Really helpful and i love your style 🎉🎉🎉
Such a great vlog- loved it
This video came up as an idea for me. I am visiting my daughter out of the country soon for three weeks and do so in a carry on only. This was so helpful the way you presented it with the 5,4,3,2,1 method and with your photo frames. I have never seen this done before. It was very helpful. To answer previous questions about other essentials, most places have blow dryers. All my beauty and face products I pack in small containers. I also minimize those to some extent. What takes me room is vitamins, medicine, night guard, inhaler, IPad, etc. and I pack those in my large purse. New subscriber here! 😀
❤❤👌✔️
How can you say that it's kinda the same colour. the shoes have a cool tone the bag has a warm one. 😆 Love your content and this is great inspo but as a designer I have to complain :D
I feel you! I've been wearing white/black/grey my whole life. I hate drawing attention to myself. Plus, I'm a minimalist so I wear top black pieces and jeans 99% of the time. BUT I was about to color my hair and I ended up landing on the color analysis... And I experimented in front of natural light with my camera different colors. Oh boy do I look dull and sick with some colors... like... YOU GUESSED IT! BLACK! It washes me out... now bright red looks GORGEOUS on me. But a cooler red does not work. Turns out I'm a bright spring. And I do want to look alive and healthy, not like a zombie. So I'm gonna find myself some neutrals that actually work for me. Like the right shade of navy blue or chocolate or green. And why not, maybe a bright red top piece. I mean, people can wear whatever color they want, that's perfectly fine. BUT not believing something that they can actually SEE with their own eyes?!?!?! Sounds a bit crazy to me. I mean, wear anything you want. But some colors will make you look healthy and some others will make you look like a zombie. And I can prove it with myself.
This approach and your explanation makes everything more clear than I've ever heard. Thank you for this video.
good video
Well, I think it’s perfect! A little snack every now and then keeps things light and fun. I could do way better in that area of my life. Oops. I love a glass of wine too, but I guess you don’t drink at all?
I’ve just rewatched this video because I feel I’m ready to deep dive into what it takes for me to build a (capsule) wardrobe that I ABSOLUTELY love. I made (and still tend to make) a lot of wrong purchases and went too fast. My problem is a lack of good basics in good neutral colors and I see that I need to take time to really think about my go to formulas! What do I love wearing and what do I usually pair together? Not asking myself those questions has led to a wardrobe with lots of nice items by themselves, but they are hard to layer/pair together. And I still have too many colors going on. Your best colors are the same as mine, so your choice of colors is very inspiring ❤ It’s about really finding out MY perfect versions of the capsule basics and limiting the amount of colors. Keep the vids coming, they’re so insightful! Love from Holland 🙋♀️
This was fun to watch! You and your family are so cute!! Keep making these!!!
I am relaxing my denim fit also. Also I like how your shirts are baggy and fit nicely with your bottoms. Your sage green suit is gorgeous. Wish we had that label here in Australia Thanks for sharing your tips
Great video! I already use Pinterest, but you have definitely given me ideas on how to get more from it. And I will start a Style Icons board, beginning with pinning some of my favourites that you post, thank you Signe!
Love the insights ❤
I don’t like the white sock with a loafer as it always reminds me of a Michael Jackson costume. I was happy to see you still have your black purse - love it- this was fun!
Atomic Habits, life changing. Tiny Habits by BJ Fogg is also great. I LOVE your idea about doubling a recipe so you don't cook every night. We usually make extra for my husband for luncn but maybe we need to triple it to do this. GREAT IDEA!! Thanks for sharing!
this was so helpful explaining what brands you use, what brands work and what issues you are working through with your clothes. Great to hear more about everlane. I purschased a piece from Everlane and am trying to figure out what they have that works for others. Are you an inverted triangle? I am and struggle with blazers but if you are one and Everlane blazers work I will try that.
I follow the CMB system since the 80’s when the book came out. It really does simplify things. I do look best in muted warm colors. I’m an “Autumn”.My biggest problem is finding “my” colors!! They seem to be the least available wardrobe colors in stores!!!!!
This seems like enough clothes to live indefinitely, if you're minimalist. Let alone for a holiday. How will all this fit in a standard suitcase, though? Seems very bulky. I'd be interested to know how you pack these items.
