decided to pick up another tube from the pet store and try cutting it up for your tumblers again best way to cut it I would think sit the blade of a kitchen straight blade knife obviously sharp on your stove burner. Let the blade get super hot and then you should be able to cut through that without cracking it. Fairly easy. If you decide to try it make a video so we can see how it goes!

If you have a strong enough pump you will just need a gang valve which you hook to your pump and split it to as many as your pump can handle. On the gang valve you'll be able to adjust the air flow to each output.

Hello!! Nice setup! I have a problem though and I hope someone can help me. I need to send eggs and larvae by airplane. Travel duration 15-20 hours. How can I preserve them properly and minimize the mortality? My best idea until now, is to "sterilize" the eggs with H2O2, put them in bags (3/4 oxygenated sterile water, 1/4 air) close the bags and put them in an incubator with constant water temperature of 28C. Unfortunately these tumblers do not fit inside the incubator because I need to fit also an air pump, which is impossible. So the eggs will not have any movement for 20 hours. Am I going to lose them all? Any ideas?

Its not something to panic over, If all of the eggs went bad right away they were most likely bad to begin with, probably didn't get fertilized by the male properly.
