I just love this! I'm 69, but I'll try it. When it is warm or when I vacation in warmer climates I think a dress or skirt is always cooler. Will have to give this a try, but will have to go to the thrift store first.
love it but a bit too short for my 67 years! used to do that in the 70 but long one, nice to see young ones sewing again.

Wear that short denim skirt with pride age dont matter!!!!
Thanks! I literally tried to buy a skirt just like that last week and I couldn't find one long enough for me (I'm pretty tall and skinny so I either get a small and have it too short or a medium with the right length but it's usually too wide). Being able to make your own clothes is really cool. I made two, thanks to your tutorial :)
I have sewn one by hand and it doesn't take too long. Also, love the dungarees!!
That’s brilliant never thought of doing that before! You inspire me so much! X
Mine turned out great!!! I loved it! Thanks so much for your tutorial!!
Yess...this came just in time as I was fidgeting about which pair of jeans to sacrifice and make a skirt out of them :D It's so nice to see your process and its simplicity! I was thinking I will have to open all stitches and sew them again, but your method is way much smarter! OMG omg... I can't wait to try it!
I love that the shirt you pulled out was identical to the one you are wearing!
Very Cute! Love denim skirts for summer.
Great idea - thanks for sharing the inspiration and the easy to follow instructions. Have a great day!
Love, love, love! I've also been looking for a denim skirt since last year and had no luck but It didn't even cross my mind to make my own because I don't own a sewing machine. It's time to invest in one :) I have lots of projects in mind now :) Thanks!

I have lost weight and need a new denim skirt. Thanks for the idea. Looks easy and I love the frayed hem
Oh great! Was just about to fork out too much cash for something from the stores, but so glad I saw this instead. Thanks!
That was clever and great result!
You inspired me....had an old distressed true denim pair of jeans that I could not wear anymore and went right to work making them into a skirt. I made mine a bit longer so I added the denim insert piece in the back side as well. Love the look and a great little ‘kick around in’ summer skirt to wear that will take me into the fall.
Another cool sustainable project - well done Signe😀
it really looks good..
Perfect! Nice video! Love it!
Love your channel thanks for inspiring me to get my sewing machine and upcycle my clothing ,
Turned out amazing...thanks for the tutorial!
Love the way you teach
I love your channel 😍😍 The diy is cute 😍
That is brilliant. Thankyou.
This is really amazing.. Will definitely try it 🤗
I loved it!

I didn't realize you live in Denmark! I think that is super cool :) I would love to visit Denmark some day. Lots of love from Canada! xo
so cool! This is definitelly my new project.Let's do this!Thank you for this inspiration 💙
Great job! ♥️
Finally someone not using glue. Thank you.
easy to learn! thanks!
That's clever. Thanks for sharing. I was wondering if there is a way of cutting the overlapping a bit more to create a pencil skirt. Thanks again.
Good job! Thank you!
So cool video! Very great job! :)
This just went straight to the top of my To Do List! I‘m absolutely in love with this look 😍
Im gonna try it 😍😍
This is such a good idea! I have jeans where the inner thigh area has worn out but the rest of the jeans is still great. Might as well recycle them into denim skirts. Thanks for the tutorial 😊
Very cool!
I want to make one I love denim skirts. This is the clearest video about this I have ever seen. Can I try this with other pants? I'll have to hand sew because I don't know how to sew. I want to learn how to sew.
Cool. Yes. 3pairs which i have i vl convert. Greetings n luv from goa.
Wow😍😍 I loved it Very useful and easy...
Great I love it
definately going to do this, it looks great.
I love your channel 😘😘
I have a huge pair of corduroy pants I'm planning to do this with xoxo
Very usefull, thank you🤗
I didn't not know that this could be done, such a cool idea, I'm definitely gonna try to do it with some old jeans (although I'll have to saw manually...)
Great project! The instructions were simple and clear. I’m sure a lot of us will make one.
It looks so cool! I live in a really hot weather and I find it hard to look stylish when humidity takes over my curls and the heat makes my skin shiny (gross, I know) but, I think I can rock this skirt :D. Question: I saw in one of your Instagram feeds a sign that you hold in your hands something "Nothing Changes if you change nothing" or something like that. Can you please let me know where you got that :)? Thank you darling!!
Very cool skirt! ❤️
Very clean video. I wonder why you did not open the seam, instead of cutting
Your Solo Talented💙💙💙xoxo
Very unrelated to your video, but I love your watch! What brand is it?
This was so relaxing to watch
And I dont have a machine but I dont intend to use fabric glue not for something im gonna wear. Now I will use fabric glue for crafts, felt and other fabric.
This is such an amazing idea! So I'll try to do the same kind of thing from any of my husband's old jeans! Thanks for all this series! xoxo

oo
Hi I'm making this now in isolation in Ireland xxxxx
You are so talented with the machine, great addition to your summer capsule.
such a great and most of all fun idea! bravo!
Awesome dyi, this is a must try, just curious how the back pleat looked, I was hoping you'd show us how it looks from the back when you were wearing it, does it end up sticking out a bit or sit flat?
@UseLess_dk

