Hello friends in this project I have made a 3D scanner machine, basically this machine have a sharp IR sensor which measure the distance between sensor and surface of object at every 1.8 degree angle in this way it takes 200 readings in 1 full turn of object then sensor itself lift up by 1 mm and again take 200 readings in this way a point cloud data is stored in memory card and the point cloud file then imported in MeshLab software and here we can convert into mesh and we can export it STL format also.

The shown point cloud is *not* the scanned object - the scanned object has its mouth closed, the point cloud has its mouth open. Also, the point cloud shown does not have points in layers as suggested by the time lapse, but the points concentrate radially in front of and behind the head, suggesting someone modeled it starting with a sphere primitive.

Nice project even tho the point clowd you've obtained at the end is not the one from the object you've scanned, can be a little deceiving because it looks like you can get some killer resolution while in reality you can't
Well made video and a neat idea, but the point cloud was clearly modeled from sphere primitives, not scanned (the ducks' bills don't even match). The disproportionate vertex density around the eyes and bill were an immediate giveaway as were the converging vertices toward the back of the head (exactly as a UV type sphere does). Not trying to expose you as a phony, but when you have over 100,000 views on your videos, you should probably make them more convincing before everyone in the comments starts calling you out.

En el scaneo el pato tiene el pico cerrado y en la toma de puntos el pato tiene el pico abierto, no es el mismo pato, salvo que la maquina tenga inteligencia artificial y detecte que el pato estaba hablando, estas publicaciones dejan mucho que desear y no le hacen bien al sitio.

Облако точек не соответствует реальному сканированию. Это видно невооружённым взглядом, облако построено из триангулярного файла 3D модели типа STL или подобного. Обман

J'aimerais bien le VRAI nuage de point, pas un faux qui en fait est une modélisation ou on ne voit que les points. Le vrai résultat doit plutôt représenter une patate un peu diforme

0.06 The yellow model in the middle has its mouth shut, but both Point Cloud and STL look different. How come?
just a little question : beetween 5:15 and 5:30 when did you add the laser diode ? is it just for easier use of the scanner ( seeing what it is doing in realtime) or did you wire it directly in the distance module to get a narrower area for the measured dot in the point map ?

The Diode is to make even more Schmucks believe this is real, look at the scanned image and compate the heads...

Hey there, I own 2 pouch packaging machine . They have serious problems with their controllers and are out of order. Their manufacturer consider them as obsolete. I am wondering if Arduino can take over the old PLC controller.

Are there any limits to the accuracy of detail from the sensor or is it only lmitited by sampling rate and min/max range?

the sharp sensor's output is a voltage, so if sampled using an 8bit or 12bit analog-to-digital converter this gives you the resolution, but there's videos about that Sharp module that mention the need for software filtering of the data. more expensive sensors sometimes have a microcontroller on-board that do the filtering. else the noise/errors may swing larger than the 1/4096 or 1/256 resolution of the ADC

Ничего крутого на самом деле. Проект у автора не удался, он показал не сканированную сетку, а сетку 3д-модели изначально нарисованной на компьютере. Думаю, получившаяся точность оказалась слишком низкой чтобы ею можно было похвастаться.

I think this project is a sales exercise for jlcpcb - unlikely it works properly. No homing switch on z axis - the sensor shown is not that accurate. You would be better off with a laser line projector and a camera at an angle to determine the profile. Also, you'd need some sort of calibration object to set this up.
