When I saw you nail the plastic to the frame that could be a problem. When strong winds come it will tear the plastic away from the nails. Suggestion is to take strips of wood and sandwich the plastic between the stripe of wood and the wood frame, then nail it. That way the wind can't cause the plastic to rip away from the nails. Seen it happen to other chicken runs.

And you can use roofing nails. They have a thick plastic washer on them and hold better.

Thanks for sharing with us. Just a suggestion, you can run hardware cloth around the outside perimeter of the chicken coop itself and remove the chicken wire on the front. It would allow the chickens to get under their coop for more protection from predators and from the element. Hardware cloth has smaller holes and is thicker and more durable than chicken wire. Also I’d run hardware cloth around the bottom half of the run as well. A fox, opossum, raccoon will kill your chickens as well and they can get through the holes on the cattle panel. Just a suggestion. I know when I lose a hen to a predator it always sucks because you lose an egg layer and chickens are fun!

You may have fixed it, but there are owls and ravens that will attack your chickens and kill them, and the opening on upper part of run will allow them in. Also you may want to run actual chicken wire around bottom part so weasels and martens will get in pretty easy on that big of panels. Just wanting to help. I have chickens, and I know you don't want to lose them. I think you have a follower in me.

Ok just warched this the chicken coop nice job but yes there is a but. You have it so high in the air so much wasted area under costing you to heat. The run is good but predators will get under so easy if 1 bird is out at night it will be free food. The chickens like height for roosting so all that space under could have been better used. All in all for someone just starting out you do you. Good job but research research especially in Alaska it is a little tougher up there. ❤ keep up good work

Nice easy to build chicken run. I think it would be a lot easier on you if you modified your nesting boxes to open in the front rather than the top. (Or take about a foot off the "legs" to lower the coop. - that would help with the angle of the ramp and make it easier for the girls to go down the ramp.)

Of course, being unfamiliar with raising chickens, that chicken run doesn’t have to totally enclosed with chicken wire on each end? That pizza looked good. Till next time gang!

We have it closed about halfway on each end with wire fencing. They will stay in their run and we don't have any predators in our area. Thanks for watching 😊!

Sure! Happy to share 😊! 1 cup warm water (105 degrees 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar 1 Tablespoon active dry yeast 1 Tablespoon olive oil 2 to 2 ½ cups all purpose flour 1 tsp sea salt 1.Combine warm water, yeast and sugar in a large mixing bowl and stir to combine. 2. Let mixture sit for 5 minutes, or until it becomes frothy and bubbles form. 3. Gently stir in olive oil. 4. Add 2 cups of flour and salt and mix with a spatula until a ball begins to form (dough will still be slightly sticky). Add more flour as needed to form a dough ball. 5. Transfer to a floured surface and knead into a smooth dough, adding up to ½ cup extra flour if needed.

coop is to tall. wife can barely get her hands in laying nest together. eggs. good job