Gail's mail I does stick out a tiny bit but I think it just takes some wearing and sitting down, then it will lay flat at some point 😘
I really love you mam 😍
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
your creativity is the main reason I subscribe to your channel! thanks for the cool DIY!
Oh wow! How cute. You are a very talented woman. :-) TFS
Super fed idé! Og god video 😀
Signe, I really enjoyed this video - and I definitely have some old pairs of jeans that I can use to make into a skirt. Thx for another great video. ❤️
This is genius! I have been hunting for a "classic" style denim skirt for ages - all the ones I seem to find are either skater-style or pencil skirt - but one like you've made is exactly what I've been looking for! I don't have a sewing machine, but am definitely still going to give it a try! Thanks so much for sharing! x
Amazing! I used to make these denim skirts years ago when they were in fashion, and now they're around again and I'm super excited to make another! Love this video :)
I loooooved this video and definitely loved the way my skirt turned out, but I’m having issues at the back since my size is bigger...I did the same (front thing) at the back and looks weird now! Help...it’s literally almost perfect. 👑💕🙏🏼

I had the same issue with the back! I kept re-pinning and trying it on over and over to get it to look ok before I sewed it. I may have cut into the seat part of the back a little too much, and actually trimmed the curved seam back a bit because it went over too far and looked strange. It basically really hugs my bottom but flairs below it, but it does look a lot like her does in the back, my butt is just much bigger lol. I am hoping to try it again sometime and be careful not to cut into it as far.
I would like to do this but I would want it lot longer. Can that be done or would it look funny?
Nice sewing machine..♥️♥️♥️
Very nifty idea. Looks great. Enjoy wearing it.
It looks great!
Love this!
yeah i have sew my first jeans skirt!I'm so proud💞
Hello! $249.99 Free People Skirt! Adorable!
I love your channel I have gained so much inspiration from you and have nearly finalised my first capsule wardrobe for autumn - I'm in Sydney Australia!! I love your idea of hanging up your jewellery in your wardrobe - I've done the same thing ! Thanks for the idea 👍🏻
You must have read my mind; I was thinking about your other instructional videos on altering levi's, and hoping you might know how to do this skirt thing!! Thanks Signe!
Fantastic, can you do a dungeree, one what you wear at the beginning? Maybe a simple one? Thank you. Greetings from the Netherlands
Love it!!! x
🌷
I made a skirt like this lest year for myself and right now I'm making one form my sister. I really like that I am able to make something new form something that I don't want or need any more. For me it's more exciting then shopping. The pleasure, joy and feeling of accomplishment stays with me longer :D So I think this is really great video! The content you put out is inspiring and edicative :D
I remember making a skirt while in grade school. I believe I made it for a sewing badge for Girl Scouts. I also made one with a different fabric to add length. This is excellent work
You are my fashion superhero 😊
I have to try this!!
I made myself jeans like this and I hand sew it! It’s a bit pain on the fingers but it’s worth the struggles! I love it and wearing it all the time.
Great idea. Thanks !
not a new idea to me but still great video and my beloved youtuber Signe. THANK YOU! for making this world a better place....
Well done 👏🤘🤗
I'm gonna buy a mom jeans at the thrift shop and then make a skirt like yours.
This is a very cool retro look, going back to when this was first done in the late 60's. Another idea you might try would be to take an old long sleeved denim shirt or jacket, and make an instant "cold shoulder" look by cutting out shoulders, cutting short the sleeves, and possibly cutting the front only of the shirt waist level, and fraying the cut edges as you did in this video.
Good job, it's just a little bit too short for you, in my opinion
Awesome ❤️
super cool
Wonderful!!
#cute 👖💚
I'm off to find a pair of jeans! Thanks :)
I'm having a really hard time getting the skirt aligned on my sewing machine. :(
Cool
I would prefer to see you sewing up closer with no blurring and also quieter music but great tutorial
Does this work with really skinny jeans as well? And is it possible to make a high waisted skirt from normal waisted jeans? Really love the idea!!!
@UseLess_dk

Heidi My jeans were quite skinny too so you could try 😍 the slit might be a bit wider on very skinny jeans but you cover it up with that fabric piece to maybe it doesn’t matter. I would say that if you want to make it highwaist you need to cut it so that it is longer and then maybe sew the inner seams in a bit - watch my “how to make jeans slimmer” video if you want to learn that 😍
