This is the cutest skirt ! Yeah, I’m another one who did these back in 1975. So glad they are back ( still?) in style! A tip for others -slip a medium size cutting mat or even a piece of cardboard in between front and back to make a easy surface for pinning. Thanks Mimi!

Mimi, I did this back in the late seventies when I was in high school. I also did a fabric insert, and then I used the same fabric to make a top with a hood.

This is hands down the best tutorial for this project. I have looked at many other tutorials and they don't even compare!

OMG!!!! I started sewing when I was 12 and fell head over heels with it. I made all my clothes from 7th grade until my senior year. I also made a lot of my little sisters clothes. I made a ton of clothes when I had children too. But lately I use my sewing machine for paper crafts. Today’s video made me want to sew clothes or at least cloth again. You are an awesome teacher. I think I got the bug again.

Who would think glue would hold fabric together to wear, like where is their common sense🤦‍♀️ it's not a hair weave!

Love love love it! I was in between sewing a straight seam or over lapping with saving legs to piece together triangle piece to finish off! I think I prefer a straight seam.

I'm glad you addressed the "no sew" sewing tutorials. I've watched those and didn't get how something made only with glue was going to hold up over time? And you answered what to do with the hump left over in the back🙂

I recently made a maxi denim skirt using my auntie's method by hand😌 and I love it❤. I can't wait to make another one with a machine next time.

Glued down skirt !!! No way is that gonna hold !!! Ain't that cheating too !!! I suppose whatever floats your boat but no way is my butt gonna stay covered by a bit of uhu glue !!!! Another great tutorial by a lovely lady. Sending love 💙💙💙💙

Miss Mimi G. Thank you very much for uploading this video and thank you very much for the way you present it. I think you're right about the the people that do no sew DIY videos. Go back to how strong that fabric glue is it will not last after a few washes and it will just fall apart. You cannot go wrong with an old fashioned sewing machine and sewing things properly. Guess what? If you sew with a sewing machine properly your item will never come apart. Have you ever tried turning a blazer into a skirt also have you tried turning a shirt into a skirt? Also could you do a video showing people how to take a denim skirt in that's two sizes too big for people who have lost weight and want to make their clothes fit them again? Again. Thank you for uploading this great video. Regards pure.

I remember cutting my jeans into shorts. They always turned out shorter when you put them on than they looked when we cut them. It didn't matter back then as long as you were able to make it out of the house. :-) I loved the 70s!!

I made my first jean skirt in the 70s, I sewed completely by hand using dental floss for thread🙃
