Yeah, that was amazing! DIY on the excavation! Should of done the pouring and finishing....I've been watching (researching) videos on how to do the entire process myself (on a much smaller scale) and this really helped me! I've watched several professionals do it and nice to see how it's done.

Doing this for my 17×55 parking pad. Thank you for using aggregate. I've seen that's a corner contractor's like to cut often to increase profits. That's why we roll up our sleeves

Does this require a permit, I’m doing a driveway pad of 17x60 I was told I don’t need a permit as longest I don’t cross neighbors owners line

What did it end up costing to have the concrete poured and the tool rental? How did you haul the John Deere?

The only thing I would say is that the base for the driveway should not be round stone, but so called class five compatible gravel. You need a base that compacts down hard. There are recycled versions from ground asphalt that are very cheap and compact Great.

How did you do your grading? At 6:43 you mention building forms and checking to see what's high and what's low but you don't go into any detail and the next thing we see is all your forms already built and you're pouring already with no mesh or rebar/reinforcement in place. No rebar/mesh reinforcement?? No mention of cutting expansion slots? It feels like you left out a lot of important details...

Typically 7-10 days to cure enough to drive on

So am I, I went without the rebar and used fiberglass reinforced concrete

I was so excited to finally find a DIY concrete video, but then I found out it's just a clickbait video. I'm so disappointed. Came out nice, though.

You wish you had the money, but the video is sponsored by, and you call it "DIY" while later on in the video a concrete truck is appearing and like 5 dudes are on the scene to finish the concrete off. Hmmm, initially I had high hopes for this video because I have a worn torn drive way myself with already broken (very) old concrete blocks, some tiles and grass patches, and my idea would be to hammer those blocks to pulp, make them act as foundation and then just drag in concrete bag by concrete bag, by hand and make that 20 by 3 meter driveway that I also wanted for so long. I just hate the weed...(ing).

The title is misleading for sure..but in the video he does say he hired a bunch of people cause he couldn't do it himslef..so he came out clean and told the truth...he definitely should change the title tho...

Why, so he can pay 3 times the amount for his new driveway. Never a good thing to borrow against your home, you need to pay it off first.

Thats not a do it yourself driveway when you have a crew laying your concrete.

This driveway is going to fail there is no rebar to give it strength he probably has fiber in the concrete but that is not strong enough or long-term that sucker is going to crack like a cracker in pieces . I give it six months to a year before he sees the first major crack sorry dude you need to tear it up and start over what a waste of money . God bless you you get educated before you do a project you need rebar big time.✝️✝️✝️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