The secret to not overpack is to get rid of the “just in case” mentality. Plan all your outfits by outings and stick to it. Unless you’re going to a deserted island, there are places anywhere in the world where you could buy things, if needed. The same with packing things like shampoo/conditioner/soap and toiletries in general. Buy travel sizes if you think you won’t be able to find your favorite brand at destination. If you think you could, buy there! I can’t tell you how many people I’ve seen getting confiscated WHOLE bottles of shampoo or (insert any product here) from their carry-on, or have bottles explode inside their luggage cause they need to bring everything and more for a week vacation…WTH
That was not a summer wardrobe at all!
Excellent and clear ideas to help identify how to recognize our style and the side by side pictures to see what is good for you and what isn't
Always baffled me why people stress that they "curl up" on the couch with a GOOD book. Who would even bother with a BAD book? Also I noticed that people are so unoriginal and kind of blah when it comes to what's hygge. And they overuse the word "cozy". A lot. Everything I read in the comments is just a bunch of things people repeated after others and think it does make them feel good somehow. Laughable. Not a single original thought. A herd. Just a herd.
You have me totally rethinking how I pack a travel capsule! Thanks you!
Hey hey Signe your skin is beautiful! Can you share your skincare routine? Its funny about coffee first thing in the am, being a Swede we love our coffee but I only drink decaf or matcha 🍵 in the am or I get anxious! Later in the day no problem👍🏖️ do you cook any Danish recipes?
When we're getting ready for our yearly trips, I bring up the garment rack a couple weeks before we go & start pulling & deciding 'what to take', then the BIG suitcase & garment bag comes out, along with our carry-on & personal bags... This year we're going to Boston & Cape Cod for a week, once again I pulled out the garment rack, but this time within 20 minutes, using the '5 4 3 2 1, I was done. I found a practically new carry-on suitcase at a consignment shop & the items not mentioned, (toiletries, undergarments, cosmetic case & medications), EVERYTHING will fit in that carry-on, so Hubby can have the BIG suitcase & we can leave the garment bag at home :) My 'personal bag' will be my Coach town tote, I can put my laptop & our 'important papers' in that, then a smaller bag in the carry-on for when we get there. We always print out our flight & lodging papers, that way if there's a sketchy internet/wifi connection, we still have that paper as a backup & there have been times that it's come in handy to have it on paper, not just on the phone. We use a pencil case that has 2 compartments, one for the papers & the front for our passports for when we go on cruises. We wait with the 'non-essential' liquids, (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, sunscreens) until we get where we're going, then we find a Walgreens or Walmart & get the big bottles there. With both of us using them, within a week they're close to if not empty anyway so we can just toss them when we pack to go back home. :)
Shoes are my biggest challenge.
great idea!
when i go thrifting in person i always wear my high waisted leggings and a sports bra. this helps me to try clothes on when theres no fitting room! ive made the mistake of wearing a black long sleeve shirt on top instead, but sometimes ive gotten the wrong idea of how a color looks on me bc i thought it looked fine against the black but not actually against my skin. also, i usually go w a friend and we do a “mom check” for each other right before we check out, aka the other person will look out for any stains/damages and give a confirmation that its in good shape! it helps bc sometimes im so excited to find something i like i overlook something like a worn out inner thigh on jeans or a stain somewhere.
"Minimalist" Brings her entire wardrobe 😂
Do you have any tips for finding basics in your chroma/value/hue? I know you’ve mentioned the brand Colorful Standard and wondered if there are others that you’ve come across? Thank you for all of your thoughtful and thought-provoking content (loving the podcast!) :)
Naïve question: I love the look of a denim jacket under a wool coat. However I am not sure of sizing? I gravitate to coats that skim my body or princess seam ones. When I layer, I feel tight and restricted. Any insight would be appreciated. Blessings to you and yours.
This helped me narrow down the WHYs of what I do and do not wear in my wardrobe. Thank you!
Enjoyed this content! As a soft muted Summer, with greying hair, (medium ash brown) I tend to gravitate to the darker navy blues versus the muted grey blues. I feel sexy yet relaxed. Having lost 40 pounds, with 20-30 more to go, with your help, I am finding more of an authentic and slow style wardrobe. Thank you, Signe!
Adorable presentation! 🥰
that jumpsuit you made is incredible!
omg signe you are so clever!! love this concept!!
